As someone else said, the last one was a wasted opportunity.

I would like to give tickets to:

Simon
Chesney & girlfriend
Faye
All the Windasses
Tracey-Luv
Michelle
Sawphie
Owen
Kal and all his family

Plenty more seats available, feel free to add some more passengers!

I thought Anna was cruel the way she dismissed Owen so easily (not that I like him either) and looked very smug.

theliverpoolone · 10/04/2015 22:03

I really felt for Owen tonight. Anna had no thought or care about what Faye might want. I would have expected the social worker to have talked to Faye privately, not with Anna answering for her continually.

Akire · 10/04/2015 22:11

That was a very quick relationship ending, first chat and bags packed. But he does bring a lot of agro.

eddiemairswife · 10/04/2015 22:15

I too thought the social worker would have talked to Faye alone, or at least with fewer people around. I'm surprised they didn't rope in Izzie, and fly Katie back from Portugal to join the merry throng.

Southeastdweller · 10/04/2015 22:15

I also felt for Owen. And how does Anna think she's going to manage looking after a baby and Faye when she gives up work and doesn't have Owen's income?

Akire · 10/04/2015 22:20

Strange to that then social worker asked what will you do for money? Huh? Same as most people on their own an no money I guess claim benefits! Plus they are talking like Faye might not go back to school, dosnt she have to by law? Not sure if you can just say no I'm staying home thought the would arrange a nursery place.

jkdnanny · 10/04/2015 23:03

I did feel sorry for Owen tonight. He did have a point re faye. Though he might have been better bringing it up another time and not when the social worker was there. They could have then gone to the sw with whatever was decided.
But nobody has sat and had a conversation with faye, other than the ones trying to find out who the dad is. No wonder she is confused. Theres been no conversations discussing the keeping it secret, no conversations trying to figure out the logistics of a new baby.

Sarah Harding is playing the wife of an ex husband of Tracy's. Confused

thenightsky · 10/04/2015 23:25

Tracy has only been married to steve... hasn't she?

theliverpoolone · 10/04/2015 23:38

That scene with Tracy and Faye - surely an adult wouldn't be that mean to a child, not even Tracy Hmm

eddiemairswife · 10/04/2015 23:38

I've looked on Corriepedia. Tracy married a Robert Preston and moved to London. When they split up she came back to Weatherfield (with a different head!).

theliverpoolone · 10/04/2015 23:42

Tracy was married to someone called Robert Preston acc to Wikipedia. I vaguely remember it being when she was played by a different actress and was a bit goth-y.

theliverpoolone · 10/04/2015 23:42

X-posts Eddie!

AgathaChristie01 · 10/04/2015 23:57

I watched the episode, on dvd, in the last year or so, where Tracy returned with some tale about her husband. Only for that, I wouldn't have recalled that she was married to someone, somewhere...
I think I will be turning to the DVDs more, really don't like what Corrie has become. It aggravates me more than it entertains me. I didn't even watch tonight Sad

I'm disappointed with what has happened to the longer term characters - they have become caricatures. Sally was always a bit of a snob, trying to be better than everyone else - but now she appears to be a dim snob. She was never portrayed as brainless before. Same for Gail - she has always had poor choice in men, and been let down - now she has to act needy and whiney/dependent. The Ken/Audrey thing seems to be incredibly forced and awkward too (the Anna Karenin plot)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2015 08:13

Sally has never been very bright IMO, I don't think she has changed much. Gail has definitely lost her way though, too many highly contrived storylines surrounding her family over the last few years. They need to have only one major storyline per family at a time, she's got the Gavin thing, the Callum thing, Sarah and Bethany back (which is adding nothing to the show), plus Nick and Audrey lining up new romances, it's too much.

That has happened at times with Owen/Anna and co too, at least they've only got the baby story at the moment. I felt for Owen too last night, but you have to remember how vile he can be. I had assumed Anna was going to dump him over the assault on Craig, not the baby. They all need to step back a bit and give Faye some space, while actually listening to her, poor girl.

qazxc · 11/04/2015 08:15

You would have thought that when Faye was saying she was a freak someone would have pointed out that it happened to Gail's daughter too. In fact you would have thought that maybe someone would have had a chat with gail, esp as step gran sally and her are best mates.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2015 08:17

Another thing about Gail, why does she stick with just working as a cleaner in Nick's bistro, she used to run a cafe with Alma, she could do better, she just seems to be there as a scapegoat for all her children to put her down and not have much life of her own. Does Les Dennis live with her? He isn't around much at the moment.

ajandjjmum · 11/04/2015 08:53

You would have thought that Sarah-Lou would have popped over to see Faye, and said 'been there, if you want to talk, just give me a shout'. I know Faye doesn't know her, but surely human empathy would make you do that under these circumstances?

Think Sophie is being lovely.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2015 09:03

Sophie seems to have really matured (unlike her mother), she's better when she's not at the centre of things just helping others out without being all do-goodery like in the past.

MadgeFinn · 11/04/2015 10:17

I agree about Sophie, I used to mute the TV when she was on but I don't mind ner now she's not as full on.
Faye has never been nice has she. Shes never been pleasant, but I wish she'd just smile every now and then.

theliverpoolone · 11/04/2015 10:21

Agree about Sarah. There seems no point to her and Bethany arriving on the Street at exactly the same time Faye has her baby unless they bring the character's together. I actually hope the story does progress with Faye giving the baby up for adoption - am sick of all these characters having babies then carrying on their lives as if the baby doesn't exist.

ArcangelaTarabotti · 11/04/2015 10:29

qazxc - yes re the scriptwriters! Grin
Also agree about odd that the SW would have seen Faye with a cast of thousands there. And where is the Health Visitor? And why is the baby being given bottles - depressing how soaps always wimp out on BFing.
And what time of day was all this? Assumed 'dinner' meant evenin meal, but the it appeared to be lunchtime with the SW being just gone and the café scene, but then after the meal Carla said goodnight to Nick...
Also, given that only 5 mins ago Linda was regretting the years she had missed the girls growing up, youda thought Anna might have given that to Owen as ammunition for keeping the baby...
Scriptwriters really ought to run this all by us first...Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 11/04/2015 10:48

I would inagine Faye has refused point blank to BF. Even if she wants nothing to do with her, you would imagine she would be physicslly tired, emotional, hormones etc. Perhaps she has totally shut down as a defence mechanism. You would also have thought that Anna would be so horrified with herself for not realising her daughter was pregnant that she'd be all over Faye, but she's too busy being heroic with looking after the baby. Although she's probably in massive shick too. Not the best time to make lifechanging decisions about your relationship with your DP even if he is prone to random acts of shitty behaviour.

jkdnanny · 11/04/2015 10:48

Well in some areas of the country 'dinner' is lunch time ie instead of breakfast, lunch and dinner its breakfast dinner and tea. I'm sure Manchester would say dinner and tea but it doesn't explain why Carla/nick were saying goodnight.
I cant stand tracey. I know shes prob meant to be the equivalent of eastenders Janine butcher but people still liked Janine as there was certain vulnerability traits and you knew she was a bit messed up. But tracey is just awful. But maybe its because shes played with someone who isn't great at acting.
