Can't wait to see this series. The DC interviewing the man for conspiracy to murder reminds me of David Brent though....

Christ that programme had everything didn't it? I need a lie down, because I can't believe it was real life, it was more like a comedy show.Hmm Grin

Bakeoffcakes · 29/09/2014 22:34

"There's only one person in charge here and it's me and Tim"
I'll be giggling about that all night.

AnneElliott · 29/09/2014 22:47

Great programme. Who knew that a conversation about protein shakes could take so long!

Fixerupperz · 29/09/2014 22:56

Brilliant show already. If anyone didnt hear, that guy had been to Vegas Grin .
Really intriguing show, but imo guilty as sin!!

Ellenora5 · 29/09/2014 22:58

I thought it was great, was convinced he would be found guilty, the detectives have some patience, I wouldn't be able to keep my temper with that "no comment"

I hope that detective gets a holiday soon, he needs one, otherwise he would have mentioned it once or twice that he had recently being away

The lawyers reg plate makes him look like a complete arse

Looking forward to the next one, interesting stuff

TheFairyCaravan · 29/09/2014 23:01

DS2 and I loved that programme. We can't wait until next week.

How that man was found not guilty I don't know!

The police man went to Vegas? He never said much!

Whitewhine · 29/09/2014 23:10

Did you know he'd been with his partner for 20 years? Oh, and he used to be a holiday rep.... Don't think he mentioned it!

Can't believe that guy was found not guilty!

That was so good ! My BIL is a mobile analyst - it shows how his work is used in cases so fascinating.

OhGoveUckYourself · 30/09/2014 10:27

Fantastic programme, had me glued to the screen which is rare these days. In my opinion the guy and his brother in law were very lucky to have been found 'not guilty'. It shows how high the standard of proof is set in criminal cases. Don't think the verdict he got was at all down to his solicitor though, he seemed out of his depth during the interviews and I thought he gave his client bad advice re 'going no comment'.

realitygone · 30/09/2014 17:30

Ahh I found you all, I knew there would be a thread here somewhere.

Watched it today, absolutely brilliant. I love these types of shows. I hope that they can make the episodes as good as that one every week. 24 hours in a&e went a bit boring in the end

seasalt · 02/10/2014 23:59

I have only seen bits of this but I wonder why the Police Women on the desk are so aggressive to everyone who is brought in.

wildfig · 03/10/2014 08:19

I wondered if the 'bit of skirt' comment was thrown out to try to get some sort of reaction from Mr No Comment, if the case centred around a 'get your hands off of my/his woman' type motive. But then again, maybe not...

Was that dramatic weight loss by the end down to coming off the 'protein shakes'?

NanaNina · 03/10/2014 22:58

I was glued to this programme - wasn't keen on the David Brent lookalike oh and did somebody mention he went to Vegas.........aaaaaaaaaaaargh. I think we should remember the cops were very patient as they knew they were being filmed but I'd like to bet they are different without cameras.

First I thought the suspect was innocent as he seemed unphased about being arrested but with all the twitching and the body language I thought he was guilty, so was really surprised he was found not guilty. Maybe he got agitated thinking that they were going to "stich him up" for something he hadn't done. Who knows. Wonder why he agreed to it being filmed - maybe because he knew he was not guilty.

I wouldn't like that solicitor representing me.

Hope it continues to be this good.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/10/2014 09:21

The cops are filmed all the time aren't they ? You always see interviews on the news with the police when people have been found guilty.

NanaNina · 04/10/2014 14:16

Do you? Can't say I've noticed this. Even if that does happen it's still just a snapshot isn't it (a moment in time) I don't want to suggest all cops are bullyboys but I think a lot of them are - suppose they have to be to some extent - goes with the territory doesn't it.

The things that have been in the news over the past months demonstrates that the police lie with impunity (Hillsborough) and other cases (the newspaper seller who was severely assaulted by a cop for no reason at the G20 protest - cops got in a dodgy medic to say he died of a heart attack - he didn't he died of internal bleeding caused by the hit and the fall. The bloke on the train who they shot about 7 times - they lied and said he had jumped the barrier and was wearing a puffer jacket so could have weapons hidden (it was the cops that jumped the barrier. De Menzies was not wearing a puffer jacket) The shooting of the black guy who they killed - and sparked the riots - they said he had a gun in his hand and it was proven that this was not the case. The cops always get off with whatever they've done.

Oh god I could go on...........and on..........

DinoSnores · 04/10/2014 14:31

"I think we should remember the cops were very patient as they knew they were being filmed but I'd like to bet they are different without cameras."

All interviews are on tape and film, so having extra camera there will have made very little difference, I would imagine.

NanaNina · 04/10/2014 16:18

But there aren't cameras all over the cop shop - people have been beaten up in police custody and died as a result, and I know for a fact that detainees get "roughed up" by police on occasions.

douchbag · 04/10/2014 17:08

I wish he had paid more attention to his dental hygiene as he did telling everyone he had been to Vegas Confused

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/10/2014 18:08

The other interviewer was the least likely cop ever! Looked more like a computer geek.

Everythinghappensforareason1 · 04/10/2014 22:18

Ooh what Channel is this on?

Showy · 04/10/2014 22:39

The other interviewer wasn't a cop, he was a civilian.

DH is a DS. Hours and hours stuck at work, late home because of no ruddy comment. Never been to Vegas though. Grin He was quite surprised by the interview technique. V different to other forces I think.

NanaNina · 04/10/2014 22:47

That's interesting Showy - do you mind saying what your DH thought the differences were.....and in spite of the comments I've made about some of the police force, I'm sure there are many who are (like all public services employees these days) is overworked, not particularly well paid, paying more into a pension and getting less out etc etc. and the bloody govt is wanting improved public services while taking a large axe to their budgets. Makes me sick. Sorry I know this isn't a political thread but it sort of spills out of me..........

Sorry your DH hasn't been to Vegas............!

TiffanyToothache · 05/10/2014 00:39

I want to know if the shot bloke married the girl!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 05/10/2014 08:01

What job did he do Showy , the civilian ?

ilovechristmas1 · 06/10/2014 21:05

bump for tonight
