They really need to sort the sound out. Watched it last night with the dc and even turned right up we struggled to hear pc. Everything else is loud but his voice just doesn't carry. Couldn't they have just turned his mike up a notch? Silly as it sounds I'm going to struggle to watch it if this keeps up

I agree about the sound.
You would think that in this day and age poor sound quality wouldn't be an issue. I turned it right up but PC's voice seemed to be muffled and his diction was poor.

Oh thank goodness, thought I was going deaf.

We have to turn it up really loud as well but we have to download it as not in UK so assumed that was it. Interesting to hear you're all having trouble watching it "live". I find a lot of things are like that these days, the special effects are deafening but the speech isn't clear at all. Irritating.

Me too. My eyesight's deteriorated recently and I thought my hearing was doing the same. I don't think it can be PC's diction because he's not a mumbler usually, is he? Every consonant is sharp in The Thick Of It. So many decent lines are getting lost, even though there's a lot less swoopy stringy Murray Gold these days.

Oooh! I thought it was just me! I didn't get a few lines as well. Especially annoying as they seemed to be the crucial ones

I remember bbc had problems with sound on other shows. Where do we complain? Twitter?

I think it's the voice pc is using for the role tbh. Clara id piercing very clear as are other characters but pc just isn't coming through. I was glad the dc thought the same or i would have thought it was my hearing too

I hate Twitter. Sadly, so does 15yo dd, so she's no help!

I liked Christopher Eccleston and didn't think I would like David Tennant, then I loved David Tennant and didn't think I would like Matt Smith but he grew on me, as will Capaldi I'm sure. I just love Doctor Who.

What a weird title! I love Peter Capaldi! If anything I would kick the entire Doctor Who franchise into Room 101 for one more series of The Thick Of It. But he's a fabulous Doctor. I connected with him in the role right away. I tired of Matt Smith ages before he left.

Ha, title was thought up in relation to me and the dcs looking all forlorn at the end of the first episode - so a family 'we' not a MN 'we'

Have to say, the children and I are following this much more easily and the children are actually enjoying it after all the weird convoluted stories of before.
