Can you tell I am excited? Grin

I have five words.

DO. NOT. KILL. THE. BABY.

Or Glenn.
However please feel free to kill off annoying soppy Beth. Quickly.

I wonder too.

Unbrained heads live on - like the ones the Governor kept in a tank and Herschel. But what does that mean for decapitated bodies? If the heads are still alive, surely the bodies are too? And if a severed head is spiked, like Herschel's was, how does the disembodied body know to fall into a heap?

Does it matter what damage they can do, because I take it that scratches aren't the same as bites?

Also, why was Tyreese burying Gareth and the other Termites, or more to the point, why was Rick helping him?

I'm sure it was the Termites because the lump covered by the bloody sheet was too big to be just Bob. I suppose I understand that Tyreese wanted to do the decent thing, or that three dead bodies close to where they're living would be a health hazard, but digging deep seems to be an awful lot of effort for Rick just to join in with without comment. I'd probably burn them. But then, would I want to waste the petrol?

It also really bothered me that they used to merrily spike walkers at the prison fence yet there wasn't a mounting mountain of rotting corpses posing a bit of a H&S risk plus a handy way for lively walkers to climb over and into the yard.

anonacfr · 28/10/2014 14:02

Well I guess the bodies might still be alive but they don't have the senses needed to find a prey or to eat it.
So they go dormant?

I loved last nights double back plan, just excellent.

Disappointed in the lack of input from Glenn and Maggie, Judith has had more camera time than those two so far.

I hate that the group is split again, will have to see how that pans out.

I was hoping the walkers from the school got out last night and got the cannibals but Ricks revenge with the sword was excellent.

All in all another brilliant episode so much more full on than series four.

In response to the conversation way way up thread, I can confirm that I have an ex TA man who can shoot and a DD thats a black belt in karate...I shall hide behind them eating jelly beans and shout encouragement should we be attacked! Wink

I also think starvation would get a lot of people, as well as normal illnesses/infections so they would then turn too. But I do wonder why there are quite so many. Like in that primary school at the end it looked like there were 30 odd, so if one zombie had got in there and bitten and eaten the teachers, surely they would eat their guts and they would be half eaten, but they are standing up banging on the window. I'm possibly over thinking it

limitedperiodonly · 28/10/2014 14:21

BTW the reason I am obsessed by grave-digging and other methods of body disposal is because a boy I went to school with became a gravedigger and nearly died of tetanus.

He didn't keep his inoculations up and tetanus put him in hospital for weeks and could have killed him. It was horrifying. My mum talked about it lots. She was born before antibiotics were discovered and people died of simple infections. Penicillin was discovered in 1928 didn't come into proper use until the US entered the war in 1941 and couldn't stomach their soldiers dying of infection rather than major wounds, so funded mass production.

Because of that, I sometimes wonder about freshly-churned mud in cemeteries, but I guess if you don't eat it or smear it on open wounds you'll be okay. Maybe. Wink

Cemeteries have digging machines now which takes the hard work out of it. Digging with spades like Rick and Tyreese would be back-breaking.

I realise I might be overthinking this Grin

CheerfulYank · 28/10/2014 14:27

I think there are plenty of disabled walkers, but they're probably stuck in the woods etc. as they can't really go anywhere.

I used to be meh about Carol but now she's far and away my favorite. I feel like her whole life is atonement for not keeping Sophia safe.

limitedperiodonly · 28/10/2014 14:38

Bob must have been buried separately because Sascha was kneeling at a wooden cross.

I wouldn't put him in with Gareth.

Told you I was over-thinking it.

Midori1999 · 28/10/2014 15:32

I'm surprised they buried the termites. Given that they 'bury those they love, burnt the rest'.

Monroe · 28/10/2014 16:39

limited I always presumed the undead brains were still sending the messages to the body so if they were decapitated the bodies were useless despite the heads still chomping away. In the first season at the cdc I seem to remember them seeing a video of the wife's brain when she turned and there was still activity going on, it was just different.

I think Rick only helped to bury the termites because Tyreese was doing it and it was his way of supporting Tyreese in some way as he recognises he is really struggling at the moment. I realise I am not explaining this very well

McGlashan · 28/10/2014 17:08

I think maybe it is to show they are the moral spine of the show despite the awful stuff they do. Yes they killed the Termites but they had to - justice, revenge, safety.... The new avenging angels.
However it doesn't make them bad people as the extended Bob deathbed scene and the digging of the graves shows.
They've had Rick struggling with his ethics for a while. The termites did say they once had been good and it was only when some stuff happened (What?) they turned to the dark side. The fact this all took place in a church was not a coincidence.

And why aren't there more flies on TWD? There should be tons buzzing around.

ginnycreeper5 · 28/10/2014 17:50

It also really bothered me that they used to merrily spike walkers at the prison fence yet there wasn't a mounting mountain of rotting corpses posing a bit of a H&S risk plus a handy way for lively walkers to climb over and into the yard

I wondered about that as well!

ginnycreeper5 · 28/10/2014 17:52

And when Walkers eat their food where does it go? (their stomach must be rotted)
and where does the waste come out? wouldn't imagine things would be working down there either

Abra1d · 28/10/2014 18:25

The waste apparently comes out where yours does. Grin According to (I think) the Wiki.

ginnycreeper5 · 28/10/2014 18:36

And the flies? Why no flies?

JessePinkmansHoody · 28/10/2014 19:01

Ginny I'm rather relieved to read of your procrastinations over the digestive systems of the undead. I too have ruminated over this and reached no conclusion other than a vague assumption that they aren't really eating per se.. It's more like reflexive munching and as such it doesn't really "go anywhere" or get digested. The walkers do look progressively more ropey as the seasons wear on (I think?) and their skulls tend to cave in like mush. I don't think their dubious diets are doing much for them from a nutritional stand point. It's just oral gratification like me and chocolate

Abra1d · 28/10/2014 19:25

And surely you'd smell a bunch of walkers long before you bumped into them? They must stink!

KimberBentonIsGoingSolo · 28/10/2014 19:43

Finally caught up on the latest episode. Hope you don't mind me joining in? Smile

I felt ridiculously emotional when Bob started crying. He had a good sendoff however surrounded by family.

Were all of the termites killed? It didn't seem like the whole group was in the church.

I think the person Daryl has brought back with him has to be Noah.

Next episode might be very "yawn" because I think it will involve only Beth.

IdaBlankenGhostship · 28/10/2014 19:47

I thought that about the smell, especially when Darryl and Beth went in the country club last series. There were loads of corpses around (Rich Bitch and the ones that had been hung), but they weren't gagging on the smell. I would have thought zombies and corpses in a sealed room would stink Envy

Aridane · 28/10/2014 19:55

Kimber - who is Noah?

Rollergirl1 · 28/10/2014 20:02

Hah hah, liking the conversations around nutritional value and digestive systems of zombies. In case you'd forgotten, THEY ARE DEAD!!! Usual anatomical rules do not apply!!

I'm a bit perplexed by who could be with Daryl. I guess the chances are that it's Beth. But there were scenes with Beth in the Season 5 trailer that we haven't seen yet. Perhaps they will be shown as flashbacks?

CheerfulYank · 28/10/2014 20:20

But there was that one huge walker who ate Lori... Confused

Abra1d · 28/10/2014 20:22

Hi Kimber.

CheerfulYank · 28/10/2014 20:23

It's not anyone we know, I don't think, judging from the way he said it.
