I've just read this about what's being happening to MN How terrible- armed police to a MN house!!!

Thanks ice, yes I'm back in the fb room ????????

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 07:29

Err, they were smiley faces not question marks. Just read the briefing notes, crikey, just imagine if that happened, the poor woman.

Richtea19 · 20/08/2015 07:38

I had the same problem last night with my password. I tried several attempts using the usual password but in a different combination, but wouldn't let me. I had to think of something completely different!
Just hope I remember it.
Thanks for the link ice must of been horrific for them!

Rhubarb01 · 20/08/2015 07:48

Back in the room but beginning to get a bit paranoid about it all now. Found a confirmation of password reset in my email in box and thought someone else must have done it because it was timed well after midnight but then realised it must be the very delayed confirmation from the day before.MN must be inundated with requests. Have reset of course like everyone else again this morning as there's no choice but it's getting a bit bonkers. This is definitely all designed to drive MN users mad and cause trouble for the site but better not say too much because clearly there is a new way of getting at people rather than just having verbal fisticuffs on here but by using the police. Agree with the rest of you what a terrible, scary thing to happen.

icemistOBE · 20/08/2015 08:23

Glad you're sorted Dizzy

Good morning. Just managed to create a new pw on my tablet. Last night was bizarre - no matter what I tried, it wouldn't work. Hope everyone has got back on the site. We need a roll call! (I remember sniggering when as a teen I had a Canadian supply teacher who called out "Right, let's number off!" I'd never heard the expression before and it sounded suspiciously smutty.)

Nickel45 · 20/08/2015 08:44

Morning all, finally back .... Combo of passwords (what a nightmare for MNHQ, they are doing a brilliant job I think!), dodgy wifi (in the middle of Devon wit no signal to anything most of the time!) and not knowing what I'm doing, I think, but I'm still here!

orph I number off my cubs ... Makes me giggle each time, but does mean I end up with the same number as I start with .. Might not be the same cubs, but it's the same number!

Hope you are all having a good week. Lots of ff for me to catch up with but can't access it very well, so will read where I can. Can't wait. Me and the kids are off to Cornwall at the weekend, so hoping that the travelodge has wifi and that the kids sleep before I do (not very likely ... How can they get by with so little sleep??!). Back later, when I can .... X

orphan it seemed to be the same for us all. I'd been on my phone when it threw me out and no matter what I tried, it kept refusing so I went on my laptop and then had the same issues. I've had to write it down this time in case I forget as it's not at all similar to any I would normally try to use.

So glad I'm not at work for the rest of the week. Need to go in the garden and do lots of cutting back as everything seems to have got so tall (lots of rain but sun inbetween times I think). It poured down last night though so I need everything to dry out a bit.

We're still having to boil the water here in Lancashire for drinking. We are now into the third week and United Utilities are keeping very quiet about it all which is infuriating us all. I hope we get some sort of rebate on the water rates....well we can hope I guess.

A few pictures here from my holiday but they're big files so may have to send them individually.

Glad you're having a good holiday Nickel. Has CJ's Mum been round with any more cream teas?

These two are at Versailles.

Lovely to see your pics ilove, Versailles looks fantastically OTT both inside and out, in a kingly and totally appropriate way of course!

orphan · 20/08/2015 09:20

ilove did you get chance to see le Petit Hameau whilst you were at Versailles? It was my favourite bit probably cos I could more imagine myself living there than in the ostentatious palace. (Although of course, Orphan Manor is modelled on Versailles and I am at this very moment in my own Hall of Mirrors)

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 09:21

Yes Dizzy, it's no wonder the French had a revolution really when you see all that glitter and gold. Definitely not the kind of place you feel you could live in! Haha. The first time I went there, I was 15 (ahem a long time ago) on a school trip and we spent most of the time in Marie Antoinette's hamlet, where she pretended to be a shepherdess. I'd wanted to go there again this visit but by the time we'd done the inside and then watched the musical fountains, we were shattered because we'd had trouble getting to Versailles from central Paris and also had to queue up for an hour with thousands of Japanese, even though we had pre-booked tickets. It was a pretty tiring day all in all.

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 09:25

orphan I think we posted at the same time. Like you, I thought Le Petit Hameau was more realistic, even though Marie Antoinette was deluding herself thinking she was a shepherdess!

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 09:26

And orphan mirrors on your bedroom ceiling hardly constitute the Hall of Mirrors!

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 09:29

Sounds wonderful ilove and you have inspired me to visit. Think you sent your rain our way last night, the garden is a jungle, again and I'm also just about to start cutting back, again! Btw orph all mirrors are on the point of being banned in this house, on account of summer holiday excesses. After feeling really lumpy and mopey last night have woken to yet another good intention - look out treadmill! After all you never know when CJ may come knocking ....

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 09:34

Dizzy do you want me to send CJ in your direction? I'm always happy to have him around (especially after last night's ironing marathon he did) but I've had him, so to speak, about five times this year, so don't want to be accused of being selfish. Remind me whereabouts you live.

orphan · 20/08/2015 09:38

Oh yes cross post ilove! Marie Antoinette definitely was the poshest shepherdess in history. We've used Versailles (the town not the Palace!) as a base for a couple of days en route back from the south. It has a lovely market and of course is easy to visit Paris from. Never been to Lyon though passed near by.

orphan · 20/08/2015 09:42

My Hall of Mirrors is more like one in a fairground judging by the reflections I can see. Like you dizzy all year round holiday excess isn't giving me the svelte reflection I would like.

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 09:43

That's an offer I can't refuse ilove, except maybe I should get some treadmill sessions in first might gonna need some stamina and I'm being taken away next week for a night to a secret destination by DH, to celebrate our silver. Guess three might be a crowd on that occasion Grin. So yes please if he can fit me in after that I'll be ready and waiting Wink. He'll need to find his way to Milton Keynes station.

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 09:44

Lyon was a great place for a few days, especially if you like food. They have a celebrated chef, Paul Bocuse, who has a couple of restaurants and the indoor market is named after him as well. The market was amazing with cafes and restaurants and of course there was a daily outdoor market with the fab fruit and veg, so unlike what we see in Tesco or Sainsburys! Because it was so hot, we didn't really do the place justice but I would definitely be happy to go again.

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 09:46

Strange phenomenon that orph I thought mirrors were meant to reflect ourselves back at us, not some much older, frumpier, lumpier person!

Ilovelblue · 20/08/2015 09:47

Good heavens, we passed Milton Keynes on the M1 on the way home on Tuesday. If only you'd said, I could have dropped him off/thrown him out.

No need to think about a treadmill prior to CJ visiting. He'll certainly sort out your fitness levels once he's with you!

Dizzydots · 20/08/2015 09:54

In that case he can't come soon enough ilove Grin. But for now must get on with precision trimming hacking through the jungle.
