I don't think Gareth will last past episode 3 or 4, but of course, I could be wrong. I just don't see it, regardless of him being made a 'permenant' cast member. I think there may be a few main cast deaths this season too. Bob next episode, then maybe Beth mid season finale and another at the season finale.

But if he was only in 3/4 episodes he would be a "guest"

The show needs more than just walkers to be an outside threat.

But we shall see. I believe he will turn eventually, but he will survive long into season 5.

I never buy too much into the series regular stuff with TWD. They keep it deliberately vague to stop you knowing who's going to die - it would be pretty obvious if you could look on IMdB and see who wasn't appearing most of the season I may still be bitter that they never made T Dog a series regular despite being in 2.5 seasons

My main intuition about Gareth etc is that they appear to be playing out the Dale storyline with Bob... and that was over pretty quickly.

I miss T Dog. They better not kill off Tyreese.

I feel like the trailer may have been very heavily edited to be very misleading... They were trying to keep an air of mystery around the Termites after S4, and so I think they cut and shut some of Gareth's stuff in it to make it look as though he could potentially be good after all and join the group.

I'm now over half way through season three and it still says in the opening credits that it guest stars Melissa McBride and Scott Wilson, so don't read too much into guest stars or permenant ones.

Re-watching, I mean, I've seen them already, I'm bang up to date.

There is no Daryl or Merle in the comics at all.

I agree rally that the trailer was deliberately edited to play with timelines and misdirect. Also I think IMDB/Wiki are edited by fans in anticipation so you can't really trust it till after that episode has shown.

I think Bob is tainted meat - which won't turn the termites but should lead the way to a great showdown between the groups.

I've been thinking about Bob. If he's been bitten, is there a chance he's got some kind of natural immunity? I'm only thinking that sort of in conjunction with Ebola. I read last week that there's a certain percentage of dogs in Africa (this was part of an article on why the Spanish nurse's dog was euthanized but the American nurse's dog wasn't) who test positive for Ebola antibodies but never show any symptoms. If that was the case with Bob, he could still infect the Termites but not become a walker.

I'm with you laraeo - in S4 Bob got bitten but said the bite was "on his bandage" (which was there from a gunshot wound when the governor attacked prison). So I think the clues to this have been building. I'd be astonished if Bob isn't immune - it would explain why he's been the last survivor of every group he's been a part of.

So if Bob is immune is it going to be like The Andromeda Strain where the alcoholic was immune to the alien virus because his blood was so acid because of the booze.

I miss T dog too, he was a big softy, and Tyreeese has replaced him on the big softy side. Weird that he wouldn't kill the guy in the hut though? He goes out kills all the walkers then leaves the guy alive when he was threatening to break Judith's neck? And then the bad hoodie guy is round the fire! Why oh why don't they finish them off!

My Zombie escape plan is to head to B and Q, live in the staff cafeteria with all the vending machines, and have access to the chainsaws, hammers and nail guns. I will build a welded baby cage for DS, and will just chuck a rice cake in occasionally to keep him alive but he isn't allowed out until he is well skilled in a cross bow.

I miss Dale and Herschel. They reminded everyone of exactly why it was worth trying to survive. Otherwise, why bother? If there's no friendship and humour and wisdom left in the world and it's all just survival at any cost, what's the point.

I've got it on NowTV. It's a few pounds a month for a subscription but it's worth it.
