Thank you for sharing onlygirl, it must have incredibly hard for you, and even more of a big thank you for writing your FF. cjwoof you're right about the happy ending, I hate watching programs that you invest your time in and they lead you down a path, romance or not and then the ending is crap. Thankfully for us OG was what we wanted. I can't remember when I joined this thread, but I know after Ep 4 I was in such a state in case CJ didn't make it!

I don't think I'm going to get time to watch any episodes today, but got plenty of time tomorrow :)

Yes kind of cathartic doing the FF. The writing was free flowing initially but severe case of writers block has now set in - it has dragged up some pretty painful memories.

What does still make me smile tho is that my CJ did the confessing first. He'd been hiding his feelings for, get this, 2 years before he cracked! I didn't have a clue until about a month before when I suddenly realised that I felt the same.

Ditto Richtea that's why I didn't really sit up and take notice until Ep 3 Rosabaya (aaah) coz I thought here we go again - the usual storyline reeling you in just to disappoint when you're hooked. Hope Broadchurch isn't going to be like that tonight as the first series was so good. It's a long time to be disappointed and have to wait between tonight and Friday when D'Artagnans back swashing his buckle and I get my next fix of wet frilly shirts. Don't care what the storylines about in that show!!

onefor that's heart-wrenching - two years???!! All that pent up angst poor man. He must've hidden his feelings so well if you only realised much later. That's soooo romantic and such a shame there was no happy ending

Just had a funny conversation with dp where my feelings for CJ came to the fore. I was telling him about how the friend who's just discovered CJ said she'd happily take a bullet for him. Dp said surely it would be better to take a bullet with him and hope to be in the same hospital ward. Excitedly, I got carried away and breathlessly exclaimed, "Ooh yes, and there'd be a shortage of beds and we'd have to top and tail! " At which point, dp looked very disconcerted.

Hmm, I think it's CJ in RAF uniform I want, not BA. That photo was a little disappointing. It could have been the cravat. My dad wears cravats.

cjwoof I'm not bothered about plot or story line either when it come to Musketeers. In fact I'm out friday so I will record it and fast forward to Aramis!!

Don't know why that's a problem for your DP Orphan, we all know there's a bed crisis in the NHS so top and tail is only practical. I'd quite happily top and tail with any male soldier on the military ward, but knowing my luck i would be sent to the geriatric ward

I think it's why we love OG as because against all odds they do get their gappy ending. Can you imagine the outcry if they did do another series and like done of the ff they were not together any longer!!

That's why I am not fussed if there isn't a second series. If they can't work together, I can't see how CJ would figure as a lead role. If he only had a cameo role here and there when MD gets back from tours etc we'd hardly see him. Other than that, I would hate for them to split up. That would be a heartbreaker. I couldn't cope with heartbreak in real life as well as in fantasy. Sh*t, shouldn't have said fantasy. Cold shower req'd, but can't, sitting at LHR waiting for flight. Sadly not Canada....

As much as I love CJ I'm sure his and Molly's story onscreen is finished.

Only way round it would to be go down the soldier, soldier route where the wives and girlfriends were part of the story too.

Topping and tailing - oh hell yes!

Celebs tweeting - Yes, they generally get their agents / PR's to do it once they become famous enough, with them tweeting intermittently as well. Only know because my other half is involved in the sector, I'm not about to spark another full scale confession session by admitting to being an undercover celeb hiding on mumsnet!

Oh no Icemist couldn't have CJ as a WAG. I don't think he'd get out alive. If I was a WAG on an army base, he'd be a perm fixture at my coffee morning. Hang on, what if we held an "adult toy" party....

Oh and series 2 potential - if (and that's a big if in my view) they get LT and BA back on board, I have visions of it being a couple of years down the line. Both still in the army and relationship didn't work due to various external pressures.

Until both are redeployed to the same war zone again. Cue longing looks and quickies in the med tent rediscovering their love for each other.

I think there could be a second series of Our Girl, but agree that it couldn't be with Charles/Molly relationship at the centre. I'm sure there's a few themes around social mobility or women in the armed forces that could be explored.

I think that the love story element is the gamble they took to get the series commissioned, but it does make subsequent stories harder when the viewers invest so much in that relationship. We don't want to see them fail or one of them die, but successful drama about happy secure relationships are not exactly gobbled up by commissioning bods.

Sounds like a tough time onefor, and this bringing back all the memories, I hope things are all good with you now?

Ditto Icemist and onefor, re second series. Much as I would like CJ and Molly back on the screen, I think most of the compulsion (is that the right word?) of the series was the development of their relationship, and you wouldn't get that in another series, and I wouldn't want them not to be together, so bit of a toughie.

cjwoof, I know this was hours ago (been for a long muddy walk to wear kids out!) but Lacey didn't have a cold sore, did she? Wasn't that just a theory from one of the FB/twitter lot? I think it was just TG being mean, not giving us a kiss!!!!

I'm finally getting to listen to my soundtrack cd, really love the music. Looking forward to the kids going to school tomorrow so I can finally watch a whole ep in peace. I think I might have let DD watch OG too much though, the game on the walk was being soldiers, while she (she's 4) instructed her brother that she was Molly, he was Smurf, and the other 2 kids we were with (whose mum had no idea what she was talking about) were other soldiers! We didn't have a CJ, cos he makes molly sad and she doesn't like him (we don't watch ep 5!!!)... Mad child!!

I'm sure there was a ff where Molly and Charles attended an army ball and Corporal Geddings (luscious Matthew McNulty) from her training days attended and Charles got all jealous when they had a dance together, promptly shagging her senseless in the library upstairs afterwards to stop her eye from wandering. Now that's the kind of series 2 I'd be looking for - what a dilemma for Molly, choosing between CJ or Geddings. Obviously in the end she'd choose CJ OF COURSE!!! but not before there were a few topless or naked romantic moments to help her decide.

Ooh Nickel did I get the shit wrong end of the stick re the cold sore then? I thought TG said that was the reason there wasn't a full on snog, but it could well have been a vicious FB rumour that I've misinterpreted, doh!!

To be fair, herpes can be nasty - not only to your face either, so CJ would've been wise to steer clear I say. We wouldn't want blisters anywhere except on his feet.
