Head down at work woof. Better that than head down in the river.

cjwoofwoof · 13/07/2015 10:56

Unfortunately that's where I'll probably wish my head was in a little while pix - my monthly visit to elderly mother-in-law is imminent when I can summon up the courage and gird my loins for the cup of Camp coffee. Some days you just prefer to be at work instead...

Ilovelblue · 13/07/2015 11:59

I'm at work woof so have to be careful typing on here.

Kelly and I had quite a long chat on Saturday night. I had PMd her earlier as my Mum had undergone treatment for cancer some years ago. We were on the phone over an hour. As she said, it's much more fun to talk than to type! Of course, you will find it hard to guess who/what was the main topic of conversation after we had discussed her mother's ongoing treatment. Grin

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 12:31

Wow it is quiet on here. Yes ilove Its funny when you're used to typing and then you get to talk to the same people especially about our favourite captain. Smile

I've had a friend over this morning who brought the boys a toy golf kit so spend most of morning stopping them from hitting golf balls and clubs off each other even though they're soft ones. They're now for the garden I think!

Thanks woof they look sweet for the camera but definitely have their moments but I suppose don't all kids? I keep thinking in years to come I'll have two 15yr olds and a 17yr old. Do I dare leave the house then to go on holiday? Confused

Richtea19 · 13/07/2015 12:53

So far kelly my experience is not to leave teenagers on their own especially with access to beer fridge and spirits!!!
Although currently I'm on a shopping day with said teenager and he is being a perfect child.... Could this because my credit card is being maxed out on holiday clothes. He keeps saying "I can't help that I've grown".

kelly my sister has twin boys who are now 22yrs old. They are gorgeous. They have their own friends but always you can see that bond between them, something very special.

cjwoofwoof · 13/07/2015 14:07

I'd stock up on the Valium and Gin in prep for 2 x 15 yr olds and a 17 yr old, kel - mine are 18, 15 & 11 and my stress levels have already hit the roof, gone into orbit and are currently circling the sun as we speak. They simply evolve from little bleeders to big, hairy, lairy drunk ones...but I love em really...I'm sure I do Grin

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 14:21

Ah that's nice about your sisters twins rich. I hope mine are like that in years to come. My Dads a twin and him and his brother are so close even though they live a long way from each other. They must talk on the phone about six times a day.

Talking of keeping teenagers away from alcohol, I remember a couple of years ago when a family had just moved in up the street. They had 2 teenage boys and one night they had a small house party but a note must've gone on FB or something because literally tons of other teenagers turned up all uninvited apparently and spilled out onto the street hence fights, beer bottles smashed everywhere and girls hanging around with dresses on, two sizes too small. Police were called. What a crazy night that was. Definate curtain twitching going on at 2 in the morning. They've been quiet for a couple of years since. Smile

pixieg1rl · 13/07/2015 14:25

My Nan was an identical twin, which made for some weird double takes as her twin sat down at her funeral. My Nan would have LOVED that Grin.

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 14:26

I think I will woof. Think I need Valium already sometimes. In a way excited to see mine as teenagers.

So woof have the kids cottoned onto your CJ obsession?

cjwoofwoof · 13/07/2015 14:46

Are you completely mad, kel?? Don't think the word "excited" entirely covers the feelings you will experience when your little bleeders hit teenagehood - I'd say words and phrases more like "dread" "worried sick" "late again" "which police station/hospital/ditch?" "how much this time to get you out of trouble?" or something along those lines is my current vocabulary, bless their hearts. Nah! I'm joking - it's a joyous, wonderful time propping your eyelids open and clock-watching at 4am - I wouldn't miss it for the world.

As for my CJ obsession, don't be silly - you don't think teenagers actually TALK to their Mum do you? Grunts and gestures are the order of the day...if you're lucky and they want something, otherwise forget it, they'll probably be asleep 18 hours out of 24.

Although I think my DSs have previously cottoned on to me having the hots for my overwhelming admiration for AT, RA and Manu Bennett by the way I make them freeze-frame their Hobbit dvd at important scenes and have pressed the Keep button on the Sky recorder for all the Poldark episodes. And my eldest DS is into weight-training at the gym at the moment so I'm giving him the benefit of my advice vis-a-vis having a body like Manu/Crixus and he'll go far with the ladies. I know orph thinks he's a lego-man blockhead, but I think he's still mighty fine in a loincloth, plus I don't feel quite a cradle-snatcher as he's over 40!!

Come to think of it, BA likes a bit of period drama - I can see him in a remake of Sampson or The Robe showing off his toga and sandals. Aah yes, now that would indeed cause a stir at Woof Manor if BA played Caesar.

pixieg1rl · 13/07/2015 14:55

Maybe some Labours of Hercules. He could spend a lot of time being grubby in a loincloth rowing around the Mediterranean. That would work for me Wink

cjwoofwoof · 13/07/2015 15:17

A bit of Boss Man and the Argonauts, with 2 Section doing the rowing and Molly being the talking boat figurehead leading him to the golden merkin fleece

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 16:11

Grin woof. I read your point with much hilarity.

My problem is I still feel like a teenager sometimes and in writing think I still sound like one, even though I'm a lot older (think ilove was surprised when I told her my age) but when the kids are older, I'm hoping I'll be seen as a cool mam who my kids will love going shopping with, or having a drink down the pub with but most likely I'll be having the same worries as you woof

cjwoofwoof · 13/07/2015 16:53

In your dreams kel no matter how much you think you're Down Wiv Da Kidz they'll still think you're a middle aged frumpy old has-been and won't even want you in the same town as them, never mind the same pub. And forget being friendly with their friends too - you'll get the rolling of the eyes and the "just go away and be old somewhere else Mum" glare.

But you can always do what I do with my eldest DS - shout across the car park as he's lumbering off with his mates with trousers round his arse "yoo-hoo! See you later babes, love you!!" That's always a winner and gives a very deep seated satisfaction for all the times he's given me grief Grin

icemistOBE · 13/07/2015 18:46

Evening, busy morning before work and didn't get chance at lunch to post anything!

I'm dreading the teen years. Ill have a 13 year old and 17 year old so one staring and one finishing!!

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 18:48

The way the little darlings have mucking about tonight while I've been trying to make them eat their tea - I definitely don't feel inclined to be their anything when they're older. Confused

cjwoofwoof · 13/07/2015 18:55

Welcome to my world ladies, welcome to my world Grin

Now you know why I make up fantasies with fictional Captains - so much more preferable to RL Confused

pixieg1rl · 13/07/2015 19:26

On an unrelated note, anyone seen this?

m.bristolpost.co.uk/Mini-driver-smashes-fish-van-pleasuring-sex-toy/story-26891651-detail/story.html

Ilovelblue · 13/07/2015 19:30

What a horrible day it's been today. Virtually non-stop heavy drizzle the entire day. At least there's nothing needing doing in the garden tonight and it will force me to (a) do the ironing (b) get the hoover out (c) write a letter to my elderly aunt in New Zealand. Well I might, though it's a great excuse to start re-reading some of my favourite ff.

I see greenstuff has posted a new story.

Yes Kelly I said you sounded about 25, didn't I?

I've been with three apprentices this afternoon whose ages ranged from 18-22. Sad to say that their combined ages weren't much more than my actual age. God, I felt old! One of them looked like a young version of David Beckham.

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 19:54

Hilarious story pix. Grin woof this lady with the sex toy-it wasn't you, was it?

I wish I was 25 ilove that's for sure. Its been constant rain here too.

I just wanted to share that I just spoke to my Dad and my Mam saw the doctor today and he said she's making great progress with her treatment even though she feels so I'll. Only 3 more weeks to do if she can try and get to the end. Some good news Smile

pixieg1rl · 13/07/2015 19:56

That is good news Kelly

Ilovelblue · 13/07/2015 20:00

Good news about your Mum Kelly. Has that made her feel any better?

KellyHb · 13/07/2015 20:05

I think so ilove. Although it's hard to tell as she can't really talk now but it should do definitely.

pixieg1rl · 13/07/2015 20:15

I think if anyone needed a nice battered sausage, it was that lady Grin

Nickel45 · 13/07/2015 20:21

kel good news on your mum, I hope she continues to improve and that the side effects improve too. Sending hugs.

pixie that story is hysterical!!! I don't know what to say!!! Whether to feel sorry for her, or whether she is completely bonkers (and why would she have a sex toy with her in the car!??!?!!). Anyway .....?!
