Calling all X-Philes! Weekly ep thread.

Following on from this thread, we're working our way through our X-Files boxsets by choosing a few eps from each season and watching one every Sunday night. Last week we watched Beyond the Sea but tonight's s1 episode hasn't been chosen yet - maybe Lazarus or Young at Heart.

So come, join us, and re-live the excitement! Sigh again at the forehead-kiss, weep at the demise of Deep Throat, marvel at how they disguise Gillian Anderson's pregnancy...

S1 Scully is really off, character development-wise. I think CC & co were under pressure from Fox to make Scully 'normal' and girly IYKWIM, giving her dates and ex-boyfriends and such, because there was already such pressure over casting Gillian Anderson who was Shock Shock NOT BLONDE AND BOOBY. Idiots.

I think GA was perfect. Some busty blonde eouldvt have ever worked!!

Besides, despite a few dodgy hair styles which weren't her fault I think she's beautiful and they certainly appeared to have good chemistry on set.

She's gorgeous. And yes it was perfect casting. I think they have chemistry in rl too looking at some YouTube clips.

They got so good at "the looks" didn't they. The ones which just showed the other just how much they loved cared for eachother and the concern.

I've just watched per manum. Where in flash backs she'd asked him to be a sperm donor and he agreed. And how he pulled her in for a hug when he realised it hadn't worked.

Why can't we have that in real life. Someone who knows us and loves us that much searches for grip :o

Oh believe me, I think she was and is perfect too! I idolised her (well, Scully really) all through my teens. And she was 23 I think in S1! That is just ridiculous.

Yes, the hairstyles. Poor GA, and DD too, didn't he have the soft spiky look at some point? Then again, it was the early nineties, I was wearing jeans with one leg white denim, one leg black when XF started. Now that was stylish.

and I didn't draw all the strange x file symbols all over my school books , nope never happened

no "the truth is out there" all over my folders either

no lines from the show written on my books , no stories based on aliens and ghosts were ever read in the school library
