Does anyone else watch it? Or is it just me...

I love it because it reminds me of another life when I used to sew (before the DC's came along and before I lost the footpedal to my sewing machine in a house move).

The contestants are just so talented and I like the beardy man judge too. Anyone else?

I think your question may have just been answered...

coffeeinbed · 18/02/2014 20:11

how does she freehand it?
Confused

DebbieOfMaddox · 18/02/2014 20:12

She might drape rather than do flat cutting, maybe?

coffeeinbed · 18/02/2014 20:12

We shall see!
Can't wait.
It does limit what you can sew, though.

OwlCapone · 18/02/2014 20:13

I want to move into that studio.

Roussette · 18/02/2014 20:13

Out of all the fabrics there, do those two match? (the contestant with the two different fabrics...)

The voiceover phrasing did make that sound like "chaplain in a Buddhist prison", which is an interesting mental image.

coffeeinbed · 18/02/2014 20:16

I like that top one of the contestants is wearing, with the draped shoulder.

DebbieOfMaddox · 18/02/2014 20:17

I always have to look up the instructions for that turning right way out every time I do it, because I have no spatial awareness whatsoever.

oif · 18/02/2014 20:20

evening all…

also v excited gbsb is back. have cup of earl grey and flapjack and sewing on tv - So comforting. Love watching all the craftsmanship. I am far too slapdash to sew properly...

coffeeinbed · 18/02/2014 20:20

It's mostly quilting cottons they used, there won't be much drape.

Roussette · 18/02/2014 20:20

Goodness... Cliff... oh dear! I think he was too busy chanting!

DebbieOfMaddox · 18/02/2014 20:20

Oh dear, Cliff...

canutesauntie · 18/02/2014 20:20

How do you pass the audition for this without knowing about understitching a facing? Surely thats really basic?
Really glad this is back Grin

oif · 18/02/2014 20:21

eek poor cliff!

oif · 18/02/2014 20:23

Simon's sewing looks like mine - bit dodgy

coffeeinbed · 18/02/2014 20:24

I find trim woman annoying. Sorry.

OwlCapone · 18/02/2014 20:25

I'm going to have to dust off my sewing machine.

Roussette · 18/02/2014 20:27

Ooops phone went... what are they doing now? Adapting a wool skirt?

OP posts:
DebbieOfMaddox · 18/02/2014 20:27

Is Cliff using cotton in a "woollen fabrics" challenge?

OwlCapone · 18/02/2014 20:28

What on earth does Waistcoat Woman think she looks like?

oif · 18/02/2014 20:28

secret dungarees! Grin

DebbieOfMaddox · 18/02/2014 20:28

Yes, it's a calf/floor length wool skirt and they have to do Something to it to make it Different.

Roussette · 18/02/2014 20:30

Hmmm... interesting...

Dungarees. Oh well!
