OP posts:
Quangle · 12/03/2014 21:38

Who is blond boy band type boy?

whineaholic · 12/03/2014 21:38

kilmuir harsh but true. If you choose to have children very young or without the security of marriage or without having built a career first then you are playing fast and loose with the very high chance you will live in poverty. If you then get into debt to buy " stuff" and smoke then well, there you are.

There IS enough benefit money for food it is thta peopel are making choices to spend it elsewhere.

foslady · 12/03/2014 21:38

If they refunded through credit unions it would help, but because credit unions don't go door to door the likes of legal loansharks target those who have bugger all

ImperialBlether · 12/03/2014 21:39

Apparently he's off TOWIE, Quangle. Never heard of him myself!

VelvetSpoon · 12/03/2014 21:39

It's such bollocks. No money, going without food/letting their kids feel guilty for eating (which I think is pretty appalling), yet they've all still got pets. Or smoke.

whineaholic · 12/03/2014 21:39

I wonder how the moneylenders can sleep at night.

I wonder how parents who choose to buy fags over food for their children can sleep at night too.

ImperialBlether · 12/03/2014 21:40

I noticed they paid nearly £1.50 for 2 litres of milk - it's only £1 in Asda. It seems such a huge difference when you're working at those levels.

Snargaluff · 12/03/2014 21:40

Fathers all absent?? What does that mean then?

He's from Made in Chelsea, not TOWIE.

I've seen him in rl, he's quite short, and v orange Grin

foslady · 12/03/2014 21:41

But how easy is it to get to the big supermarkets - all ours are on the edge of town...

whineaholic · 12/03/2014 21:42

But this is the cruz of it all isn't it? Most wealthy people are so because of the choices they make - they often make sacrifces short term for long term gain. They delay having families until they are financially secure and married /permanent relationship.

AmandinePoulain · 12/03/2014 21:42

To be honest I was very keen to donate after reading an article in Radio Times by David Tennent, just back from Africa where he visited children earning pennies sifting through rubbish dumps (one of which was the same age as dd1) and families affected by HIV. Stories like theirs are heartbreaking. I want my money to go to those families. Whilst I feel sad for the ones on this programme I just don't think the stories compare so I think I'll find a way to donate to charities that target those I want to help.

whineaholic · 12/03/2014 21:43

Quite easy in London, I'd hav ethought foslady.

Yes - where are all the fathers?

ImperialBlether · 12/03/2014 21:43

Got to love the TOWIE guy. "I just really miss the choice... the dips... the crisps... the elderflowers..."

Quangle · 12/03/2014 21:43

What is shocking is that I don't know how much I pay - I just buy the milk I need.

Easy to be judgemental about the fags but don't you have something in your life that you use to get through? Wine, choc, mags, makeup. Everyone has something.

ImperialBlether · 12/03/2014 21:44

Sorry, Made in Chelsea. I don't know the difference, really!

whineaholic · 12/03/2014 21:44

Ah. Chap with collapsed lung is a very heavy smoker. LOok at his fingers.

LavenderGreen14 · 12/03/2014 21:45

One lady is widowed, and the other fathers - well it isn't the mothers' fault if they don't provide for their own children.

ImperialBlether · 12/03/2014 21:45

They're not showing him smoking now though and he only has a couple of quid left after he's paid his heating.

Mandy2003 · 12/03/2014 21:46

I don't get why Paul only gets £51 a week if he is on the sick. Surely he should get at least £90. And the mum Theo's staying with - why doesn't she get WTC?

Quangle · 12/03/2014 21:46

I live in London, nowhere near a big supermarket. Ours are all locals. Nearest is a bus ride away so cost involved in getting there.

babyheaves · 12/03/2014 21:46

whineaholic - people can make choices like having children later in life, but if you get sick or you're made redundant, those choices don't add up to much.

whineaholic · 12/03/2014 21:46

Yes quangle but I don't then go on a TV programme to complain I can't then feed my own children nor do I access food banks to take food donated by kind hearted peopel who are probably struggling themselves.

gailforce1 · 12/03/2014 21:46

It is paying off debts that is causing so many of the problems. How can they afford to keep dogs and cats but not feed their kids?
