Tried to post on old thread and it's at 1000 :)

Gawd we can woffle Grin

Just watched last nights and why has Jane come back?

Why is no one mentioning that Cindy is 15 an therefore tech rape?

Strange that carls mum suddenly decides to come go the square - just as mitchell sisters are back

And still Amy is silent !!!! Wink

Blondes yes about Lauren's top lip!! I always think that too hahaha. I feel bad for poor lola. I mean lucy was a total bitch so it must be hard to have to act all devastated. People acting like she was some kind of saint now.

As you're all saying, Charlie/Dot storyline done very well. I hope dot doesn't get hurt :( she's so excited bless her

HeyJules · 13/05/2014 08:50

Another "out there" suggestion. Maybe carol killed lucy! Perhaps she's already been told she definitely won't survive the cancer, but is keeping it to herself and she wants everyone to be happy after she's gone. Found out about her and max and doesn't want her family all ripped apart. Was angry at her for getting in between Whitney and Dean. Hmmm. Pretty unlikely I suppose lol my top suspect is still Abbie, closely followed by a Mitchell member!!

FantaSea · 13/05/2014 13:24

HeyJules I think it's Phil.

I think arresting Jake is just to spin it all out - we've got to get round to February.

Fakebook · 13/05/2014 13:36

Jake is leaving in the summer, so it can't be him. I think there'll be a twist in the story around then. He'll get released from jail and then he'll leave. I'm beginning to think the Lucy and Dot story are linked in some way.
What does Dot (a poor old lady who lives in a council house and works in a launderette) have, for someone to go to such lengths to con? Confused

Redcoats · 13/05/2014 14:59

Ah if they've arrested Jake this early on then it wont be him, so I'll cross him off my top suspect list.

Is it definitely going to be a proper cast member? I can just see them introducing some random 'friend' of Lauren's in January and it turns out to be them.

FantaSea · 13/05/2014 16:16

Redcoats I really hope it is not someone new. I saw an interview with the current producer, and he was explaining that they wanted the big story for the 30th anniversary episode to be around Ian as he is the only original cast member who has been in it continuously since the start. The significance of this makes me think it is a big character, it has to be someone the audience is going to care is the killer and not just a sort of 'oh well'.

Redcoats · 13/05/2014 16:19

FantaSea - Oh that's alright then. I was imagining that they would be stringing us along for months, put each character in the spotlight one by one and then it being a big let down with some random person we don't know.
Back to my Miss Marple sleuthing then.

AGnu · 13/05/2014 17:26

Ian is the only character who's been in it all along but there's nothing to stop them bringing back an old character for the storyline... Say, for example, someone who was in the first episode who still has ties to the square...

I stand by my "Nick dunnit" hypothesis.

Did anyone twig to what the police found that prompted them to suddenly arrest Jake? Was it the cat earring? Possibly matches one they recovered from Lucy's stuff? Maybe even one she was wearing? I'm thinking he did try it on with her but I doubt he had anything to do with her death.

AGnu · 13/05/2014 17:28

Unless we suspect Dirty Den will rise from the dead again! Grin If I was the betting type I'd put money on it being someone from the first episode. Not sure how many of them are still alive but Nick's got to be the most likely, right?!

HeyJules · 13/05/2014 17:41

Nick is very likely considering the very first storyline thirty years ago was over who killed reg and everyone thinking it was nick. And as it will be revealed on the 30th anniversary episode it would all tie in well!!

HeyJules · 13/05/2014 17:45

On a completely different note does anyone remember Debbie from the earlier episodes? Debbie and Andy? I was 6 when eastenders started and I remember being so in awe of her! I thought she was like a princess hahaha

FantaSea · 13/05/2014 17:53

Yes, I remember Debbie!

bleedingheart · 13/05/2014 18:13

I remember them. Did Andy get knocked down?

HeyJules · 13/05/2014 18:53

I don't remember at all what happened with them bleedingheart. I would only watch it occasionally if my mum was lol! I didn't start watching it again until I was about 16 and thy were long gone. I know that they dated in real life though aww

bleedingheart · 13/05/2014 19:27

I seem to remember Debbie screaming as he got hit. They'd just fought or announced a pregnancy or something emotional!
I was only a child too. I watched it right from the start which is mad because I was a toddler and my mum didn't let me watch much on TV!

SilveryMoon · 13/05/2014 19:35

What about Lauren for killer?

HeyJules · 13/05/2014 19:39

Wasn't lauren at he party all night though? And she'd have witnesses of that?

QueenFuri · 13/05/2014 19:59

I think it was Ben they kept that quiet him getting out of jail . Maybe he killed Lucy for revenge on Ian?

HeyJules · 13/05/2014 20:01

But Johnny doesn't like jam! Haha remember the whole thing when he came out and linda put jam on his toast knowing he hates ham. Tonight he had jam. Dun dun duuuun

Fakebook · 13/05/2014 21:03

Just watched tonight's episode, it's Ben isn't it?! He killed Lucy..

I'm two episodes behind (ooh, the anticipation!) Love the Ben theory, Fakebook! Sweet little serial killer, with plenty of grudges ...

GarlicMayHaveNamechanged · 14/05/2014 02:20

I always assumed Lucy shagged Jake for building her website?

Coumarin · 14/05/2014 03:00

Brilliant episode tonight.

Line of the night "You know what Lucy's like, she'll be cold." Sad Adam W knocked it out the park again. He's scarily good at doing grief isn't he?

Liked the Shirley and Grandad (?) scenes. Took an instant dislike to Dean for some reason. I don't really remember him when he was previously in it as I wasn't a regular viewer then.

Love how much more depth the characters have now. I think it all got very predictable and quite shallow at one point. This new (ish) producer is fantastic imo.

Coumarin · 14/05/2014 03:01

And yes, Ben's looking like the prime suspect at the moment. Although I still have Nick as a very close second.
