Yay! There's a new thread! I was stalking earlier looking for a new one but was too afraid to start one! Nice to see you join us MrsPeabody.

I can't wait for Sunday/Monday's episode, I think things are starting to get exciting again now and I want to know what is going to happen.

Reporting for duty. duty being licking daryl clean ALL over

Monroe · 06/03/2015 17:58

Checking in.

I've been thinking about how quick they have been to settle into their new roles and start following the alexandrians way of life and it doesn't sit right. They've been self sufficient for so long and only answered to themselves, it's hard to imagine them slotting so quickly back into suburbia and following someone else's rules all of a sudden. The alexandrians need them for protection more than they need the alexandrians. Not sure where I'm going with this! Just think there might be more to it. I get that they would be grateful to be able to rest and eat etc just not getting the sudden obedience!

ApocalypseNowt · 06/03/2015 18:10

I was thinking the same Monroe...Carol and Michonne being the main culprits. I would have thought more of them would be like Daryl is to start with.

I was also surprised how easily Carl fitted in with the other kids. He's been out there killing zombies for years....I thought he'd find the other kids very childish and not be able to get on with them.

Am also concerned at obvious lurve story that will surely happen between Carl and that girl that has also been on the 'outside' till very recently.

IdaBlankenship · 06/03/2015 18:13

Ah, but Carol is faking it. Michonne really wants to stop being on the road, so I think she'll be trying to show how well they can fit in.
I think you are right with Carl though, he is battle scarred so it must be hard for him to be with those fairly cossetted youths.
Also, don't underestimate the powerful lure of hot showers!

RufusTheReindeer · 06/03/2015 18:16

Excellent title, can the next one be

"If Darryl dies, we RIOT"

I thought that was an awesome ending to the last thread Grin

NickiFury · 06/03/2015 18:18

I'm obsessed with this show. Just bought Seasons 1 - 4 as although they've been on Sky, I had to own them for myself.

I genuinely shivered when Rick said they'd take Alexandria for themselves. Find the woman playing Deanna really annoying, real over acting.

Carl has grown into a good looking lad hasn't he, bet the producers are relieved, it's tough and go when kids grow up on a show.

Agree that they've settled in a bit too quick, but maybe that's to make future savagery even more unexpected?

KissMyFatArse · 06/03/2015 18:26

Just joining thread ladies!

I find it hard to like Carl tbh. Still hasn't grown on me. I think the woman who has sort of befriended Rick has some husband issues and he is potential trouble maker. All from the 10 second glimpse we had of him Wink

The husband reminded me of Carol's pig of a husband, Ed. Same vibe.

ProfessorProfessorson · 06/03/2015 18:31

Yes Kiss I agree. He was v suspicious sitting there in a pool of lamplight smoking Grin

NickiFury · 06/03/2015 18:32

One thing that bugged mr and sorry if it's been discussed, is the kids playing inside that could be heard. Surely that would attract walkers in large amounts?

Monroe · 06/03/2015 18:33

Yes, Carol is faking which makes me think there is A PLAN. I'm thinking they've all (or most) agreed beforehand to play meek and mild in order to quickly find out what the real deal is. I was so frustrated for Glenn and the others being told they weren't ready to go on runs yet when that's been their life for the last couple of years. I couldn't imagine them going along with that unless they'd all agreed to play their part. I have every faith in Rick Smile

starsandunicorns · 06/03/2015 18:40

Marking place Smile

EpitomeOfFrump · 06/03/2015 19:04

Maybe Daryl being all unwashed and belligerent is part of the plan too so the Alexandrians watch him closely thinking he is the only troublemaker.

OP posts:
RufusTheReindeer · 06/03/2015 19:21

Oooh yes epitome

Midori1999 · 06/03/2015 19:22

I don't think there being obedient at all. Rick is just going along with things until they suss the place out and Carol is 'undercover'. Grin Helen has punched Monroe's son out and I think Michonne is just jaded and exhausted from being in the road and was previously a loner as she was still hurting so much after the death of her son. Carl is obviously wary too.

It would be nice for the group to have somewhere safe to be, as long as it's not too safe of course, because that would be boring! Grin

Midori1999 · 06/03/2015 19:24

Also, I think Daryl is just uncomfortable with the general 'niceness' of the place. He's never really been used to that kind of lifestyle and the alexandians are exactly the sort of people he would have hated before, just like he hated Rick etc in season 1.
