Episode 2? *tootles off

Fairylea · 10/02/2015 21:08

I am so enjoying this! Love Saul :) :)

Dh and I are going to watch episode 2 tomorrow when he's at home (he's working late tonight). Really enjoyed episode 1 !

RessyMedHair · 10/02/2015 21:13

watched 'em.

Can't stand the wait!

HumphreyCobbler · 10/02/2015 22:16

I LOVED episode two. Just brilliant

debbriana · 10/02/2015 22:56

Am watching this right now on Netflix and fills like breaking bad. The only difference is I haven't seen water white or Jesse.

Tucco is crazy

BOFster · 11/02/2015 00:11

That was fantastic! How am I going to wait almost a week for another one?

ProfessorProfessorson · 11/02/2015 08:59

Binge-watching has ruined me, BOFster. I find it so hard now just watching ONE episode of something and then having to WAIT Shock for the next Grin

It does feel quite similar to BB. The mix of humour and horror is beautiful. How tense were those opening 20 minutes as Saul negotiated down from hideous death to "one broken leg each" Shock

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 09:06

Very similar, also great to have some of the same characters. And I actually prefer it without Skyler and prefer Saul to Walt.

Love Saul. The second one was very good.

brittanyfairies · 11/02/2015 10:06

Will I have to have watched Breaking Bad to enjoy this or is it a good standalone? I saw it on Netflix and was going to give it a try.

House of Cards is back next week - now I love that.

FrozenAteMyDaughter · 11/02/2015 10:23

I don't think you need to have watched Breaking Bad brittany. In fact it may even be better without any preconceptions, particularly if it continues to follow a recognisable pattern.

For the beginning of the first episode, it might be worth knowing that (as far as we can tell at this stage) the part where he has a mustache is set after BB, but I don't think we are sure about that? The rest of the episodes so far definitely predate BB and, given the presence of videotapes in the courtroom in the first episode, is meant to be quite a few years ago.

I am LOVING it so far and have no idea how I am going to watch it week-on-week. DH suggested leaving it and binge-watching it like we did for BB, but I think I am too hooked already to drop it now unfortunately.

ChoochiWoo · 11/02/2015 11:25

I think without BB you will miss a lot of the refrences , but not the end of the world Bob Odenkirk is a good.actor.

ChoochiWoo · 11/02/2015 11:26

I think i read its set in 2002 or something could be wrong.

jeanswithatwist · 11/02/2015 12:00

i really value all MN's views so was thrilled to see that you guys seem to LOVE it. dh and i are rewatching breaking bad (few episodes into season 5..) so are saving up the BCS for after. we are REALLY loving rewatching bb, despite knowing what is coming it still packs one almighty punch. STILL easily the best thing i have ever seen on tv, even dh feels the same which is saying something as he is critical about tv stuff

Bumbiscuits · 11/02/2015 12:56

Loved the first two episodes. I watched the first episode twice Smile

I'm missing not being able to binge watch BCS as per BB.

satsumasunrise · 11/02/2015 14:43

The restaurant scene with the breadsticks was fanatastic.

BOFster · 11/02/2015 16:45

We watched the first BB again after seeing Better Call Saul, jeanswithatwist Grin. It's long enough ago to enjoy them again, I think, especially as they are now up on Netflix and we aren't messing around trying to find the right discs from burning them off American sites.

MrsFring · 11/02/2015 17:26

Am finding Saul powerfully attractive; it was the semi- rescuing of the boys that did it. Please tell me it's not just me.

jeanswithatwist · 11/02/2015 17:50

BO are you going to bulk watch? i nag dh each night to watch more than one and on the odd occasion he has agreed to watch two episodes. i myself could EASILY watch 3/4. i didn't think it would be this gripping the second time around but it is. last night i could barely watch it (episode when todd shoots the kid on the bike). dd has been packed off to bed at a sensible time since we have been watching it...Grin i begin to get excited to watch the next episode when it gets to about 5pm (i don't get out much...)

MrsFring · 11/02/2015 18:01

Just me then.

SurlyCue · 11/02/2015 18:51

Am finding Saul powerfully attractive; it was the semi- rescuing of the boys that did it. Please tell me it's not just me.

Its not just you! Grin i am really loving Saul even more than in BB. Its great seeing the inner turmoil going on and knowing he isnt just a money hungry crook.

SurlyCue · 11/02/2015 18:53

Also i am really glad they are doing weekly episodes because i have exams on right now and i know i would just bulk watch it all and fail my course Grin

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2015 18:54

I'd watch it too quickly too.

I love him as an actor. Love his insecurities.

BOFster · 11/02/2015 19:31

Oh, Breaking Bad is made for bingewatching. I can do three or four at a time, easily Grin

GatoradeMeBitch · 11/02/2015 19:37

So far I'm enjoying this just as much as BB. I know a show is good when I have to keep pausing because it's so tense!

MsRyanGosling · 11/02/2015 19:44

The breadsticks Grin
