The babies are always younger than 10 days old btw

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/02/2015 16:55

I always assumed that they had some sort of make-up gloop that they use, to give that 'just emerged' look to the babies.

ShelaghTurner · 04/02/2015 17:08

They do. I forget now what it is but yes of course the babies are made up to look recently emerged!

SoupDragon · 04/02/2015 17:27

They also use CGI to avoid the need for excessive make up on newborn babies. They did this with the spina bifida storyline

HoraceCope · 04/02/2015 17:39

I wonder if the parents get paid, I guess they do? for their new borns first appearance.
is this Elstree Studios anyone know?

HoraceCope · 04/02/2015 17:40

and anyway I was sure black babies arent generally born so dark?

I was thinking that Doctor Turners wife, Sister Bernadette as was, can't recall her new, or should that be old, name, really shouldn't have been smoking. Not after her lung related illness!

girliefriend · 04/02/2015 18:30

MrsDeVere I laughed at that episode as well!! I have only met one mixed race newborn (mum was white, dad was from Uganda) and tbh as a newborn their dd did look very white!! No idea if that is typical though Grin

ShelaghTurner · 04/02/2015 18:51

mammuzzamia Ahem ^ :o

mammuzzamia · 04/02/2015 19:07

That's it! Grin

ppeatfruit · 05/02/2015 08:00

They 'make up' the new borns?? I definitely wouldn't allow that to happen to my pfb and the 2 others actually!!!

I speak as a dm who did put her pfb on the stage Grin Blush

I reckon that there is a great deal of variety in the colour of ALL newborns!!

misdee · 05/02/2015 18:50

I love call the midwife.

But finding I am crying every bloomin week due to my own pregnancy hormones.

dancestomyowntune · 06/02/2015 01:00

The trouble being, under all the lighting and in front of the cameras I am pretty sure the newborn babies would look extremely pale/almost blue (dd2 was very blue WITHOUT the presence of strong film lighting!)

Oodbrain · 06/02/2015 08:13

Misdee blast from the past! How many does that make?

(You probably don't recognise me as I'm a serial name changer but I remember the night of Pink Peter)

Number 7. 6th girl.

What's issues are being tackled on Sundays episode? Anyone know? Will Trixies drinking feature heavily? Is Nurse Crane/train nasty or nice?

I might have to rewatch previous series if on demand service has them. Just because...

Or ask for the DVDs for my birthday

BertieBotts · 06/02/2015 22:23

They're on netflix if you have that.

ShelaghTurner · 06/02/2015 22:26

Trixie and Tom have a few things to sort out, emergency birth for Sr MJ and Shelagh, think Sr Winifred tries to tackle the issue of sexual health amongst prostitutes or something.

misdee · 06/02/2015 22:27

Hopefully I won't be sobbing uncontrollably before my anti-d jab on Monday morning then :)

misdee · 06/02/2015 22:29

Don't currently have Netflix as dh signed up to bt on demand service. They sometimes have them on there though so will check at the weekend if back on.

ilovechristmas1 · 08/02/2015 20:07

Oodbrain · 08/02/2015 20:09
