Gutted, we are all surprised at how much we hate Peter capaldi! Was so looking forward to this! Its pants!

Well so far I've read that she is either:
Idris from The Doctors Wife,
The Master regenerated again,
The Rani.
But every woman cast in DW has been linked to the Rani - even Donna so that ones either going to be right at some point or totally off.

The whole Impossible Girl thing came about because he knew her from the Christmas special where she died saving him and Asylum of the Daleks where she had been turned into a Dalek, didn't know it and died saving him Rory and Amy. On Trenzalore she jumped back into his time stream and influenced all of his previous incarnations (like telling the first Doctor which Tardis to steal) in order to save him in the present.

My money is on her being The Master! Although many seem to suspect The Rani. She's not going to be Idris the TARDIS. I reckon she's definitely Time Lord though!

Not as old a throw back as The Master or Ice Warriers or Daleks Or Cybermen or K-9 or Sarah Jayne! Bringing odd classic baddie (or companion!) back is wonderful. There's a good deal of fans still watching from the classic days, so that's why they always go down a treat. It has to be worked in carefully and not over done (with the exception of Cybermen and Daleks because they're as ace as The Doctor!!)

I'd quite like it if it was her, she's of my era with the 6th Doctor who used to scare the shit out of me still does

Just watched it as was away. Love PC. Glad Clara is going although she's better than Amy who i mainly disliked for dragging the awful Rory around. Ditto Rose and Micky.
The doctor needs a female companion who can stand up to him not fawn over him. The first incarnation of Romana is my favourite companion.
Was glad to see Michelle Gomez at the end but not sure I want to see alot of her as I don't want a camp, mental Dr Who. I like the idea of it being darker and more sinister.
I agree re sticking to simpler story lines and ditching complex story lines that are spread over several episodes you and lose you if you aren't an anorak.
Scary monster does something nasty, Dr Who saves the day is fine by me.
Being a lesbian didn't make the lizard woman less patronising and sexist.
The Dr Who writers can't do relationships without making them mawkishly sentimental or sexist so should give up.

I thought she might be the Master (Missy/Mistress), but I'm just going to wait and see.

I can often predict the little jokes and set pieces in episodes because I know the style (like 'the other side' in the newspaper article this week), but trying to fathom what Moffat is thinking just frustrates me!

I think they should have made him change his accent because all I can think of is Malcolm Tucker (that's all I think of anyway, heh heh!). Enjoying this one but would like a much longer Dalek story

I think he's a bit mumbly too, I don't know if it's because there's always a lot of background music/effects though and it's just at a similar pitch to his voice.

It probably doesn't help that Clara's very clear, so it's even harder comparatively.

The story is weird, but I preferred it to the convoluted one of last week.
