Was Emma being "normal" with the Brannings? I kinda thought she was mostly just trying to think straight & deal with the situation. At that point I was wondering if Abi had been the one to go & meet her & explained about Max pushing Lucy, although that probably wouldn't fit with the "It's still murder" comment. Then in the kitchen I thought Abi was trying to get Lauren out of the way so Emma could talk to Max privately. Abi looked somewhat uneasy when Lauren insisted on staying.

I did watch 4 episodes in a row to catch up after visiting family... My recollections may be somewhat confuddled!

For the record, my money's on Bobby. I think he overheard the "you're my favourite conversation" & waited until everyone thought he was asleep before sneaking out. Jane helped him cover it up.

New to the thread but I like the Super Sleuthing going on! I second/third the idea of it being a major character. Or even a returning one.

As an additional thought, why did Roxy not use her gears to slow the car down...? You'd think, after her cousin nearly died in a similar way that she would be hot on ways to avoid that situation.

I started watching EE over Christmas (the last time I watched, Todd Carty & his wife Ruth were still in it ) consequently, I am only just getting to grips with who the characters are. Unsure who Whitney,Jay,Ben or Cindi are; I think Ben may be the lad with specs who Phil sent to get money out of the safe? Is jay the lad who works in the vic?

Whitney - Bianca's step-daughter, currently dating Lee (from The Vic), claims Lucy was bullying her
Jay - Phil's sort-of adopted son. His dad died, Billy took him in & somewhere along the way Phil poached him, used to date Abi
Ben - Phil's actual son, also Ian's brother, gay but currently hiding it & dating Abi
Cindy - Ian's step-daughter, Lucy/Peter's half-sister

I know, I wondered why Emma was dressed so randomly! The trouser/boot combo was awful! I quite liked her though. Can't decide if Max's relationship with her was a fake now though?!

Ben is the boy with glasses who phil sent to the safe for money, yes. He is also phils son. Jay was fostered by Billy Mitchell when his parents does and subsequently moved in with Phil who he is now close to.

The batman in the vic is Lee, the landlords son.

Cindi is Ian Beale's ex wife's child. She is Lucy and Peters half sister. Her mum died.

Agree when Lucy was shown dead there was no phone by her. Just ringing and going to ansa machine - so not sure how jay and Ben got her phone

Jay & Ben were in the last known CCTV of Lucy, on a bus. Jay was wearing a woolly hat - which he hid in several places, then destroyed, EE stylee - and no-one ever identified the lads seen on the film.

... Aaand, I think (cba to re-watch it) Emma saw Ben going into a house wearing a woolly hat, and this triggered loads of things together for her. Fucked if I know what, though.

Mind you, if Ben bumped Lucy off and tries to pin it on Jay like he did last time, it will make an interesting twist. I always like it when Jay gets a strong story.

Abby couldn't drive when Lucy was killed, there was a storyline that inc Emma offering to take her on lessons. So IF (unlikely) Abby ran Lucy over, there would be a witness who was the supervising driver.

So, who would be old enough & have the experience to be that person?

I don't think it is Abby, having run her over, damage to the car would have been evident.

Also, they have had too many people die via being hit with a car, are they really likely to make one of the biggest "who dunnits" into a hit & run for the 30th anniversary? I don't think so.

But once Emma came back and say with Lauren and Max in the kitchen, didn't Abi quite casually go through to the living room? Surely if she'd just confessed to murder she wouldn't be so easy-going about leaving Emma in the kitchen? And then if it was Lauren/Max and the other one knew why wouldn't she confront them or say something out loud? If it was to be one of them, the other would have to not know. And abi was far too casual. Hmmmmmmm. I can't realistically see it being a Branning because of the weird set up of that communication. (unless it was someone totally out of the blue like Tanya or that kid Oscar. Ooh I loved Tanya. Wish they'd bring her back)

Didn't Emma step in front of the car? Using the gears is no use in an emergency stop scenario.

EE have confirmed that they will confirmed that they'll be using flashback scenes to show what really happened to Lucy and the actors playing Lucy, Jake and Rainie are coming back to record scenes as part of the 30th anniversary. Some scenes will be filmed beforehand and some will be live scenes

Loving all the theories here by the way. I'm getting a bit obsessed between this thread and the multiple threads on digital spy!

I am supposed to be feeding children and chickens but couldn't resist checking this thread. Am developing quite an addiction.
Anyway: am buying into AGnu's excellent theory, but I think Emma thought it was Jay - so he was the one she met in the park (acc to DigitalSpy thread Jay has form for shredding polystyrene cups). He told her , passing it off as an accident. That would explain Emma's reaction ('it's still murder', because the resulting second blow to the head was what killed her), also her reluctance to go to the police because of the Branning connection and Jay's relative vulnerability, also Abby acting normal-ish, as she wouldn't know about the Jay/Emma meeting.

Bobby of course thats why jane whisked him to Birmingham yes it was bobby and Jane

No episode tonight due to football. But we've one on Wednesday and two on Thursday in addition to the usual ones tomorrow and Friday.
