I really enjoyed tonight's episode more than any bit sad its no more will be shown.

I watched the very first episode on Gold last night. Karen and Ben were so small, makes you realise how fast kids grow up!

Excellent programme. Wish there was more of that sort of comedy around.

Sat with 13y ds and watched the final episode. It's been great watching this series together.
Ds has loved watching Ben, as well as the ongoing saga with the missing hamster.

I also feel quite sad that it's come to an end, probably because it reminded me how fast ds is growing up and becoming so independent.

Aw, got a little bit emotional knowing that was the last one ever. Glad AA came back for a visit. Think they went out on a bit of a schmaltzy high but why not?!

It all came good in the end Smile.

I really enjoyed it this week, I like it much better when the incompetent adults thing isn't the main thrust of the story and Aunty Angela is brilliant. So glad it went out on a high note.

I have not liked this series at all - I think on balance it was a mistake. With the kids grown up it wasn't nearly so funny, especially Karen who was an absolute hoot as a small girl, but somehow stilted in this series. I know that's her part, to be a slightly gloomy pre teen but she didn't seem comfortable with her part. The boys were ok but I got so tired of seeing dad with his confused expression and that business with Sue at work was ridiculous. I think good script writers/actors know when to stop a series and it's a pity I think that they did this series.

However lots of people liked it ...................................

'm not sure why her parents think she is clever if she's doing poorly in her tests and thinks there's hope for a hamster that's been under the floorboards for 2 months either

We had a hamster that was missing for a few months and when it finally turned up it was huge. She had the naivety of an 11 year old, doesnt mean that she icant be that bright

Grin at all the nitpicking on this thread. of course lots of it wouldn't happen in real life, have you watched bbc sitcoms before? Wink

ds(12) loves this series and it thought it was funnier than the earlier ones. had to switch over for the spartacus bit, it made me wince!

Well, she was right about the hamster and everyone else was wrong... :)

I loved how it ended with Spartacus the musical.

After last week's dire episode, I thought this one was lovely too. I think it was more reflective of family life than other episodes too. I found some of the behaviour in previous episodes quite appalling but this one had some warm and fuzzy bits and showed that families can support each other and show each other a bit of love. I particularly enjoyed the play.

What I loved about the play was how crap it was and how proud the parents in the audience were anyway :) Quite true to life!
