Yet another crime drama heading to our screens. I'm watching heaps of shows like this at the moment. Anyone else planning to watch?

I won't be watching live but will try to get on catch up ASAP. Looks intriguing.

I recommend watching it a second time, in the daytime so I didn't fall asleep I got so much more out of it having read this thread too. Thanks all! And the Tina Charles song has been going round in my head ever since Grin

Love River's new sidekick (and his taste in music!)

Am looking forward to seeing how it develops tonight...

sadwidow28 · 20/10/2015 20:49

I'm here and ready to watch live tonight. I'll probably have to watch it a second time to fully understand it - but I'll give it a go.

Hope others arrive for the live showing.

sadwidow28 · 20/10/2015 21:05

I said that Riley would be River's 3rd 'manifest'.

quirkychick · 20/10/2015 21:10

Hi sadwidow watching live too. I will probably rewatch tomorrow, am trying not to get too confused with all the crime dramas I'm watching!

psychotropic · 20/10/2015 21:30

I don't think he's mentally ill, those manifestations could be a kind of sensitivity a bit like Harry Potter seeing the thestrals because he's suffered loss/trauma! It did sound (up to the part where the psychiatrist asked if he saw dead people Grin) as if he was being screened for PTSD despite the traumatic event occurring only 3 weeks earlier Hmm

It made me feel desperately sad, the end of the first episode Sad

sadwidow28 · 20/10/2015 21:33

So does the change in log-in details on CCTV mean that a copper is involved? Who else could change the CCTV?

But clearly Riley wasn't in the car (but Stevie was)

Is Tommy (Stevie's brother) the one who is supporting Tia? That would explain her recognition and smile as she turned her head.

sadwidow28 · 20/10/2015 21:48

So Bruno ("soft boy") stole the car because he was looking after Tia.

But then Riley wanted it and stole it off Bruno.

So who did the car belong to before Bruno stole it?

sadwidow28 · 20/10/2015 22:01

Well blow me down with a feather ..... I actually enjoyed that episode. I am actually beginning to care about the characters.

And I really, really want to crack the clues fuzzpig Grin

quirkychick · 20/10/2015 22:08

Oh good, sadwidow is listing all the clues!

I wonder what is on her other phone... ?10,000 out of her account too. The plot thickens...

sadwidow28 · 20/10/2015 22:27

I know there is at least ONE screenshot I want to do ..... I'll watch through again and get my files set up.

But there was LOADS of information in the 2nd episode. (Some of it was clarified in the episode, but some is left 'hanging')

Hmm - this should keep me busy if insomnia kicks in at 3am!

NoahVale · 21/10/2015 06:41

really enjoyed that last night. great tv

is it believable that stevie's brother would be such a character though, still her mum did say she dropped the brother once she got her uniform

NoahVale · 21/10/2015 06:42

i did miss the first 15 minutes,
did i miss anythign important.
what's this about changed log in to CCTV?? I missed that

MrsJayy · 21/10/2015 08:16

Stevie sent her brother to prison the other female detective said i keep wondering if its her family her mother said something along the lines of taking the law into your own hands.there is something River isnt remembering . Its really compeling i am really enjoying it. It isnt moving fast enough for dh so he was bothering me with "whats happening now" oh its to slow" i had to shush him like a 5 year old

sciaticasucks · 21/10/2015 09:24

Am really enjoying this. I love the slow pace (I need that so I can follow! )

Did anyone notice on the end credits it said 'made in association with Netflix'?
I reckon that might go some way to explaining why it's so good.

Also loving the wonderful shots of London

MrsJayy · 21/10/2015 09:29

I like it slow too if it was to fast i would miss bits think the dh wants car chases and shouty police officers tbh

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 21/10/2015 09:49

I was glad our hero didn't step off the platform, (Eddie Marsan doing another really creepy character).

Thanks for saying what the fortune cookie said, saves me playing it again.

Wadingthroughsoup · 21/10/2015 12:38

I'm really enjoying this series. Nicola Walker is brilliant and so likeable as Stevie. Skarsgard's River is so painful to watch- I just want to cry and hug him.

I enjoyed all the 'pretend to be normal' stuff in last night's episode. I feel I can relate somewhat to characters who have to present a front if they want to 'fit in'.

River told the psychologist he had been diagnosed, but didn't say what with. Are we supposed to assume it's schizophrenia, I wonder?

I'm very intrigued by what Stevie was up to, and whatever it is that River isn't remembering.

Brilliant stuff!

Wadingthroughsoup · 21/10/2015 12:40

Sorry, psychiatrist, rather than psychologist, I think.

slicedfinger · 21/10/2015 12:44

I am loving this. I wonder if her mother killed her/was in the car - that might explain the 'matching' DNA in the car. I initially thought her brother, but that would just be really obvious.

psychotropic · 21/10/2015 12:52

I don't think it's schizophrenia, he was taking mirtazapine which is an antidepressant, could have been an add-on to treat the negative symptoms I suppose.

psychotropic · 21/10/2015 12:55

I think he's lonely and has an unfortunate attachment style rather than mentally ill.

quirkychick · 21/10/2015 12:58

I missed the first few minutes, too. I will try to rewatching to see what I'very missed.

Wadingthroughsoup · 21/10/2015 13:01

Ah, an antidepressant. It's interesting that he said he should have declared it previously- do employers in general have a right to know when a member of staff has depression? Or is it only in certain professions?

psychotropic I totally agree about attachment style rather than mental illness. I think he's just a little unusual. Perhaps just further round the autism spectrum than some others!
