Anyone watching?

OP posts:
OnlyLovers · 22/04/2015 16:21

Oh, hang on, I'm talking about a different person. D'oh. Grin

I thought you meant Diane's husband, but you mean the guy who was got in to be their accountant/auditor/whatever, when they had to make cuts, don't you?

Although I don't remember him in the last episode either. Confused You DO mean the chap with glasses? Slightly bumbling?

LegsOfSteel · 22/04/2015 18:13

Still don't quite understand why the got David back? I can't remember what Chumhum man said when he fired Diane and Cary.

HalleLouja · 22/04/2015 18:56

Was the accountant guy called Clarke? Played by Nathan Lane. He needs to come back.

HalleLouja · 22/04/2015 19:00

No Nathan Lane. Otherwise engaged. Sad

SpanishFly · 22/04/2015 19:09

David Lee is the lawyer who they asked back.

Legs when the Chumhum guy fired them, they realised they'd lost a multimillion dollar contract which may ruin them. However David Lee had just earned a huge pay packet for winning the 100 million for the wife. It was the only way to offset what they'd just lost.

OnlyLovers · 22/04/2015 19:19

Oh yes, Nathan Lane. Love him. What a pity he doesn't look like he's coming back.

AnnPerkins · 22/04/2015 19:28

Twenty-two episodes? Yippee! Grin

I had it in my head it was the last one tomorrow. Must get more Wine in.

Is anyone going to give Madame Secretary a try? I'm hoping for a cross between The Good Wife and the West Wing. Or it could be like Veep but less funny.

LegsOfSteel · 22/04/2015 21:53

Thanks spanish
But surely David Lee's fee from that case will be his (or his old firm's). Or do they think he'll bring Chumhum ex-wife's business with him? But why should she follow David - he is a family lawyer so she shouldn't need him again for a while. And he'd have to buy into the partnership but so would any other partner - so why choose him?

oneowlgirl · 22/04/2015 22:37

I've got Madame Secretary in for series record - hope it's good!

Duckdeamon · 22/04/2015 22:49

High expectations there annperkins! Worth giving it a go!

Josh Charles has just been in a comedy sketch about rape with comedian Amy Schumer (?) not seen but has been lots about it online, sounds controversial!

SpanishFly · 22/04/2015 22:52

But David now had the cash to buy a stake in the business.
Also the ex wife had/has been having an affair with Chumhum's biggest competitor so they probably just wanted to exploit all business opportunities.

(Is it only me who can't abide the name Chumhum? It just sounds like someone who knows nothing about the Internet has tried to come up with a "cool" website name)

OnlyLovers · 23/04/2015 14:39

I hate 'Chumhum' too. It's toe-curling. That's probably the only thing I don't like about this show, actually –their ham-fisted attempts at being 'cool' or 'sexy' or 'edgy'.

See also the episodes that start with loud 'teen' music or online footage, and sex scenes generally but particularly that boring boring storyline with Kalinda and her husband.

DustBunnyFarmer · 23/04/2015 19:13

Is anyone going to give Madame Secretary a try?

I'm going to give it a go.

I think the move back to the old LG offices saves them a bundle on new sets. The reason for relocating there may be something as prosaic as cost.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 23/04/2015 22:30

This week's episode is dire, ridiculous British accents and Mr Sweeny double in the dockHmm

oneowlgirl · 23/04/2015 23:30

I was just coming on to ask what was the point of tonight's episode??? Truly shit!

Did Alicia accept Redmaynes money? Prady walking out on him was probably the best bit in tonight's episode!

Travelledtheworld · 24/04/2015 04:26

Worst episode this season. I also hate Colin Sweeney.
Did like the Scene where Bishop phoned the bully boys Mum though.
Kalinda thought he was going to have the kid killed !

Travelledtheworld · 24/04/2015 04:35

Diane's husband, Kurt McVeigh, will appear again soon, according to U.S. Blog. Hooray !

DustBunnyFarmer · 24/04/2015 06:35

DH and I felt the Colin Sweeney thing was a bum note, especially the "actor" cameo.

The Kalinda/Bishop thing was interesting. DH thinks Bishop is actually quite lonely. We both think Kalinda's relationship with Dylan will protect her and has significantly reduced her chances of being whacked by Bishop's henchmen.

Also, Grace and Wobbly Alicia at the end - awww.

When I think about it, loneliness due to role/position was a recurring theme - the Alicia/Prady scene too.

Howaboutthisone · 24/04/2015 06:39

Agreed that it wasn't the best episode but I think that the best part was the kalinda bishop but. It'll be very interesting to see how that develops. I know we're fed up of kalinda sex scenes but I could cope with seeing more of bishop Wink

DustBunnyFarmer · 24/04/2015 06:43

DH and I watched Madam Secretary immediately afterwards on +1. It was rather good and Tea Leoni was great - will be series linking & having an awesome female lead double bill every Thursday.

Duckdeamon · 24/04/2015 07:10

I don't want any more sex scenes even if it would mean seeing more of Beautiful Bad Bishop!

Not sure about madam secretary: Tea Leoni good but it just felt a bit cliched, but early days!

Travelledtheworld · 24/04/2015 09:29

yes, I agree Dustbunnyfarmer Bishop is lonely.
He has no friends because everyone is afraid of him and he doesn't know how to build a relationship on love and trust.

Even though he loves his son Dylan, he orders him around and doesn't trust him.

SpanishFly · 24/04/2015 17:18

Ahhhh Bishop. What an amazingly beautiful man. Sigh.

Anyway, the Colin Sweeney thing was utter bollocks. Just appalling. The acting, the plot, everything. Awful. The programme deserves better than such a crap courtroom script.

I do like the Kalinda and Lemond storyline. And I also love his shelf of shiny wine glasses. I think I'll get a floating shelf for my glasses too.

BuzzardBird · 24/04/2015 17:24

I can't remember. Did Bishop kill his wife?

DustBunnyFarmer · 24/04/2015 18:49

Just asked DH about this. He says he thinks the "Bishop killed his wife" thing is new and we have no idea whether there's any basis to it, or whether it's just the playground bully being an arse.

I have to say, I was so turned off by the crappy Sweeney plot that I hardly watched it last night - or at least I was MNing and only half paying attention. I might have to re-watch in case I missed anything.
