I just saw the trailer and got really excited then, I remembered Sad. I can't imagine Don in the 70's! Will he still be married? How old will he be now?

Pete is such an arsehole. I thought that scene with him and Peggy dancing was so lovely. There must only be a couple left now.

Loved it!

EatSleepRaveRepeat · 22/05/2014 10:43

Last one next week :(

MarshaBrady · 22/05/2014 10:45

Great I haven't seen it yet but it sounds like it's back on track.

Lighthousekeeping · 22/05/2014 12:13

Oh it could've ended there and then last night. It would've been perfect.

Oh, I loved this episode. The scene with Don & Peggy and the final scene with Pete, Peggy & Don were just perfect. It made me realise how much I have missed seeing them interacting in the office.
Oh and as a bonus, Bob Benson.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 22/05/2014 15:32

Last one next week! Shock What am I going to do until next year?

Actually I might watch them again from the beginning.

IdaBlankenship · 22/05/2014 15:48

Let's have a weekly Mad Men catch up from series 1 - then we can still talk about it!

SquidgyMummy · 24/05/2014 13:24

Latest episode was fab! So many great scenes. Don dancing with Peggy was best; it is his most honest relationship.

Interesting seeing both Bonnie and Megan heading back to LA with their tale between their legs.

Sad that Joan is being screwed over by a car again.

I think Don will pull the cat out of the bag and win the Phillip Morris account. I wonder if Joan will rethink Bob Benson's proposal to be his beard

off to read TLo!

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 29/05/2014 13:25

Did anyone see last night's?

I'm a bit Confused about the ending! Grin

IdaBlankenship · 29/05/2014 13:58

I can't watch it as we have guests staying who do not watch MM (the fools!). It's the last one isn't it?

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 29/05/2014 14:52

When are they going home? No one I know watches MM either. Sad

I get the ending now. I won't say more as you haven't seen it but it was a bit random.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 29/05/2014 14:54

And yes it's the last one until next year.

I'm going to start watching from the beginning once I've finished 24.

SquidgyMummy · 29/05/2014 16:04

Yes the ending was very unexpected. Am off to read TLo until more people up to date to discuss....

mswibble · 29/05/2014 20:52

I thought last nights episode was fab. Loads of lovely points in it.
Peggy and Julio was sad, I think her baby would have been about his age. And I love that Peggy and Pete are firmly back on Team Don.
Glad Megan is gone now, hope its the last we see of her. The threesome was a real low for her character.
Loved Roger and Mona watching the moon landing with the grandson in a homemade space helmet with abandoned hub.
Berts dancing was ... well, a bit random but a fitting ending for the mid season finale.

Someone on the Guardian series blog worked out what the partners would get from the sell off. Those would be some extremely healthy bank accounts - though felt slightly sorry for Harry, second time he's missed the boat!

IdaBlankenship · 29/05/2014 22:07

Another few days Pete. Perhaps I shall do a sneaky late night or early morning viewing.
I don't know why no-one I know IRL watches Mad Men... or Game of Thrones come to think if it.

Lighthousekeeping · 30/05/2014 17:17

I don't know anybody who watches it either! I don't think it's that popular. Shame Jon Hamm is a one trick money as I will miss him.

IdaBlankenship · 03/06/2014 18:36

Well I've watched it........

I really liked the song & dance number. Very unexpected but unexpectedly tender-hearted. Farewell Bert.

I was high-fiving Roger when he came in to save Don on his white horse, although I wish him, Don, Peggy and Pete had decided to start their own agency. What is with Joan and her sudden loathing of Don? He has always treated her with respect - she pissed me off in this ep.

SorrelForbes · 03/06/2014 21:06

I've just finishing watching (back to back) episodes 5 - 7 (watched 4 last night). Maybe I'm a bit undiscerning, but I loved them. I really am starting to feel a bit shaky about the end drawing near!

I have no idea what's going on with Joan. Her behaviour towards Don is most odd and yes, it pissed me off too!

Oh but, I love Pete so much.

IdaBlankenship · 03/06/2014 21:19

There have been some seriously great moments this season. Mostly involving Don, Peggy & Pete.

It's going to be a long year.

SorrelForbes · 03/06/2014 21:21

Isn't it just. I truly believe it's the best thing that's ever been on TV.

I'm dreading saying goodbye, I feel like I know them Blush.

IdaBlankenship · 03/06/2014 21:43

Ah Sorrel we can make them live on by writing execrable fan fiction for evermore Grin

Seriously though, I agree, I will really miss it when it finishes. The show has consistently surprised me and it is just so beautifully put together.

SorrelForbes · 03/06/2014 21:49

Oh gosh, I dread to think how much bad sex with Pete my fiction would contain.

I think 'beautifully put together' is so accurate. It's visually stunning and oh, so clever.

There's hardly a character I don't like, I'm even rooting for Don these days Grin

IdaBlankenship · 04/06/2014 11:14

Sorrel I'd read your fanfic, as long as you don't start including sex scenes involving Harry Crane Smile

Nancy66 · 04/06/2014 11:19

I really hate all this 'mid season finale' bollocks.
by the time the second half of the series comes on, nobody will remember what happened in the first
