It's starting soon Grin , I'm far too excited! just hope the transfer to BBC1 doesn't ruin it!

OP posts:

Oh that has made me so angry, it wasnt his fault, felt so sorry for him

Dolly80 · 27/08/2014 21:01

Vivacia...I thought the editing implied Diana was the culprit and let Nancy (who'd made a stunning bake) off the hook. It's left me wondering if Nancy does better and it was to 'preserve' her image.

Love Norm but Iain shouldn't have gone before him (sorry IScream I know Norm's your fave)

HellesBellesThinksSometimes · 27/08/2014 21:01

Needed to check I wasn't the only one thinking Diana was bang out of order! How was that not addressed?

Monkeyandanimal · 27/08/2014 21:02

yy indeed Suffolk

IScreamForIceCream · 27/08/2014 21:02

swex it was you that met his wasn't it? Did he seem bitter about the whole experience?

MissPricklePants · 27/08/2014 21:02

I think the wrong person was sent home! Poor Iain. I can't believe nobody said anything!

BravePotato · 27/08/2014 21:03

Unfair

Patilla · 27/08/2014 21:03

Well unless there was heavy editing then it feels as if that was an unfair decision.

There are so many times in the past that potential has kept a baker in even if they have had a hiccup. Apparently not in this case....

HellesBellesThinksSometimes · 27/08/2014 21:04

And I agree with MonkeyAndAnimal, I am hugely impressed that Ian took fun responsibility for not presenting because Paul was right - they could have judged what he did have as they did during custardgate.

Plonkysaurus · 27/08/2014 21:05

This has made me so angry. He took it so well.

I'd have wanted to do a bit of MN style baked Alaska cake punching if I were IainZ

Egghead68 · 27/08/2014 21:07

That was not a fair decision.

FriskyMare · 27/08/2014 21:09

When John Whaite chopped his finger off in the blender did he have a show stopper to present? Poor beardy Iain Sad

TortoiseUpATreeAgain · 27/08/2014 21:10

Did you see Iain's tweet before the show?

"It's Wednesday that means it's #DESSERTWEEK @BritishBakeOff - DON'T MISS tonights show, it's going to be bigger than the #RedWedding !!!!"

2kidsintow · 27/08/2014 21:10

That's unfair.

OK, so there were a few people using the freezer so maybe it was/wasn't Diana who took it out (but her snippy 'well you've got your own freezer' was a bit telling I think. And her 'I shall try and hold my head high' at the end.

And yes, he shouldn't have binned it (though I totally ROARED with laughter when he took the bin up to Mary and Paul. It brought back the Rob year when he presented his tarts in the tin when he couldn't get them out.

BUT.... I think a fairer outcome would have been no-one go home this week and 2 next week. This has happened before when something occurred (injury IIRC) so not a precendent.

Swex · 27/08/2014 21:10

When I met lovely Iain he said the coming weeks were full of ups and downs....

Too true.

Bad decision.

That was so noble of him, I'm really proud he didn't blame the others. But shame on them for not quietly letting the judges know it was their fault!

Dolly80 · 27/08/2014 21:12

Just look it up Frisky, they didn't get rid of anyone and then 2 the next week.

Dolly80 · 27/08/2014 21:12

Just looked it up - not just look it up Wink

Snapespotions · 27/08/2014 21:14

He was a gent in not blaming anyone. Sorry to see him go.

I can't believe Diana didn't own up. Shock

Dolly80 · 27/08/2014 21:14

Why didn't anyone mention what happened!? Mel, Sue, the other contestants. I find that odd.

Whyjustwhyagain · 27/08/2014 21:14

I can't believe the old bat didn't own up after behaving so badly. Shame on Diana.

FriskyMare · 27/08/2014 21:14

Exactly Dolly, so they could have done the same this week and then got rid of two next week.

Snapespotions · 27/08/2014 21:15

Paul and Mary may well have been told off camera.

Dolly80 · 27/08/2014 21:15

I think no one this week and two next would've been fairer all round.
