Book and tv series spoilers allowed.

OP posts:
ZenGardener · 03/06/2014 05:57

The ending was awful, I couldn't bear to watch.

Too many people know that the Stark children are still alive. It's interesting how it will play out.

Only two more episodes left!! Wah, I want more.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 03/06/2014 06:04

Wish they would just ship Arya off to Braavos already and Sansa and Arya need to stop telling everyone who they are!

hildasmuriel · 03/06/2014 08:22

Sansa is so striking that I would be amazed if people hadn't already recognised her, or at least had suspicions, especially those that had met her.

MTWTFSS · 03/06/2014 09:11

I want to watch the next episode now!!!!! [impatient face]

BelleOfTheBorstal · 05/06/2014 13:56

Loving the new vampish Sansa. She is definitely growing up and leaving the innocent little girl behind.

FolknNorah · 05/06/2014 17:35

Was anyone else still gutted about Oberyn despite knowing it was coming ? Hmm Grin
So I can definitely talk about and discuss the books further on in the series here? I'm checking because everyone I know is an Unsullied and I have to be really careful.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 05/06/2014 17:47

Folk, I've read them all. Including the Dunk and Egg series and all the released WoW chapters.

I only know unsullied too. And I don't like posting on the Westeros forum because it's not very feminism friendly IMO so I'm glad there's a thread here.

WhereTheWildlingsAre · 05/06/2014 17:59

The ending was totally gobsmacking! I did not see it coming at all. Watched like this through it all ---> Shock

Here's and alternative ending someone put together

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 05/06/2014 18:03

where you do know this is a spoiler allowed thread? If you didn't know it was coming have you read the books?

(Sorry if you knew that already, I just wouldn't want you stumbling across info you didn't want to know). Wink

WhereTheWildlingsAre · 05/06/2014 18:07

Yeah, I thought the clue was in the thread title Wink and don't mind. I am working my way through the books.

but I'll not post if you prefer me stay away. I can understand if you would rather I didn't.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 05/06/2014 18:09

No I don't mind, sorry (oops did I sound bossy in my last post?)I just didn't want to risk you finding out things you would rather not know yet! But if you're aware that may happen and are happy to stay that's fine. Grin

ZenGardener · 05/06/2014 18:25

I liked the scene where Sansa came down the stairs looking like Cat. She's growing up faster than the books, I think!

I will really miss Oberyn. The actor did a great job.

By the way did anyone see the twitter photo of Oberyn and the mountain in their swimming trunks? It actually cheered me up a bit.

Plus Oberyn has a hot body!!!

FolknNorah · 05/06/2014 18:53

Grin sorry of I caused confusion, I just wanted to be sure, I love talking about GoT but never can really.

I'll be back when the littlest twits are in bed.

Dornishwine · 05/06/2014 19:58

Oh! Hello!
So glad I found you all!
No one to talk to about my love obsession with GofT irl :(
Very upset at Mondays episode, even though I knew it was coming!
Pedro pascal did a wonderful job as oberyn.
Loving this whole series tbh, jaime trying for redemption, Sansa finally growing up, queen of thorns...
I have read the books but it's was long time ago...I have a bad feeling somehting happens to the hound...am I right?

FolknNorah · 05/06/2014 20:41

Yes, I think the bite goes sceptic and Arya leaves him for dead before going to Braavos (?) I might reread actually. I read it ages ago too.

MrsBeeee · 06/06/2014 14:29

Ah here you are. Spoilers allowed thread. Excellent.

Hound ends up being left for dead but is there not a bit in the book when Brienne is looking for him in a monastery and one of the monks tells her the Hound is no more, but GRRM writes about a tall and silent hooded figure working in the veggie patch (or similar). No reason to mention a particular monk in the context at all and I think we are meant to understand the Hound is no more because Sandor Clegane is now in the monastery.

Dornishwine · 06/06/2014 16:56

Ahhhh...yes.
It's all coming back to me..

anonacfr · 06/06/2014 19:41

Yes not to mention the monk is limping (he gets a leg injury in the book) and The Hound's horse is found stabled at the monastery.
The anonymous monk is nicknamed the Graveddigger (his chosen job) and he gets his own chapter too.

I was going through the GOT Tumblr page to see people's reactions to the horrible fight and I saw that the guy who plays Jon Snow accidentally blabbed that he was about to start shooting season 5.
Considering the epic battle coming next episode and the fact that all the heroes end up dead, it's a bit of an 'oops' moment. He's going to get told off... :)

Dornishwine · 06/06/2014 19:55

I can't see GRRM killing off jon....mind you, I would have said that about some of the other characters too!!
Jon is pretty central to the plot though, isn't he? Like a seam running through, like dany.
What do we think of aryas hysterical laughter when she found out lysa was dead?

anonacfr · 06/06/2014 20:19

How unspoilt are you????

Arya's laugh was fab. The Hound's dismayed face made her hysterical laughter even funnier.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 06/06/2014 20:31

I still, haven't seen it will have to be tomorrow night now, at least I won't have to wait too long for the next one. Big battle at castle black coming up, it's supposed to be as good as blackwater.
Yy the gravedigger is definitely Sandor, do you think the sept will use him to fight Cersei's champion ungregor Robert Strong ? He has been said to be the only man who can defeat him and it seems right.

Dornishwine · 06/06/2014 20:54

I'm going to have to read the last book again...

Trills · 06/06/2014 20:55

I liked Arya and Sansa's near miss. And I agree that it's hilarious that Arya keeps nearly catching up with family only for them to be dead.

Dornishwine · 06/06/2014 20:57

I do worry that all of aryas trauma is turning her into a bit of a homicidal Maniac....

MrsBeeee · 06/06/2014 21:06

Yup gravedigger, not veggies. Knew he was about though. I'm quite taken with the Hound (ok make that very very taken, was in the books but especially in the series due to the actor). Is too good a character not to come back, but I do think GRRM is just making it up as he goes along and he is now influenced by audience reaction.

I love Arya in the show, I think much better developed than in the book. Arya and the Hound are this series' Tyrion & Bronn. She gets much darker though.

Dornish (I almost called you DornOb Wink) you really need to read the last book again! But I agree, Jon too pivotal to kill. But then have also thought that before.......

Nah. Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark (Ned's sister and why he looks after him) and Rhaegar Targareon. He will get together with Daenarys in true Targareon incest style and be the eventual King on the Iron Throne. Her dragons will deal with the White Walkers. Sorted.
