Does anyone else watch it? Or is it just me...

I love it because it reminds me of another life when I used to sew (before the DC's came along and before I lost the footpedal to my sewing machine in a house move).

The contestants are just so talented and I like the beardy man judge too. Anyone else?

I kind of think the right person went insofar as I think they're going to end up with Heather, Chinelo and Lynda in the final so it's just a matter of picking away at them. In previous weeks I think it's been very obvious who should go, it seems to be getting much closer now.

I wish I could sew properly. I could buy lots of buttons .

OwlCapone · 12/03/2014 21:12

You can buy lots of buttons anyway.

I know Owl. I am seriously thinking of starting my own button tin. Even if DS won't appreciate it I will. Just a few a month. Nothing heavy. I can handle it.

OwlCapone · 12/03/2014 21:15

Button tins are good for the soul. :)

Roussette · 12/03/2014 21:20

I have a massive button tin. So did my dear old Mum. I just spill them out and look at them sometimes. Then put them all back in!

I have my own button tin, the tin from my childhood and one I picked up at a car boot sale. Happy times :)

iklboo · 12/03/2014 21:29

I am definitely starting a button tin. I often pick up dropped buttons I find in the street. That'll make a start.

Roussette · 13/03/2014 08:31

So many new clothes come with spare buttons attached or a little envelope with buttons in. I've never really needed a spare button because I often restitch buttons on new clothes when I buy them as they are often not securely attached anyway. However, what with my mum's buttons and my collection, I have a button for every single possible need!

When the DC's were little my button tin amused them for hours. They would put them in order of which ones they liked best and as I have hundreds it kept them amused for a long time! It's always the simple things isn't it... who needs iPads Grin

here's a lovely article and sums up how button collections brings back memories.

I have a wooden ikea button draw.
(Various sewing stuff lives in the the other draws in the set)

It's not as satisfying as the rattle of a tin.

DM used to let me empty her black button tin into a little round tray and play.

Dad was forever mending cars, old clothes went to him as rags and their buttons went in the tin!

I have a button tin! And all the sequins from all the thrown-away clothes in their own little tin, too.

I am sorted for rainy days with my toddler!

Roussette · 18/03/2014 18:46

Here is tonight's schedule. It's going to be a tricky one - nylon, leather and velvet!

TunipTheUnconquerable · 18/03/2014 18:52

I cannot WAIT to see them make anoraks. I mean, no-one makes anoraks!

figgypuddings · 18/03/2014 19:00

tiggytape! I love you! Thank you so much for finding dream shawl!

Roussette · 18/03/2014 19:28

I think tonight will be a 'make or break' episode because of the tricky materials. I hope Mr. Po-Po stays but I have a feeling he might fall by the wayside

Roussette · 18/03/2014 20:06

Oh good... there's different colours with the nylon, this is going to be interesting...

I could no more do this than fly.

DebbieOfMaddox · 18/03/2014 20:16

Well, now we know why no-one makes anoraks...

Oldraver · 18/03/2014 20:21

I think they all did a pretty good job with the anoraks

Roussette · 18/03/2014 20:23

Yes, and it must be hard to not get your confidence knocked on such a difficult challenge

oif · 18/03/2014 20:31

Roussette · 18/03/2014 20:32
