Just watched last week's on catch-up, as I'd been away on Wednesday. I already knew who was in/out though.
The ice cream cakes were all a bit strange! I do like the embedded designs that some of them did - never seen that before.
I thought it a little unfair to be putting so much pressure on Ian, and then also to say that he was at risk of going out, just for being only 'medium' on the first day. I wonder if they are going to start judging him more harshly, trying to set him up for a fall. If they really are trying to find the best baker, they should be taking into account a bit how they are doing in the competition generally.
But I am glad that others got to shine more this time, as Ian isn't my favourite, much as I suspect he might be the best baker though, or at least best at devising interesting flavours and creations. He seems a hard worker, too, who has spent a lot of time practising and perfecting his creations, rather than a sort of spontaneously good baker. So I don't think it's fair to put extra pressure on him just for winning three times already.
I do like Nadiya and Tamal though.
Prison Paul was better this time, with the laughing over the gusset thing and the creepy figure (thought the legs were pretty good, actually, as he was sculpting them!). He is clearly much more knowledgeable about bread than a lot of them; that's his real strength more than cakes I suspect.
I quite like Flora, even if she can be a bit perfect; she can't really help her background. Her cakes have generally been beautiful, too, though a bit boring perhaps. I quite like boring, at least to eat, as some of the other combinations have been really weird.
What are the other two men called, Alvin and Matt is it? I think Alvin was quite at risk of going out last time, though he seems nice enough. Just too many near misses. Ugne was funny, but I'm not surprised she went out, as she had too many actual disasters to stay. I am surprised she stayed longer than Marie, to be honest.
