I really dislike Carl.

More so than usual.

Lol I'm not going to be able to hear Rick say Carl without hearing Coral again(!)

laraeo · 12/02/2014 00:20

Monroe, someone should have a compass to take attendance.

I agree, there should be plans A - D and probably an E and F too.

When the zombie apocalypse comes, I'd like to meet it in one of these

I think last night was great with regards to character development, we heard part of michonne's past, saw that she would rather be alive and not dead.

Rick realised that he could not have a normal life no matter how many potatoes he tried to plant, he came to understand that this is the norm.

Coral was angry and you can understand that, his mum is dead, his sister may be and his dad was acting like a dick for the last so many months, he called him on that.

I felt sorry for him when he was sat in that teenagers room. He wanted that life not the one he has now, I know I would be pissed.

Hopefully Rick will pull his head out of his ass and use the common sense that Michonne seems to have in buckets.

Monroe · 12/02/2014 10:10

Michonne is great. I was really moved when she saw them through the window and started crying.

I just kept thinking all through it though how much I wanted to give rick a bed bath. And it wasn't even a euphemism Grin

CosyTeaBags · 12/02/2014 10:25

I love this thread

If those Webisode links don't work, just Google 'Walking Dead Webisodes' - I managed to watch them in the UK. And they're good.

I too wondered why they haven't all adopted Michonne's armless walker strategy.. but DP pointed out that she keeps her cards close to her chest, so perhaps she hasn't told anyone about it? I also think that it takes a strong nerve to carry it off, which she has in spades but others might blow it. I'm sure Double-Hard-Darryl could manage it though.

But yes, the prison defences were crap. They should have lined the whole perimeter with spikes, and maybe a ditch. Then maybe some armless toothless walkers as disguise. AND they should have had a regular rota of zombie culling to prevent build up.

As for getting smarter at avoiding Zombies... Yes! Why the hell do they continue to insist on creeping quietly into houses, only to be surprised when they wake up a zombie. Why don't they just bang on the door to draw them all out first?

And Monroe can I join your post-zombie apocalypse camp? You sound like you've got it sorted. (unless you're THE Monroe from Revolution, in which case you're a devastatingly handsome psychopath..)

And marking of houses people - Cooorraaal did it in this episode, and someone did it in one of the Webisodes. WHy don't they all do it - "Dead inside" or "House cleared - no food here" or whatever.

Finally, much as I dislike Corraaal and LOVE Rick, I thought it was quite nice how they're basically showing him going through what all teenagers go through. Dad can't tell me what to do, I'm a grown up now I can make my own decisions. But all set in the context of zombie apocalypse.

Phew, that's my thoughts for the day folks. Can't wait till Sunday!

Clearly indeed to reread before posting.

A clipboard to take attendance.

I am a massive Walking Dead fan and yet somehow managed to miss the last episode of this season before this break. I think I thought it was over the week before and took it off series record. Then watched this episode's 'Previously on The Walking Dead' and went nooooo!

Anyone any idea where I can see it? I've read a detailed synopsis so know what happens but it sounds like a corker and I would still like to see it.

Such an idiot....

Frigintinsella · 12/02/2014 11:50

I was doing a Rock impression at work and everyone was saying 'there's nobody called Coral in it'
I must have it prefected Grin
I like Coral (apart from the revealing bits of the episode that were in Michonne's point of view) my favourite bit was the clip of him eating the chocolate pudding on the roof with the walker's hand trying to grab him from the window it portrayed his vulnerability which helps me stay on his side when he's being a bit of a twat.

Frigintinsella · 12/02/2014 11:50

Rick impression not Rock

limitedperiodonly · 12/02/2014 11:54

Michonne must have shared the armless, jawless trick with Andrea because she did it too. Bloody difficult though.

Coral has really grown on me.

cosy it annoyed me that you didn't see them clearing the dead zombies from the fence too. There appeared to be no respite from the onslaught so you'd end up with a ramp of them that the others could climb over and it would be a bit of a health hazard.

Monroe · 12/02/2014 13:00

Listmaker The last episodes were being repeated on Fox so you should be able to get it on catch up if you have Virgin. Not sure about Sky.

Andrea travelled with Michonne for quite a while didn't she so she probably just asked why she had a couple of pet zombies. I don't remember Michonne using that trick in front of anyone else though so no they possibly don't know about it.

I probably would have a clipboard. Full of rota's and lists. I love a good list. And all vehicles would be fully fueled at all times, local camping stores would be raided and sleeping bags and cooking stoves and a stock of food would be kept in the boots. All members of camp would have an OFRS and zombie buddy to travel with. If one is bitten it is the duty of their buddy to stake em in the head and travel on without them. I will also have a batman style utility belt full of sharpened household implements - think knitting needles with handles - along with my numerous knives. Not that I've thought about it much.

limitedperiodonly · 12/02/2014 13:06

I don't get why the disabled zombies walk quietly on leads. I never managed to teach my dog to do that.

If they weren't constantly crossing in front of you and tripping you up, surely they'd keep trying to gum you to death?

Monroe · 12/02/2014 13:20

I think it was Andrea that told someone at Woodbury about it (Milton?) when she captured one to go to the prison with. Something to do with if you remove the lower jaw and arms, therefore their ability to attack they lose the urge to attack / bite and just wander around meekly intstead.

BlueFrenchHorn · 12/02/2014 13:31

I think when their mouths and arms are removed they become docile and the urge to bite disappears.

Have to say, am glad hershall's dead. He was like a cockroach the amount of times he dodged death. I thought the show would end with every living thing if the planet dead. Except Hershall.

Can't wait for the next episode!

Yes. The worst bit for me was when he was nursing the flu victims in the hospital wing.

When they died he'd go and sit with them for a little while. Then he'd go and get a gurney and struggle to put it up like I always do with my ironing board because it's a bit tricky, then he carefully loaded them on to it, then he respectfully covered their faces, then he s-l-o-w-l-y wheeled them into the hallway so the others wouldn't get spooked, then he carefully shut the door, then he held the spike over their heads, then he put it down and said a silent prayer.

I fucking hated him.

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 14:07

zacharyquack that was what I was saying to DH when we watched it - why didn't they all have zombies on leads?
Also why did they have to leave the prison - surely it would be easier to repair the fences than find a whole new sanctuary? I assume the gated cells were still safe, and they had that nice veg patch.
One thing is for sure, if a zombie apocalypse happens, I want to be with Darryl or Michonne.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 12/02/2014 15:04

I liked him, although he did make me worry a lot, what with hobbling around on his wooden leg, and insisting on risking catching the virus.

I thought his gnashing disembodied head in the latest episode was a nice touch, made me laugh!

PeanutPatty · 12/02/2014 16:54

I agree about Herschel. Every episode he would agree to go on an outing or join in with something that would basically put the entire group at risk. Each time I'd be saying "so it will be TONIGHT that he finally gets it then?" Only for him to be saved.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 12/02/2014 17:08

DH loves this programme and I really cannot fathom it Confused

There seems to be the same thing happening all the time.
People walk along.
A walker tottles along or growls through the fence.
They shoot/stap/kick them to death

And again to the next one.
Where's the storyline Hmm

HighlanderMam · 12/02/2014 17:12

70isaLimitNotaTarget

You NEED to watch it from the start, were midway through season 4 now.

Download all previous seasons and watch from the start, guarantee you will be hooked by episode 3 of the first season.

PeanutPatty · 12/02/2014 17:57

It's very Moreish 70! There is a massive backstory so worth starting from scratch.

MrPP said that the science place that got blown up in Series 2 (I think) would have made an awesome safe house. Had it not been blown up. Obvs.

IdaBlankenship · 12/02/2014 18:26

Why don't they head for the coast - they need an island. I'm baggsying Lundy for when the undead start roaming.

Monroe · 12/02/2014 18:52

Cruise ship. Really big one. You could easily fit a few thousand on it so plenty of room for everyone. Clear it of the undead, stock up on food and fuel and anchor just off the coast so you can make regular trips back to raid the local shops if you run out of anything.
