DD and I enjoyed it. Agree about the sound, I had it turned right up and still we missed a few lines. You'd have thought the BBC would employ staff who knew how to do that sort of thing, by now, wouldn't you?

I have decided that, on balance, I hate what they've done with the theme tune.

7.30 is a really bad time for us. I am getting supper on the table, we talk etc. DD is 15 now, but when she was young and it was time to introduce that rite of passage for British children (Grin well put, SingingSilver), she would have had to go to bed straight after so no time to alleviate or distract from potential nightmares etc.

Hope they start showing it earlier.

BestIsWest · 07/09/2014 13:05

I did enjoy this episode, it was good old fashioned fun. I thought Clara had all the best lines.

OwlCapone · 07/09/2014 13:20

where the fuck is hashtag on mac?!

Alt 3

OwlCapone · 07/09/2014 13:20

I loved the lines 'And do people ever punch you in the face when you do that?' 'No...' 'Good job I'm here then!'

Me too! Just fabulous :)

WinifredTheLostDenver · 07/09/2014 14:34

Yy to that line!

Nerf · 07/09/2014 16:25

I think 6.30 would be better if it sticks like this. If it goes back to weird no action loads of tricksy story lines and no aliens I don't care when it's on.

Thanks owl!

Trills · 07/09/2014 20:38

Frivolous but I want a dress like that. And a dangly forehead necklace.

WinifredTheLostDenver · 07/09/2014 21:18

Me too, trills. How did that forehead thing stay on, was it twisted into her hair?

Trills · 07/09/2014 21:23

Yes, the top front bits of her hair were twisted back, there will have been a chain/string/something that was twisted into the hair.

2rebecca · 07/09/2014 23:47

Just watched it, I enjoyed that. I remember trying out that sort of hairstyle years ago when told how to do it by Jackie comic. I made a padded band that went round my head and I tucked my hair into it.
Hers looked better.
You don't want all the Doctor Whos to be comical but that was fun.

diddl · 08/09/2014 10:03

The pendant bit was stuck on I think as the chain hung loosely at the sides.

Anyone know/have a theory what Missy & the Promised Land is buidling up to?

Nerf · 08/09/2014 21:49

Or eyelash glue deffo.

He is so beautiful though!

HolyQuadrityDrinkFeckArseGirls · 13/09/2014 20:19

Sooo lovely. SmileSmileSmileSmile

Glastogirl · 13/09/2014 20:23

Does anyone have any spoilers on who Danny Pink is? I thought I knew and then seeing that army figure at the end has really confused me and my theory!

Please dm me someone!

BestIsWest · 13/09/2014 20:26

That was lovely. From what I made of that, Orson Pink is a descendant of Danny and Clara?

PrincessTheresaofLiechtenstein · 13/09/2014 20:34

What was the thing in the blanket, please? Did I miss something?

Other than that confusing me, I enjoyed that episode!

Glastogirl · 13/09/2014 20:35

I thought Orson was possibly Danny under a different name?

Were they also alluding to him actually being the doctor? I only got to half watch the end due to doc distractions but didn't he have that action figure? (The boy in the barn who was the doctor?!)

HolyQuadrityDrinkFeckArseGirls · 13/09/2014 20:37

Orson seems to b le grand grand son.

HolyQuadrityDrinkFeckArseGirls · 13/09/2014 20:38

Maybe it was a sream?

RustyDalek · 13/09/2014 20:48

Clara gave the action figure to Rupert, who changed his name to Dan. Orson is the great grandson of Dan (and probably Clara - not necessarily though, because the TARDIS was 'distracted' to Dan's timeline - Orson only said there were time travel stories about 'one of my grandparents' and that could be Dan if he travels in the TARDIS). Orson had the figure as an heirloom, he gave it to Clara, who gave it to the boy in the barn, who is probably the doctor, though with Moffatt you can never be sure - it might just turn up in the Master's hand one day....

Jux · 13/09/2014 20:49

I think Orson was the GGGson of Danny and Clara. The toy soldier was the one that Clara had said was the bravest man in the world when she was talking to Rupert (Danny) in the children's home, which had become an heirloom and was passed down the family presumably.

The crying boy we never actually saw, whose ankle Clara grabbed was a young Doctor (not Danny/Rupert).

The thing in the red blanket was pne of the things we never see but which are always with us, Princess.

Pixel · 13/09/2014 20:52

But Rusty, how did the figure then get in a box in an orphanage on Earth?

Jux · 13/09/2014 20:53

I think that was the best so far this series. Lots of tension. DD and I had hearts racing (a bit), but my brother was playing silly buggers with the cat at the same time. He has been banished Grin
