Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2015 16:54

and as usual im working tonight ........ so will avoid this thread from 9pm

ApocalypseNowt · 23/03/2015 16:55

Tell me if treesex relates to Daryl. I'll need to boot out dh, get a babysitter for the dc and get an ice bath ready.

IdaBlankenship · 23/03/2015 17:03

If it's Daryl, it would have to be with Carol though. There can be no-one else for him.... except Rick maybe

brittanyfairies · 23/03/2015 17:05

All I'm saying about the treesex is there is most definitely a tree and a sexual frisson, anything else would be a spoiler. Enjoy!

ApocalypseNowt · 23/03/2015 17:06

True dat Ida Grin

Midori1999 · 23/03/2015 17:29

I've seen it and it was better than I expected, considering I'd already read the synopsis. I'm a bit scared to say too much after spoilergate, but I found the ending annoying. However, I've seen the sneak peeks for the finale and OMFG, OMFG, OMFG!!!!! That is all.

I didn't find the 'tree sex' thing that exciting personally, but won't say any more about it or why until later. I can't wait until it's been on later to discuss properly though! (And if my DC co operate and actually go to bed I can watch it properly!)

limitedperiodonly · 23/03/2015 17:29

I agree with Limited that the Dutch version of The Vanishing movie is absolutely 100% terrifying.

I'm glad you said that HopefulPuffin. I get a bit carried away about horror films and then realise that people are thinking: 'step away from the madwoman now.'

I dragged DH to tiny screening that was packed with my fellow horror nuts.

At the end a woman was trying to get out, obviously trying to hold it together. But it was so packed that she fell over people and then picked herself up and blundered around in the dark screaming until an usher opened a door and showed her the light and she could escape.

I felt very sorry for her but fuck me, that's the benchmark by which I now judge all horror films Grin

If anyone else wants to try it, it might be better to try to find a version with English subtitles on YouTube. There's not lots of dialogue so the subtitles are easy even if you don't like them.

There's a tree sex scene in The Evil Dead, but that's a possessed tree trying to rape one of the obligatory teens who rashly go to spend the weekend in a lonely log cabin looking forward to sex with a non arboreal partner.

I seem to remember one of its rampant roots gets her on the ankle with horrible results.

That's probably not what you mean. It is meant to be a comedy.

This probably isn't the best place to admit that I had nightmares after watching ET

I wasn't scared by ET but I'm going to share my embarrassing ET moment with you vvviola to try and make you feel better.

I went on a work trip to Los Angeles and arranged free passes to the Universal Film Studios theme park. It was my first time on the junket and was too shy to pimp my tickets for friendship (fool, journalists will do anything for a freebie) so I got a cab there on my own and got ushered to the front of every queue with my VIP pass and placed at the front of the ride.

It was embarrassing to be pushed in front of small children by fawning staff but I decided to brazen it out.

I almost lost it when I mounted the lead bike on the ET ride, which is clearly intended for the under-8s Blush.

I felt a bit foolish but it was great.

I now know loads of people on the same junket and we go every year. We hire a 25-seat minibus and shamelessly march to the head of the queue ignoring the tinies' tears.

Roll on 9pm!

I'm on call til midnight. If any women dare to go into labour between now and then they are going to get short fucking shrift. (Jokes! Love my women. But still. Cork it tonight girls).

Haggisfish · 23/03/2015 18:31

There are some spoilers on the daily fail sidebar of shame.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2015 18:47

Boysclothes Grin

I'm still going to leave it till tomorrow. Will have to turn my phone off and give it to Dh or I'll give in. I watch it on NowTV on my phone. Too easy.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 23/03/2015 19:10

limitedperiodonly When I saw the words tree sex I thought of that scene in the Evil Dead too. I thought TWD had taken a whole new turn Grin

limitedperiodonly · 23/03/2015 19:11

Oh God, the pressure Blondes. You might think the film is rubbish. Now I'm chewing my nails for your verdict Wink

It just tapped into a fear and not even as extreme a fear as the poor woman who was fighting to get out of the cinema.

What colour hair does your DH have BTW? You have beautiful platinum. Abraham's head is on fire. Your DH can't possibly be mouse, can he? Or does he have other remarkable qualities? Wink

WHY IS IT NOT 9PM YET!!!!!!

limitedperiodonly · 23/03/2015 19:40

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed There was a rash of horror films in early 80s - the Evil Dead being one of them - which were very good, whether they were campy like The Evil Dead or more straightforward horror like Halloween or Friday The Thirteenth or Nightmare on Elm Street. I liked the first Saw in the '90s too.

I love Alone In The Dark because it is is horrifying and hilarious but its fatal flaw is that it features a child molester so won't get shown on mainstream TV. He babysits to hurt the children but gets the assignment from hell.

Before anyone says, I know that is not the reality and I am not diminishing the hurt of victims. But his comeuppance made me laugh and maybe the makers thought that too.
