Once again I agree. It got to the stage, for me, that any night, the Platts and Callum didn't feature, I thought 'that wasn't a bad episode'. I think Stuart Blackburn was obsessed with the Platts, and while I do like some of them, it was close to becoming 'Platt Street', they were so central to it. It's a shame that Corrie has this fancy, new set, but centres every other scene in the Platt house.
Callum has to be the most unconvincing and boring villain ever. The night Max got knocked down, and the episode finished with Callum gurning, as usual...aaaaargh.
I didn't like the way Deirdre's death was dealt with, either. There were some (not many), good parts, but I believe they were more down to the actors and actresses involved, and their genuine grief, than anything else. Eileen Derbyshire/ Emily breaking down, in the pub, while talking about her, was one.
The door blowing open, as they drank a toast to her, was absolute nonsense. Ken and Tracy rowing during the funeral service, was just a horrible, badly done storyline.
And they kept cutting away, in the Deirdre death/ funeral episodes, to feature Callum, Bethany and Sarah, of all people.
Anne Kirkbride RIP, deserved so much better.
