Am I the only one who thought EE was a bit too graphic tonight with the rape scene?

11yo DS was watching, and asked a few questions. He won't be watching EE again, for a few years.

Lynette - I did a bit, especially her picking up her bloodied underwear up off the floor. I don't think my 11yo would understand what happened, but I never let him watch it anyway. Even the normal episodes are too much.

I didn't see blood on her pants was there yes it was to graphic but last week there was a shooting

Sorry, I think I might have got it wrong about the blood. It may have been the pattern on them, according to DS.

I can't do links, but if you Google there is a new Autumn trailer out. Lots of spoilers, including the return of an old dead returning character.

I thought blood too. I found it harrowing. I know these topics need to be broached but thought it was on a bit early. 8pm is when a lot of still young children are up (my DD 8 was but we didn't watch it with her, never do but still).

I think the acting was superb though, the one thing I can't stand about soaps is when the story lines drag on un realistically. How in earth did Mick not notice she was ashen and silent?

Ooh and there are lot's of other spoilers, but I can't post them all in case anyone shouts at me. Including theories discussed on here. If you like spoilers though have a look. Looks very exciting in the run up to Christmas.

Linda's mum used to be in Casualty - she played Charlie's girlfriend and is in EE next week.

Very exciting trailer and I'm looking forward to finally knowing more about Pam and Les...we still haven't found out how their son died and why did Les lie about Nick to help Charlie?

i thought it was a pattern on her pants,maybe it was blood rapes are rough and blood could be a possibility

There was no blood on her underwear, it was on at 8pm and it was clearly a pattern.

Hard hitting, well acted, upsetting and I am stunned.

Will certainly raise the fact that most rapes are committed by people that are known to the victim and the trauma of deliberating whether to report it or not. I hope the aftermath is dealt with sensitively.

I thought it was a pattern also. I don't think EE would show blood from a rape before the watershed.

I know it's my own family issue but I'm cross about tonight's episode. I remember the rape episode (Cathy) in the 80s and I'm fairly sure it wasn't so obvious, was it? Happy to be told otherwise btw.

I wasn't expecting that tonight at all, I was distracted as it started leaving my 17yr old who had just walked into the room, also a survivor, in the room for the minute or so when it was most distressing. I had no chance to turn it off or to another channel.

I've been dealing with the distressed consequences ever since.

I understand the reasoning behind not hiding rape in general but ffs a heads up would have been nice. I'm a regular but not obsessive watcher, could there not have been something of a warning?

Honestly I am NOT the sort of person who censors, I'm about as liberal as they come but that was brutal and unnecessarily unforeseen.

I thought it was blood too. BUt glad to hear it is not. But am I imagining this, but did she bleach all her pubic hair off. I really felt deeply uncomfortable in that episode. My DD had warned I would be in for a shock (she had read a spoiler somewhere) and I was. Oh DD is 23, not a kid!

But really, in the space of about two weeks and a location of about 200 yeards we have had, a house burnt to the ground and leaving one woman severely disfigured, a man almost shot dead at a wedding, and now a rape on the same day as the wedding.

I remember Brookside becoming too sensational, and look what happened to that.

Oh, and that piece of paper that Peter dropped (his letter to Ian). Who picked it up. I thought it was "ello ma", my dd thinks it was the Irish policeman....
