Anyone watching?

OP posts:

I can see what you mean Bue about the new dynamics with Geneva et al but I like her being a lawyer. Although the balance of character screen time might swing a little more away from Alicia to include more of Diane etc then I suppose.
I'd prefer Alicia as lawyer and Prady as SA. I also think a loss would see her less politically motivated and therefore less tied to Peter which would be nice to see!

DustBunnyFarmer · 14/05/2015 21:12

Jonny AND Finn at Alicia's place. Awkward, but appealing viewing.

Bowednotbroken · 14/05/2015 21:25

Warning! Next week's Radio Times carries the result of the election!! It was only a glance but the words are indelibly burned on my memory - very frustrating. Don't look!

HalleLouja · 14/05/2015 22:04

I can't believe Jonny left and that Finn is seeing someone well its me obviously. Jonny is obviously not happy with the whole Peter bit but neither are well all here on MN.

I felt for Jonny.

It was nice that we got to say bye to Prady. He was a good character.

DustBunnyFarmer · 14/05/2015 23:00

I did wonder if it would hit the headlines that Alicia spent election day gunning down soldiers in Halo, given her stance on gun crime. I'll admit to zero knowledge on online multiplayer gaming, but they seemed to be on open channels and other people could overhear their election chitchat plus Alicia's use of her own name rather than a 'handle', so it wouldn't take much to identify her or make a story of her arranging a lunch date withFinn (i.e. Stepping out on Peter). Have I missed the point spectacularly? I still think it was a funny conceit - and a well chosen gift.

PooSweats84 · 15/05/2015 08:50

Oooh never thought of that DustBunny ! That'd be interesting!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 15/05/2015 12:13

What's happened to her hair?Confused If it's a wig it needs an update and if it's her own hair she needs a new stylist imo

SpanishFly · 15/05/2015 17:06

I'm not sure Finn is genuinely "seeing someone"??

DustBunnyFarmer · 15/05/2015 19:57

It was great how they subtly paused after they terminated their call and were equally troubled by Finn's revelation, like it had brought them both up short/prompted a realisation. I love this show. There's so much in what is not said, almost as much as the dialogue.

I also loved the Dianne bagged her own big game by being her usual opinionated Democratic self.

(I take no responsibility for any typos or drivel above - after work Mojitos etc)

oneowlgirl · 16/05/2015 00:36

Totally agree DustBunny.

I don't get the Kalinda / Bishop thing?? I want more of the blonde investigator & legal shenanigans!

DustBunnyFarmer · 16/05/2015 09:43

Can Bishop really leave the business? Anyone care to hazard a guess about how that story line will play out? Has Alicia kept enough distance to remain unimpeachable over her connection with Bishop?

fussychica · 16/05/2015 18:09

This series seems to have lost it's way. The writers seem to be trying to keep our interestby trying new stuff but it's all over the place. It's gone from one of my fav progs to a bit of a chore - never thought I'd say that about this programme!

Howaboutthisone · 16/05/2015 18:56

I'm confused! All that celebrating seemed to be on the back of a news station's 'predictions'. And I'm pretty sure that is UK viewers know that you can't really trust the exit polls etc. or did I miss something and they actually announced the result after counting the vote too?!

Howaboutthisone · 16/05/2015 18:57

Us not is!

DustBunnyFarmer · 16/05/2015 18:58

I don't know. Some of the random stuff has been really funny - Grace's Christian choir parading through the house and bursting into song when Alicia was being serious was hilarious. I thought the Halo stuff this week was really fun too, as was Diane's hunting trip. I'm going with it. The legal beagle stuff will be back on track soon, I'm sure.

One thing that bugs me is that no-one has twigged Peter and Alicia's sham marriage yet. They must have a much less nosey gutter press in Chicago, as they don't even live together and are rarely seen together.

Tagetes · 17/05/2015 09:15

I loved the in-jokes and references to The West Wing in the last couple of episodes. The fake Toby Zeigler email address for drumming up money for the PAC, having to resort to Carol (CJ's PA) rather than the president when they needed a voice for the robocall, and then just dropping her when things moved on. Brilliant!

DustBunnyFarmer · 17/05/2015 09:21

I wondered if the Mrs Laningham stuff was a bit close to the bone - the actress died fairly recently.

Pooseyfrumpture · 17/05/2015 16:17

To have Carol on there and then the Republican shooting guy being the White House lawyer was also hilarious Smile

Tagetes · 17/05/2015 18:40

Oh yes: Oliver Babish! I must admit I thought the actress playing Mrs Landingham had died when they wrote her out of the TWW Confused

drinkscabinet · 17/05/2015 23:13

Just caught up. Can't believe they've got rid of Johnny, his puppy dog eyes were getting quite appealing (although I love Finn and like how they are such good friends).

I'm loving all of Diane's stories this series, and agreed loved that she got the work by not compromising herself. Wonder if Kurt knew exactly what he was doing?

HalleLouja · 18/05/2015 16:45

The whole Finn being embarrassed about seeing someone was a funny interlude. I think the Halo storyline was there for humour rather than a pre-cursor to something.

Howaboutthisone · 18/05/2015 18:45

I have to admit that whilst I'm happy for Alicia and the validation I would imagine she gets from a victory ( disclaimer that I'm still confused about that as I really felt that all the celebrating was based purely on predictions!) I'm still a bit disappointed that we won't get her back as a lawyer with Prady as her friend/ nemesis. I hope it's not the last we see of the Prady character.

DustBunnyFarmer · 18/05/2015 18:51

Wonder if Kurt knew exactly what he was doing?

Excellent theory. I like it!

OnlyLovers · 21/05/2015 14:41

I'm really disappointed that Alicia won. I know that sounds churlish Grin but I just want to see her being a lawyer. I can't imagine how the show will work if she gets relegated to more of a bit part, the way that previous DAs have.

Her and Finn's storyline CANNOT be over. I'll be gutted if it is. They belong together!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 21/05/2015 18:42

Same as How about I'm confused how she won about a minute after the election finished? Was it exit polls or do they have a computerised system or something? Or has she not won yet?
