I can't believe Maggie and Glen wondered away from the group like that? Confused

I'm also kinda bummed for Andrew Lincoln, Norman R gets a lotta love, which i understand but Andrews acting is always brilliant. He's the leader, the father, the goodie, the baddie, the crazy one and the deppressed one when he went all huggy hippy in the prison, all the while being likeable. Where's the love? Grin (not on mn btw, FB, twitter etc)

How cute was Judiths Sad face when the termites were in the church?

KeeperOfBees · 28/10/2014 09:38

Good point millie, i think the producers are really showing just how far Rick will go to protect his flock. Shane was right when he was telling Rick he had to man up.

Midori1999 · 28/10/2014 10:18

I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in this episode. I thought it would be more brutal and maybe they played it down for TV, because in the comics it was more brutal. They also only really vaguely hinted at the fact that the termites had eaten their own children. Maybe they thought that was all too much?

I like the way Rick's character has developed. I don't think it's unrealistic, it's also not unrealistic that someone would change in the way Tyreese has. Rick has only ever hurt people who have hurt him or his 'family' he has never gone out of his way to hurt those who have done him no harm.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 28/10/2014 10:18

I haven't seen this yet. I'm gonna watch it tonight.

I am almost frantic with excitement. Grin

susiedaisy · 28/10/2014 10:28

Keeper. Yes Judith's face was so cute when she was listening to the others in the chapel.

susiedaisy · 28/10/2014 10:30

I admit I didn't like the way Rick etc killed the termites in the chapel. They needed to die I agree but it was brutal. But I suppose that's what helps the story line progress showing how harden the characters have become.

BeyondPreparedForHell · 28/10/2014 10:36

Was it just me thinking the termites were gonna zombify? They got so carried away in the psycho-esque stab stab stab in the chest, they seemed to forget to stop them coming back?

McGlashan · 28/10/2014 10:44

Darryl could have that Morgan bloke with him. He was following them when they left Terminus. I kept thinking it was him that was watching them at the church. If not where has he gone?

I think the reason Maggie and Glenn have gone with the other group is to help the story along - so we can follow both groups' stories and it has major characters in both.

It's like poor expendable Bob which is what DH has been calling him since the last series. He was the person that they only spent a cursory amount of time developing his character. For the same reason we always thought Beth was a goner as she was so two dimensional. I wonder will it be Father Ted or whatever he's called next.

ApocalypseNowt · 28/10/2014 11:09

I would love it if Father Ted popped in a zombie apocalypse drama! Grin Such a shame Dermot Morgan is no longer with us so it shall forever remain a dream.

Father Jack would be awesome in this.

apologies for pointless thread derail

McGlashan · 28/10/2014 11:14

Ha, ha. A scene in which the walkers kick Bishop Brennan up the arse - before devouring him.

guaranteedpersonality · 28/10/2014 11:31

Agree SusiedaisyI think someone said earlier on this thread or maybe another one they miss the old Glen from the first series and so do I. Maggie and Glen as characters have been appalling (as in boring and undeveloped) this season.

I must be bloodthirsty but I didn't have a problem with how Rick exacted revenge, though it's certainly uncomfortable. To me his 'transformation' (in his acceptance of violence) is at the heart of the moral framework The Walking Dead alludes to. Stripped of civilisation what is morality? How far can you go/how much can you change and still remain 'you'. It's almost a search for First Principles.

Andrew Lincoln is fantastic, definitely my favourite character - to think I wanted all that time lusting after Jack Davenport in This Life. :D His accent seems to be getting much better too - or am I just inured to 'Carrel'

anonacfr · 28/10/2014 11:59

Zombie Father Jack.... Grin

To be fair he already looked like one.

Who thinks Eugene who is supposed to know so much is just some fantasist and not really a fancy schmancy molecular biologist and probably works in Walmart really

Aridane · 28/10/2014 13:12

Question: does baby Judith have the dormant zombie virus? Or being born post zombie apocalypse, is she somehow exempt / immune?

Aridane · 28/10/2014 13:16

Another question: I understand that zombie bites / scratches don't turn people into zombies - instead the infection / injury kill and then the person turns because we are all infected.

If that is the case, how come so many people are zombies? Did they all just die through natural causes / illnesses, or did the zombies do lots of biting (but not complete devouring) leading to death, then reanimiation / zombification?

ScarlettInSpace · 28/10/2014 13:20

Hi everyone I've been lurking since the start and thought I should say hello Halloween Grin I'm shit at posting regularly though so I'll dip in and out!

Bloody OH spent the whole of last night's episode pissing around with his cycling GPS device then looked up at the end and Saud "that was a pretty shit episode" Halloween Angry it was an awesome episode!

The end was fab! Hopefully next week's trailer will be on during American Horror Story tonight Halloween Smile

I think Glenn is deffo getting it this season, ever since the pic of him & Maggie got burnt, but I'd prefer it yo be Maggie so he could get all harass again. I was also a bit Confused about Maggie driving off while Beth was still missing...

ScarlettInSpace · 28/10/2014 13:21

Oh an Eugene is deffo just a computer geek with no clue other than what he remembers from playing online apocalypse games Halloween Hmm

Aridane · 28/10/2014 13:25

Sorry - yet another question: only damage to the brain will kill a zombie. So - when a zombie attacks and has a good devouring session but does not eat the brain, does the corpse missing legs, an arm and stomach reanimate? If so, how come we don't see many disabled zombies?

ScarlettInSpace · 28/10/2014 13:26

Badass not harass lol

ScarlettInSpace · 28/10/2014 13:28

Aridane there is dismembered zombies around, in the very first episode Rick kills an old lady with no egs, and I think the girl that was with Carol was feeding half a zombie on the tracks

Aridane · 28/10/2014 13:31

I think I must be the only one who doesn't feel the love for Carol - though I thought the Lizzie / Look at the Flowers episode was just amazing.

Aridane · 28/10/2014 13:34

Ah, thanks ScarlettInSpace - now you mention those scenes, I remember. Just would expect to see more mutilated zombies - though I guess it would take away the threat / menace if the zombie population had heavy representation from harmless legless / dismembered creatures...

McGlashan · 28/10/2014 13:37

Aridane. I wondered about this as well. I think what happens is everyone is infected so you die you become a walker. However if you're bitten you must get a bigger dose of fatal zombie virus straight into your system which kills you because the most innocuous bites that wouldn't normally be fatal seem to kill. Hershel survived as they cut off the leg before the virus spread.

The other question about the disabled zombies. You do occasionally see zombie heads lying there snarling and biting without any bodies. If I remember correctly one of the first scenes in the first series when Rick escapes the hospital is of a zombie on the ground- alive with no legs.

Midori1999 · 28/10/2014 13:39

I think Carol is amazing! I think I actually prefer her to Darryl, and maybe Michonne, although not Rick. I think she shows exactly how events in a persons life can change them so much. In the same way Rick has changed from the first season where Lori kept saying he was too nice, a pushover etc.
