No it was just after the whole phone business when she told phil she had got rid of it and then she found a floorboard that came up and she put it in there in its little plastic bag.

Yes, thats a very good point. Jane would take them to the police, so she is involved somehow, maybe she didn't want to throw it away in case it got found, better to keep control of where it is by hiding it close by?

I assumed she didn't entirely believe Ben's story so wanted to keep the evidence in case she had reason to think he did it.

But Jane is so 'straight' if she did think Ben was involved she would take them to the police ?

Also, Jane used to hate Ben.

Oooh I've missed all this stuff with the phones - can someone summarise what happened, ie why were they being hidden?

Denise found them (Lucy's phone and purse) buried in patricks allotment. They took them to Ian. Ben said that he had robbed them or something similar (can't remember the exact bullshit story he told) and buried them there after she died because he was scared. It's not clear if he is telling the truth, but it is clear that is was jay that buried them for ben. Ben didn't say that to Ian though.

Ian hid them to protect ben, as he would go back to prison if found out. Jane was supposed to throw them in the canal, she wouldn't let phil do it. But she actually hid them in the house under the floor

I'm annoyed at Mrs Doyle too. The storyline's ridiculous. She raises Charlie alone from birth til he's in his what - thirties, and then Nick comes along with his crap acting and it's 'oh you almost killed him? No, no... It's fine...' pained expression
Want Ronnie out of a coma too. Her life is so tragic that it's not even exciting anymore, you just know it's all going to go wrong, and she's barely ever even in the show anymore, either in prison, then back, then goes away to Peggy, comes back, coma a few weeks later. Only timr we ever actually see her is when she's threatening nick cotton. And I hate him, if I hadn't already mentioned.
They wouldn't kill Ronnie (can't remember name of PP who saw on a magazine they might, on phone, sorry). She's too big a character and too long running for them to properly kill her off of not in a special episode.

Anyone else notice that baby Mitchell Cotton has grew about 8 weeks in an episode
