Yay

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 08/10/2014 20:59

Yep. Another daft shirt

Vivacia · 08/10/2014 21:00

Oh my God, I'm welling up at that end bit.

What's wrong with me?

TeamScotland · 08/10/2014 21:00

Ah Nancy made her daughter's wedding cake...more damp eyes here.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/10/2014 21:00

Glad Nancy won. Her showstopper looked brilliant.

MagratsHair · 08/10/2014 21:01

Nancy's showstopper put me in mind of a blood clot but I'm glad she won. Well done to all the contestants.

scowne

Egghead68 · 08/10/2014 21:05

Oh dear - i didn't find that an enjoyable watch. Lots of nervous people trying to do things under ridiculous time-constraints. Very few jokes. The whole thing was just so tense.

Glad Nancy won though.

CecyHall · 08/10/2014 21:05

Why does that end section make me so emotional?!

Oblomov · 08/10/2014 21:10

wasn't like I expected. found it really disappointing.

Egghead68 · 08/10/2014 21:15

The three finalists were on the One Show this week. Nancy had had a makeover and looked really happy which made me suspect she might have won.

Dolly80 · 08/10/2014 21:15

Got home late, just seen who won. Knew that would happen...ages I'm sure I said that they edited Diana badly to let Nancy off the hook as she was going to go far.

She was the best in the final though. It's poor old x5 times star baker bald prince Harry I feel sorry for Wink

YYYYAAAAAAAAAY NANCY Grin Grin She really deserved it !! Brilliant !!I was surprised she coped so well with the pressure. And poor Richard couldn't !!

HaveYouSeenHerLately · 08/10/2014 22:04

Extra slice! Grin

crje · 08/10/2014 22:06

very disappointing final.
Show stopper fell flat for me.
would have loved luis to win
He put sweat & tears into his bakes every week.

Emslifechoices · 09/10/2014 00:07

Just watched the final. I agree that the technical was clearly chosen to play to Nancy's strengths.

Nancy was best on the day but surely they should assess the WHOLE series not just the final episode?

riverboat1 · 09/10/2014 06:10

Emslife - that is definitely not how it works and it never has. Its a bake-OFF meaning it's considered on each stand alone week unless there are two people tied in performance in which case they look back.

I was really pleased Nancy won, but felt a bid bad for Louis as there wasn't much between them in the final.

Egghead68 · 09/10/2014 06:13

I agree that the technical played to Nancy's strengths, but the showstopper played to Luis' and I think Richard said that pain au chocolat were his speciality so the signature might have played to his.

rootypig · 09/10/2014 06:15

I am a bit Confused at the technical being chosen to play to Nancy's strengths. A scone, a cake, and a tart - the back bone of home baking. I was so PLEASED to see it there because for me that's what the show is all about. And no wonder Nancy won. Because she's the best baker Confused

She also did bloody well in the other two challenges, which were perhaps more the other two's forte Hmm

coffeeinbed · 09/10/2014 07:30

I'm sure all technical challenges are planned ahead, probably for the whole series.

they have to prep and buy stuff and it's all planned down to the littlest thing.

I presume, must add.

ppeatfruit · 09/10/2014 08:31

Exactly coffee Nancy was just on R2 and she said her DH made all the special gadgets for her BEFORE the BO began.

crje and riverboat But we weren't tasting the baking were we? I noticed that the flavour of Loui's baking was actually mentioned positively yesterday. I don't reckon that his flavours were much good on the whole.

I've recorded Extra Slice and will watch it later were there any surprises? Grin

GilesGirl · 09/10/2014 08:39

I totally think Nancy was the right winner, despite all of Richard's Star Bakers, she was the most consistently good baker.

ppeatfruit · 09/10/2014 08:43

Yes I agree and her little lemon tarts were lovely Gilesgirl. I must say the show stoppers don't do much for me!

AlfieandAnnieRose · 09/10/2014 08:45

Tonight on BBC2 is the Great British bake off masterclass! The judges will be making recipes from the start of the series such as a cherry cake and Swiss roll. I've got it on record.
