Anyone watching?

OP posts:
TheDailyWail · 22/02/2015 17:21

American viewers are just about on Episode 13. I do hope we catch up to them.

AesopsMables · 22/02/2015 18:19

So here is my theory...

Bishop is going to stitch Alicia up by either proving that her campaign fund comes from drug money OR she gets wise to this but does not let on until he tries to bring her down, then she double tricks him and he gets sent down. She becomes the heroine (scuse pun?)

Johnny is just sex on legs, Finn is too fresh faced - Alicia will end up bonking Johnny

Cannot wait to try the Alicia drinking game!

ClearlyMoo · 22/02/2015 18:53

Well since Will died and an appropriate period of mourning has been observed there needs to be some sexual chemistry from somewhere. I think Johnny is too young/cool/surfer like and reckon she'll probably go for Finn?!

I loved the dirt dishing/ Jesus choir scenes. They were brilliant!

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 19:05

Yes, this week's episode was a classic!

Nancy66 · 22/02/2015 20:01

I think Finn is going to turn out to be a nasty piece of work. Wonder if he was behind her being breathalysed ?

AesopsMables · 22/02/2015 20:08

Love triangle between Johnny/Peter and Alicia would be much better viewing than Finn/Peter and Alicia Wink

DustBunnyFarmer · 22/02/2015 22:28

Yes, Johnny seems like the kind not to be cowed by Peter. He's seen it all before. I think it is also significant that they did not go through the dirt on Peter in the initial meeting with Johnny. I reckon there is a lot more dirt to come & Johnny will remind Peter of it if there is ever any confrontation. Let's face it, Peter can hardly take the moral high ground. If Alicia wants to shag someone else, he can't really object.

HalleLouja · 23/02/2015 22:04

I quite fancied Finn in that episode more so than Johnny. Though I wouldn't kick Johnny out of bed for farting.

I loved that episode. In fact I totally love Eli but more in a way I'd like him to be my older brother / uncle.

Have now caught up. Which in a way I am sad about as can no longer binge on GW.

The intern's mum was pretty hot. Not sure if she has shagged Mr Big though.

DustBunnyFarmer · 23/02/2015 23:04

Oh come on Halle! I think its a dead cert.

Duckdeamon · 24/02/2015 06:49

Alicia didn't seem to question her and peters parenting, why Zach didn't feel able to tell them about his gf's abortion. Which seemed quite cold. She also refused to listen to his feelings about her running for office. He is a private citizen who has been through the media mill because of his dad and now she is putting him in a position to have his and his ex gf's private life in public.

And why didn't she ask for the dirt on Peter?

Duckdeamon · 24/02/2015 06:50

Grin quenelle, running......round the block!

Another reason I like Alicia is we have never seen her exercising, excluding sex!

DustBunnyFarmer · 24/02/2015 07:14

Unless sex counts as exercise, which would mean we haven't seen her exercise since will died.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 24/02/2015 09:06

I know, it's been a long time since she got any exercise Sad

Duckdeamon · 24/02/2015 12:17

I never got why she ended things with will (long before he died?) it seemed to be out of guilt about her time and attention for her DC.

Pooseyfrumpture · 24/02/2015 21:09

I thought she got lots of election bus exercise with Peter?

DustBunnyFarmer · 24/02/2015 21:17

Well remembered, Poosey.

I think Johnny would offer a better workout plan than Finn, but I could be wrong.

Italiangreyhound · 24/02/2015 23:55

Duckdeamon re I never got why she ended things with will (long before he died?) it seemed to be out of guilt about her time and attention for her DC. I agree, she was crazy. I think it was shock at thinking Grace had disappeared and Peter pulled out all the stops to find her (yet good old Kalinda came through for her).

I think in the end Alicia sacrificed her love for Will for her ambition. She has become quite power crazed! Not as 'nice' as she used to be. I think it is because so many people want her to be at the top, she has bought into it all.

Bishop is going to so control her!

Duckdeamon · 25/02/2015 08:10

Ambition over love eh?

Yes, bishop is very menacing. The actor is very good looking isn't he, and good at playing charmingly chilling.

A friend from Chicago says its a pretty corrupt place in RL! Would love to go, she raves about the food!

Italiangreyhound · 25/02/2015 17:16

Duckdeamon I'd love to know what the significance of Chicago is! They mention it a lot. A Chicago jury will indite a ham sandwich, I want to teach you where you live - Chicago - etc etc.

Nice scene a while back of Will running by what I suspect was Lake Michigan.

I think Alicia started out being about love and family and has ended up being about ambition!

DustBunnyFarmer · 25/02/2015 17:47

Thing is, if she was a male character we would not even think to comment on it. We need to get past thinking ambition is unfeminine. Alicia as a character is an extremely able and credible lawyer, more so than her dunderhead husband. Why shouldn't she have ambitions for political office? She is more able than many of the "successful" men around her Why is it ambition so unacceptable in a woman? I wish there were more women like Diane and Alicia in high office. I also think it is fabulous that shows like this exist now - such a positive message for young women. I was about 18 and watching Aliens (gotta love Ripley) before I saw a female character excelling in a stereotypically male setting and on her own terms. I remember being blown away by it.

Duckdeamon · 25/02/2015 18:47

I think we might well think to comment on it if she were a male character who dumped the person they loved for no apparent reason! Agree that it's great to see an ambitious, capable, successful female character (Diane is also great for this), but would be even better if she had a lover too! (Just not the odious Peter)

And she is a single parent too - we never see Peter doing much with the teen DC.

Italiangreyhound · 25/02/2015 21:51

Duckdeamon Diane perused the man she loved even though it was actually bad for her professional life.

If you watch a lot of episodes in a row -as I have! Blush you see that none of them do anything much not about the law! they rarely eat or do anything 'food or drink based' aside from drink wine, shots and coffee!

I actually feel Alicia has changed a lot as the series progressed. Maybe that is good but she just seems so different. I remembered the series as being all about her affair with Will but actually she only had a sexual relationship with him for a few episodes. It was all angst ridden longing!

Duckdeamon · 26/02/2015 16:30

That's all true italiangreyhound.

They are not showing the Chicago food! Perhaps there is no budget left due to all their extensive wardrobes.

There was a lasagne cooked by Alicia and peter's mums in the last episode of series 5 Grin

Italiangreyhound · 26/02/2015 17:02

yes and a cake!

So who do you think Alicia will 'cop off with next'? I think it will be Jonny very good looking new chappie and Fin will be forgotten, or maybe he will pursue her!

bluelamp · 26/02/2015 21:03

Elspeth Tasioni!!!!
