Ooh dizzy how exciting and thoughtful of your dh unless secret destination is Slough Travelodge. I don't know, a threesome with CJ, might be just the thing to make the celebration go with a bang!Grin

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 10:02

Dizzy careful, you wouldn't want him to come too soon surely?

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 10:23

Not sure I can afford to go halves orph so I'm hoping not there. Sure you're right or even bang, bang, bang selfish I know but I rather like the idea of only CJs attentions sorry MrD

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 10:25

Certainly not ilove I'll be expecting above and beyond :)

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 10:39

Almost forgot, whilst out and about yesterday I came across an army recruitment centre - close inspection revealed no CJ though :( Thought you lot might find this interesting...

Of course OG pre ep1 immediately sprang to mind.

orphan · 20/08/2015 11:52

Lots of friends' children getting their gcse results this morning. All done brilliantly : A* by the bucket load. Hope it's similar good news for anyone else involved on here.

orphan · 20/08/2015 12:13

Just heard my niece got 6A* and 5As!! Lots of celebrating in order.

richtea hope your ds is happy with his results. I'm just so relieved I don't have to do another exam unless I want to. The pressure and competition nowadays is unbelievable.

KellyHb · 20/08/2015 13:17

Hark the herald angels sing!!! Finally back on. Couldn't believe I was on that list. Looks like I'm the Taliban's ace of spades. I was expecting the Strike Back boys to barge through my back door last night! So terrible for people having to go through that in RL.

DH sorted the URL thing when he got in last night and I reset a new password but wouldn't let me in again this morning so had to get another reset eventually. I didn't try to get in MN last night as I thought I read somewhere it was down. Now I'm totally paranoid about passwords for various things. Will change them even though they're all completely different.

rhu thanks for being my special list bedfellow and glad you got back in okay. Smile

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 13:22

Yay, welcome back Kelly, good to chat to you on ffb group this morning and could feel your frustration - breath, you're back to RL now Wink

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 13:23

*breathe even!

KellyHb · 20/08/2015 13:29

You too dizzy I literally felt bereft. I hadn't started rocking backwards and forwards but I wasn't far off. I almost had to start playing crafts with the kids it was that bad. Confused

I like CJ's wage dizzy. He could take me anywhere round the world on that amount. Exciting too for you having a break away. Wine

Congrats orph on your niece's results! Star I bet you're so pleased. Smile

pixieg1rl · 20/08/2015 14:47

Quick hello then back to work for the next couple of hours

Congratulations all GCSE-ers!

orphan · 20/08/2015 15:11

Gosh kelly it must have been desperate if you were on the verge of a crafts with the kids session!!Grin

Dd off to Cornwall with friend so packing right now.

pixieg1rl · 20/08/2015 15:30

Pack waterproofs, orphan. I've seen next week's forecast [sobs]

cjwoofwoof · 20/08/2015 15:32

Phew things got a bit hairy there and I don't mean I've been too close to Manu Been locked out of MN since yesterday evening despite thinking I'd changed my password etc as requested. All seems well now - I was almost bereft for a second there - didn't realise how much I depend on you guys for my sanity Confused

cjwoofwoof · 20/08/2015 16:06

Ah! That's better - surprising how much a bottle of brandy restores your well being not to mention libido after ogling these pics Grin

Don't despair Pixie some parts of Cornwall have a micro climate. We spent a week near Penzance a few years ago and although it was raining in most of the South West we hardly saw a drop of rain. Think they are currently filming Poldark in and around the South West at the moment so keep your eyes peeled. Think something is happening very near me but I don't want to go into location details for obvious reasons. A few scenes for the last series were also filmed nearby but I had no idea that CP/AT was so close at the time. (Mind you wish it had been CJ).

Richtea19 · 20/08/2015 16:48

Mumsnet passwords, grrrr. It's driving me mad.

Crappy day today as GCSE results day for DS not as great as he wanted. He got all Bs and one C. Initially I felt disappointed as he wanted a A in maths. I keep telling him that Bs are good, especially based in his crappy mocks (U for English and now a B). However his school requirement to do maths A level is an A or A* at GCSE. He said he would rather go to college, which is our local crappy one where kids wear track suits showing their pants (me showing my age).

So no champagne for us tonight, dad co I g over too, which will make it worse as he has no "bedside manner". It also doesn't help when one of my friends sons got 3 A* and 6 As.

I need a lay down in a darkened room.

orphan · 20/08/2015 16:50

Ooh woof Prudey nearly had a pasty crimping accident on seeing that pic of AT. She's making sure her syllabubs are ready for sampling for the new series. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the rumours are that Darkie's run off with that donkey she had a roll in the hay with and is currently giving rides to all and sundry in Torremelinos.

orphan · 20/08/2015 16:55

richtea sounds as if he's done really well considering his mocks. It's horrible if he's disappointed cos those are good grades. Having said that, I do think an A at maths GCSE is probably a good idea if you're planning on taking A level cos I know my ds found it a massive leap.

KellyHb · 20/08/2015 16:58

Ah, I think those grades are pretty fab rich. Its a shame when even though they're great grades but they're not exactly what they want. My GCSE grades are a complete cautionary tale. It was at the age when you start to hang around with boys with your friends and generally have more interest in fun than studying. Confused

orphan · 20/08/2015 16:59

If he was close to an A, maybe his school will reconsider anyway. They tend not to be so strict if they know you can achieve the grades. I'd still have the champagne - sounds as if you could do with it!

Richtea19 · 20/08/2015 17:06

I keep telling him they are good grades, and he did actually say that he regrets not revising/planning well for his mock. Maybe this will help with As/A level exams.

We've been ringing around other sixth forms today, bloody nightmare, so stressful. orphan you are right, I need the alcohol!

orphan · 20/08/2015 17:12

I get really cross sometimes with the school's expectations kelly. My ds got an A in one of his maths gcse modules but was told to retake cos he hadn't got an A*. So instead of being pleased with the result he felt he hadn't achieved. And this was a bog standard comprehensive.

I'm dreading my dd doing gcses (she starts yr10 in sept) cos she goes to pieces in exams and it's all terminal now rather than modular.Sad
