Why do so many US series get cancelled and leave us dangling?

[NoMarymary]

Where has Once Upon A Time Gone?
Thirteenth floor cancelled.
Dracula cancelled
Penny dreadful cancelled.
Fast forward (which was a brilliant idea and well acted)

I am sure there are tons more. I now rarely bother with US series!

I think they are so keyed into making money they stretch out a good idea forever in case it's a hit and when it's not as popular as it should be they cancel. Much better idea to compress the idea into a brief series (note Sherlock) rather the this TV teasing.

Fancyanother you are talking about Defying Gravity which I mentioned up thread. If you google it there's a big spiel from the guy who wrote it about what was going to happen in series 2 - still made no sense though !

What you mean I can find out what happened??? Thank you!! There's a Tess Gerritson book called Gravity, that is similar but apparently nothing to do with it. Did they make the next series?

fancy - there you go www.cliqueclack.com/tv/2010/10/28/how-defying-gravity-would-have-ended-the-final-chapter/

Thanks! Yes still confusing! (Not helped by it being so long since it was on that I forgot what I wanted to know!)

Without a Trace, just when it started to get good again was cancelled because of flippin money and not decline of viewers! Bastards!
