I know there's a used to be secret one and then there's a really secret one that even though it's been filmed in they weren't allowed to reveal where the location is. It has its own telephone network and electricity.

I think they are near Corsham. How cool is that.

There is a old emergency government bunker in the Corsham Tunnels - it's mentioned in that PDF (link above). It's a shame they don't do tours anymore.

I live near Portsmouth and we have a huge network of tunnels and shelters under Portsdown Hill. It was used during WW2 as a huge community bomb shelter -there were shops set up, a hairdressers etc. almost a complete town under there. The council sealed the entrances up years ago to stop kids etc. getting in there - no idea where the entrances are now but I'd love to have a nosey! Maybe I should try and find them so I know where to head with my ofrs when the zombies come!

There is of course the SECRET NUCLEAR BUNKER in Essex.

Is that the one that is signposted from the main road? I remember passing one, but don't remember where.

I am sure I saw the Essex one on the way to Centre Parks.

Theres quite a lot of bunkers, some more secret (and current) than others. The one nearest to us is behind a hotel, and was to be where BBC transmissions would have been made from in the event of a nuclear strike.

Ah, but ours are all old ww2 grey bunkers, not shiny white ones like in america. Though, again, that could be many eotw films talking
