Following on from the first thread (we were getting a bit short on space!).

Pastry week next - it's time for the dreaded soggy bottoms!

I am ever so slightly in love with Tamal

LemonRedwood · 09/09/2015 20:44

Can we take him too, Slant?

PurpleDaisies · 09/09/2015 20:44

Please put me on the list MrSlater! Mel and Sue are on my dream dinner party guest list.

NoelHeadbands · 09/09/2015 20:45

See right there, Tamal- he has a chart of top sandwiches.

He is my perfect man

CrotchetQuaverMinim · 09/09/2015 20:45

It must be hard to do it in the tent, with the vagaries of the weather and humidity, and then all the other contestants cooking stuff and steaming around them, changing the temperature at random. Hard to practise for that kind of thing.

LemonRedwood · 09/09/2015 20:45

I mean, befriend. Damn autocorrect Wink

GrouchyKiwi · 09/09/2015 20:45

LOVE that Tamal's is inspired by a sandwich. That's cooking.

bruffin · 09/09/2015 20:45

I was boughr up on flounas, i adore them We had them every Easter. My Cypriot nan used to make the pastry with oil but didnt use yeast or mastik. She taught my welsh mum how to make them so we carried on the tradition.

Hellokitty105 · 09/09/2015 20:46

Tamal hasn't been on top form this week. Alvin to go?

wankerchief · 09/09/2015 20:46

Are they very cheesy bruffin?

CrotchetQuaverMinim · 09/09/2015 20:47

It always just seems to be a time pressure competition, rather than just a who-bakes-best competition. I guess that is part of it, wouldn't be as exciting a competition otherwise and no good for TV, I get that, but sometimes I think it is testing the wrong thing.

Igneococcus · 09/09/2015 20:47

There was an article in a German magazine about GBBO last week and there was no mentions of Mel&Sue. I signed up for the comments and told the author off for this oversight and he apologised.

LemonRedwood · 09/09/2015 20:48
Grin
wankerchief · 09/09/2015 20:49

So many gone wrong

CrotchetQuaverMinim · 09/09/2015 20:49

:D They are the best part of it.

I love the cheesy puns.

NoelHeadbands · 09/09/2015 20:49

I'm actually hot for Mat as well as Tamal this week, jeez I knew I liked pastry but this is ridiculous

wickedwaterwitch · 09/09/2015 20:49

I like Mary's Hermes belt

LemonRedwood · 09/09/2015 20:49

I like the idea of deconstructed vol-au-vents

GrouchyKiwi · 09/09/2015 20:50

Good week for Mat.

wankerchief · 09/09/2015 20:50

I'd love to lick mats vol au vents. I love trout

Sansoora · 09/09/2015 20:50

Oh god, Nadia looks as if she's in trouble. :(

LemonRedwood · 09/09/2015 20:50

Mat for star baker?

MrSlant · 09/09/2015 20:50

YY a man with a list of top sandwiches who still remembers particularly good food is my kind or man, we will certainly befreind him Lemon Wink.

Suddenly have a lot of respect for anyone who makes their own vol au vent after this.
