Poor Dot Hmm hopefully they will get rid of nick once and for all after this story line. I also can't imagine Dot killing Nick. But far fetched isn't it. And surely we have had enough deaths!

I assume once all this is over the focus will be on the carters and the baby.

What is happening with Lee and the army? Has he left now?

Harverina · 11/01/2015 16:29

Wasn't Jane at masoods the night Lucy died?

buddhasbelly · 11/01/2015 16:31

Soup good point, jane doesn't really have an alibi as such. All we have from her is months after Lucy is murdered she provides Lauren an alibi. Why had she not said where she was up until the point. In fact why wouldn't she have said sooner that Lauren had lied in her statement? And she hid the phone etc...I've switched to the Jane camp now I reckon.

buddhasbelly · 11/01/2015 16:32

Harverina but we've never heard masood or anyone else of that household actually confirm that, or have we and I've forgotten?

SoupDragon · 11/01/2015 16:54

Is she the only one who hasn't provided an alibi?

buddhasbelly · 11/01/2015 17:03

Erm yeah come to think of it she is...ok some of the other ones have been lies (Lauren turning up at the Beale's, Iain saying he was at the restaurant) but they have all provided one on first instance. Did jane say she was away with Bobby or anything or did she just not say at all where she was and I just assumed she said she was away?

I need to watch the episode after Lucy was killed, unless anyone else can shed light on this?

BeCool · 11/01/2015 17:05

Jane has acted very out of character since the murder.

youarekiddingme · 11/01/2015 18:33

Not sure about Abi or Lauren but I guess that's where Jay and Ben might come into things, would they be stupid enough to be involved with another murder after poor Hev though.

There was a scene where Jay had hat in hands or had been watching CCTV when he was in phone to Ben (IIRC it was on phone and Ben wasn't actually there) where he said "you always seem to drag me into trouble" or something to that effect.

youarekiddingme · 11/01/2015 18:35

I doubt some of the main characters involved in Lucy's life haven't been asked to provide alibis - I just think we haven't seen them it would be totally unrealistic if they weren't even asked!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/01/2015 21:22

Just saw a Spoiler about the live episode (Dot and Nick, already mentioned upthread)

YY - difficult to imagine but if Nick does something to harm Charlie or the baby (Matthew CJ) then I think she could.

Don't forget the Dot and Ethel storyline Sad

Justwanttomoveon · 11/01/2015 21:47

The sooner they get rid of Nick for good the better, he is such a crap actor

LoveVintage · 11/01/2015 22:17

He is. The whole Nick storyline has been crap from the start. I can only think they wanted him back for the anniversary episode, so it might make sense that something like that happens to him.

CrapBag · 11/01/2015 22:31

Where did you see the spoiler? I like a good spoiler Grin

BeggarsCantBeChoosers · 11/01/2015 23:04

Did anyone watch the episode where Emma was in the Vic, and Dean came rushing through the door to announce that Patrick had fallen over?

That was what got Emma outside looking over the square and comparing houses with the video. Who lives next door to the Beales?

differentnameforthis · 12/01/2015 00:56

I used to love Tanya, don't have much time for her now.

She told her teenage daughter she had cancer, told her not to tell anyone & when said daughter went off the rails & started drinking, she had zero sympathy for her, and walked out of her & her sister on several occasions.

My money is on Tanya. She was fed up of Max going after the latest blonde young woman and was still reeling after his marriage to whats-her-face (Carls ex)

So she attacked Lucy, Jane is hiding the purse & phone to protect her.

raspberrywhitechocolate · 12/01/2015 01:30

Surely Jane wouldn't side with Tanya over Lucy? Also can't imagine her being the murderer when she's not even in it. It would totally undermine how 'invested' we (as an audience, not just MN Grin) are in current characters. I imagine they're just bringing her back for dramatic effect when it's revealed (makes it more likely to be a Branning I suppose then). She's one of those characters, like Ronnie, that I love but does tend to bore me when she's on for ages. But I love the character and it was a shame when she left. Wonder if they're also bringing back Invisible Oscar, who's never mentioned unless Max is shouting about how much he loves his kids.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 12/01/2015 07:22

Tanya will be back for the wedding, I don't think it means it's a Branning who is the murderer.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 12/01/2015 07:23

Sorry, it might still be a Branning but I don't think Tanya's appearance means it definitely is.

Harverina · 12/01/2015 08:01

I can't remember if Jane had an alibi at the time. I forget what was going on that night! I should rewatch it Smile

If Tanya is Jane's best friend then it would make sense for her to appear if Jane was arrested and charged too wouldn't it?

Although we don't know yet if the Police find out at the same time as us.

Is it possible that Jane is hiding the purse and phone as she thinks Ben is lying and doesn't want to take a chance by destroying evidence? Although you would just go to the Police wouldn't you!

CrapBag · 12/01/2015 12:08

I think James thinks Benin lying, as he blatantly is but it's too obvious to be him. She has to be careful though because of him being Ian's brother and Ian seems to believe him. I think that's why she has kept them, so if something comes out that Ben is involved, she has some evidence to back it up.

I don't think Jane did it. Way too out of character. I still maintain Abi and Ben and Jay are somehow involved.

CrapBag · 12/01/2015 12:09

Jane not James!

And Ben is not Benin. Stupid bloody auto correct.

SpanishFly · 12/01/2015 12:43

I wonder if the writers know who did it yet!

okeydonkey · 12/01/2015 20:55

Charlie's acting is awful. Glad his mum told him it was Nick who cut the breaks

CrapBag · 12/01/2015 21:10

Oh I like Charlie, I think he is doing a good job acting anguished and he is certainly easier on the eye than Max bleeding Branning!

I know Ben is a prick but I think it's awful the way people are taking their anger on Phil out on an 18 year old lad.

I hope Charlie doesn't fall for Nicks lies as he's bound to come out with some bullshit, and how is Charlie going to feel about his mum! She's very involved in the whole bloody thing.

okeydonkey · 12/01/2015 21:28

I'm secretly pleased that bens getting it all wrong but didn't like that Charlie beat him up. Eastenders does get too aggressive at times.
