IAmAPaleontologist · 10/03/2015 15:10

Mrs Jay I was gobsmacked there for a moment!

IAmAPaleontologist · 10/03/2015 15:14

How on Earth did you manage to confuse yourself quite that much?

Lilliput · 10/03/2015 15:21

It was Melissa George who played Angel not the actress who is Patsy.

Mrsjayy · 10/03/2015 15:43

I googled Helen George (yes I now know it's trixie) Google showed me Melissa George who looks slightly like patsy I got over excited and posted

Thanks will have a look on there. It's an interesting topic already thinking ahead to dissertation I've agreed to write something for a Uni journal though I plan to rehash one of my assignments in a slightly different direction rather than from scratch

Mrsjayy · 11/03/2015 08:43

NotChimpandZeeagain · 12/03/2015 17:32

I know I have come very late to this - only just watched the last episode today - but it feels a bit like the medical care is "how we wish it was" with the staff attitudes. I could be wrong though. Probably am...

For me, I found the sad ending for Patsy and Delia quite heartbreaking. Especially Patsy going back to the flat alone and cleaning it all up. I don't know whether that was supposed to show from her childhood that so many people had died or been lost to her, she kind of felt like it had to be that way. Sad

Hygellig · 13/03/2015 10:08

I guessed the thalidomide story was coming when I read in the Radio Times that Dr Turner suggested a new drug to help with severe morning sickness. So sad to think of the unsuspecting mothers taking it. Will the next series be dealing with thalidomide babies?

I really wish they could have let Delia and Patsy just be happy. It could have been interesting to see their relationship develop. Why do so many people in dramas have to have lethal or near-lethal accidents? Not saying that everything should be sugar-coated, but predictable Casualty-esque accidents that just make things sad.

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon · 13/03/2015 10:13

Are we at the end now?

Is this series over??

iklboo · 13/03/2015 10:42

Yes it was the last one last Sunday.

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon · 13/03/2015 11:36

Will they do a new series?

This one was a bit odd. Lots of unresolved episodes. Plots weren't as tight.

ShelaghTurner · 13/03/2015 11:40

Yes series 5 starts filming in May. They had S5 confirmed before S4 started filings last year. Hence this is the first year that they've been able to carry over storylines rather than tidying them up at the end of the series.

ShelaghTurner · 13/03/2015 11:41

*started filming

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 15/03/2015 17:08

Sunnymeg · 26/12/2015 17:41

Did anyone watch the Christmas special last night? I really enjoyed it. I thought Judy Parfitt and Victoria Hamilton were excellent. Also I ended up in tears as we have friends who named their daughter the same name, for a very similar reason to last night's plot. Looking forward to the new series now.

crabb · 27/12/2015 10:35

Yes, we just watched it, a day later here in Oz. I thought it was pretty good too! Was certainly a bit schmalzy but they carried it off very well, and hey, it's Christmas!! You're right about Judy Parfitt, she's excellent.
