On MrsPeabody's advice I've started a new one.

Oh, can't decide whether or not to watch talking dead. It sometimes ruins it for me seeing them out of character Smile

PonyoLovesHam · 01/04/2015 08:33

I love the word zomblie , it's such a cute word in complete contrast to what it's describing Grin

Aridane · 01/04/2015 09:32

Don't think it will ruin it for you seeing them out of character - though it was a bit weird hearing Morgan speaking all South London like. And seeing them all scrubbed up (and, yes, a clean Darryl all suited loses his grimy appeal). Mainly as they talk about their characters and motivation quite a bit.

Carl and Lizzie came across really well in their sessions on the Talking Dead.

Don't particularly like the presenter and whooping audience - but there we go.

Oh - and the presenter does sometimes have to remind the viewers that the the actors aren't the characters - and that the actor who plays Pete is actually a really lovely guy.

Thurlow · 01/04/2015 10:55

Haven't posted before as I'm always a few days behind watching this and hate the spoilers, and haven't managed to catch up with the whole thread yet, but there's one thing that's been seriously bugging me the last few episodes....

So when everyone goes on about how awful life is outside Alexandria, why don't they just give some examples Hmm

It's not like they'd have to think hard about it. Or that the examples are crap. "So there was this one guy who decided he wanted our prison, so he found a rocket launcher and then he sent a van full of walkers into our grounds to take us out that way. And he kidnapped Glenn and Maggie and threatened to rape Maggie. Then there was the group of men who kidnapped some of us and threatened to rape Carl while Rick was watching. Oh, and did I mentioned the group in a community like this one who actually rounded everyone up, stuck them in railway carriages, and slaughtered them for food? Yeah. They tracked us through the woods for a week or so and actually cut one of our guy's legs off and ate it in front of him. And that's just off the top of my head..."

Still. Great series, really picked up the pace the season. Plus I got reminded of all the pretty that was hiding under Rick's beard, which was nice Wink

FannyFifer · 01/04/2015 11:00

Thurlow, yes!

That has been pissing me off as well.

NickiFury · 01/04/2015 11:01

I really enjoyed Talking Dead. The actors really seem to love their characters and working out what motivates them. I like seeing that passion. The bit where Rick/Andrew was talking about how he is so excited can't wait for next season and the story arc with Morgan was great. I wish he'd been on the show as well though but I guess Big Rick doesn't need to do the fluff does he?

Thurlow · 01/04/2015 11:08

Abraham's speech was fantastic but all I could think of was TELL THEM WHAT THAT SHIT ACTUALLY IS!

limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 11:11

I hadn't noticed that thurlow. You're right. If I'd gone through what they have I wouldn't be able to stop myself telling these silly people.

I'm not sure whether they would believe me or if they'd tell themselves I was a bit hysterical.

OP posts:
Thurlow · 01/04/2015 11:17

It's been really pissing me off. Especially the cannibals and the boy-rapers. That's some seriously fucked up stuff.

Also when Deanna was going on about what she'd lost and Maggie just sort of nodded, I wanted her to say "Shut up, woman. My dad got his head lopped off by a madman in front of me and my sister got shot in the head after being kidnapped and held captive by some more random crazies just a month or so back."

BooChunky · 01/04/2015 11:19

It is frustrating that they don't just tell them...

I wonder at this point how many people are actually left alive out there, I suppose it stands to reason there would be a few places like Alexandria, the hospital, terminus etc.

Thurlow · 01/04/2015 11:33

The random people do confuse me and DP when we're watching. Where are they coming from? How are people still surviving this long on their own?

On a completely random note, DD's name is Alexandria. I am finding this all slightly unsettling. Maybe I should just start calling her Safe Zone...

limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 11:47

Yes. Aiden's fate was terrible but if you think rationally, the zombies just do what they do. They don't think. The humans do.

I wouldn't expect someone to see it that way immediately. But if they didn't come round to that way of thinking I'd be very angry.

To spare Deanna's feelings I'd probably lie and tell her that I couldn't save Aiden but I shot him to end his suffering. If she hated me for not wading in, so be it. He was her baby.

In that situation if I allowed myself to think about it I'd feel such sadness for the walkers. I wouldn't feel anger like Aiden and Whathisname? - the name's gone out of my head atm, the one who got Noah killed and tried to kill Glenn.

I certainly wouldn't taunt or torture them. I'd just dispatch them and feel sad, especially if I'd seen people I loved become zombies like Sophia, Herschel and Merle (he came good in the end), or had to stop them turning like Bob and Tyreese. Even Lori and Andrea goddammit!

Do the Alexandrians realise that everybody turns on death?

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 11:53

Aiden and Wotsname taunted them, didn't they? Dangerous and pointless. That's an example of fucked-up thinking and I suspect Deanna knows that.

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 11:57

Plus Aiden's compilation of zombie-killing tracks. He had no fucking clue. I see why Deanna thanked Glenn for dumping him on his arse a few episodes back. If I was his mum I'd have given him a desk job to save him and the rest of us.

OP posts:
glorymorning · 01/04/2015 12:16

Also when Deanna was going on about what she'd lost and Maggie just sort of nodded

No she didn't. She said "we've lost so much more"

limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 13:04

And Sasha hunting the zombies for revenge and then seeming to accept being one of them by lying down in the mass grave.

OP posts:
CrispyFern · 01/04/2015 13:08

New title ZombLie Rave.

(Although shouldn't it be walker rave?)

What I don't get is how come the Wolves seem to keep bumping into so many people all the times to torture and leave as fresh bodies all over the place but our gang hardly ever seemed to bump into random individuals when they were out and about.

CrispyFern · 01/04/2015 13:10

I think the new title should be "Wolves (or Wolefs?) Not Far" actually.

AWimbaWay · 01/04/2015 13:16

I think Morgan will help bring Rick back from the brink. Morgan's 'all life is sacred' might bring back a bit of compassion to the group. I thought Rick looked a bit ashamed when he realised Morgan had witnessed him cold heartedly shooting a held down man in the head.

Aridane · 01/04/2015 13:59

What I never understood was the sheer amount of walkers (zomblies) stumbling around in the woods. On the rare occasion I go for a walk in the woods, I don't keep bumping into people...

limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 14:03

I know. If I was a zombie I'd just stay in. Maybe I am a zombie.

OP posts:
limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 14:05

Or zomblie even

OP posts:
CrispyFern · 01/04/2015 14:23

Yeah that is true, the woods in America are huge too.

limitedperiodonly · 01/04/2015 14:36

When you become one of the risen dead, do you think your nature changes or you retain vestiges of your former self?

I'd be up for shambling about savaging random people who annoyed me but I'm not very gregarious. I've never really been keen on going out in huge gangs or even going to the loo with my best mate.

It strikes me that being a zomblie is like signing up for one of those Carnage pub crawls in Magaluf.

Zombie rave - leave your poncho at the door!

An "AIBU to leave my kids for five minutes while our mayor calls a town meeting" did flit through my mind Grin
