Majestic That would make sense. Last night when Noah was arrested I had the distinct impression that they did not have a child... It was just the two of them sipping wine. Who on Mumsnet can do that?!

It was also weird how Alison insisted how much she loved the victim.

Plus I kept asking DH "so when did this murder actually happen in relation to the current time?"

spookyskeleton · 09/07/2015 15:59

gingercat but Alison came out of a bedroom with a child's book and Noah asked her if 'she was asleep' - the implication was definitely that there was a young child/baby in the flat (whether it was Noah's remains to be seen I guess)

I can't envisage how Alison went from a boho waitress to what appears to be a high-powered business woman Hmm

So many questions - if this was ever meant to be a stand alone series, it was rubbish as there were no answers to any of the questions. Clearly they assumed it would be a roaring success and a second series was guaranteed Grin

PuppyMonkey · 09/07/2015 16:01

Ginger, Alison was talking about getting "her" to sleep and had just come out of a room where this "her" was presumably sleeping.

Could've been Noah's youngest. Maybe she's on a sleepover or has moved in with them in the flash forward bit.

gingercat12 · 09/07/2015 16:11

Sorry. I must have just been jealous of the peace and quiet.

oneowlgirl · 09/07/2015 17:43

Good idea re them being interviewed for separate crimes - that would make sense actually. Also that the child could be Noah's youngest on a sleepover & the child Alison refers to in her police interview being a different one altogether.

Who knows???

Noah is horrid though!

I thought this series has done a good job of showing the absolute anguish & despair of losing a child as well as the heartbreak of an affair & how if you could put things back & ignore the reality of the situation, many women would.

Other than that, it was shit Grin

NigellasGuest · 09/07/2015 18:44

sorry to be crude but what was the significance of the bumsex?
they seemed to be making a bit of a thing about it!!

yumyumpoppycat · 09/07/2015 19:40

I think I missed that Nigella!

Ha ha didl - what will alison be wearing has been one of my highlights of the series.

Helen speech made me sad too.

I think Noah didn't murder anyone but there is a cover up going on at Alison's instigation/ for Alison, I think the different versions are the stories they are telling the police which are diverging.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/07/2015 19:52

I thought it was interesting that in Alisons version Whitney didn't mention the abortion/baby but in Noah's the detective watched the footage so Whitney must have been/is pregnant.

spookyskeleton · 09/07/2015 20:41

It reminds me of Lost - good premise but far too complicated to actually follow and I think it will go through several series and the ending will be shit as it tries to tie up all the loose ends Hmm

yumyumpoppycat · 09/07/2015 21:25

Good premise for one series, but two Hmm am invested now though so will prob watch series 2 Blush

spookyskeleton · 09/07/2015 21:48

yumyum (hi Grin) that is what happened with me and Lost...before I knew it, 7 series had gone by and the ending was bloody awful.

Am not going to watch another series of this because I don't think I actually care about who killed who/who is pregnant/whose baby it is blah blah

yumyumpoppycat · 09/07/2015 22:35

Grin I only have Atlantic for game of thrones anyway!

MajesticWhine · 09/07/2015 22:36

It's only good enough for one series but will probably end up watching series 2.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/07/2015 23:11

I don't care about any of them or their weird lips.

FrankietheSquealer · 09/07/2015 23:32

recyclingbag · 10/07/2015 01:35

I just watched the start of the episode again.

The breakdown man was the one who changed Noah's flat tyre on his way back from Phoebe's house (when he bumped into Oscar) so possibly nothing to do with Scottie's murder.

FrankietheSquealer · 10/07/2015 05:56

Yes. That was bob about breakdown man

Still unclear wtaf he was doing

diddl · 10/07/2015 07:31

So did Noah call out the breakdown man again??

Because why would he want to coverup the time that we do know about?

recyclingbag · 10/07/2015 07:47

Or that he'd never been to The End. There was no need to lie about the first time.

gingercat12 · 11/07/2015 14:46

yumyum Thanks for the link. Sounds intriguing.

tsonlyme · 11/07/2015 17:04

What was that detention for teachers? Is that a thing in America? Why did Helen call it the rubber room?

It was an awful ending to the series but I've enjoyed it overall in a very shallow chewing gum for the eyes kind of way so will definitely watch another series.

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2015 17:38

Yes it is. Apparently they are on full pay and it can go on for years.
