three, don't worry, I am a one man woman and it's Pot all the way for me (unfortunately, as I am old enough to be his mother). Never fear, Boris is safe.

raahh, your doc is speedy. Glad you have a bit of relief.

Yay Stan! I want rafa to win tomorrow (obviously Grin) but the final I'm a little torn if it's between them.

Raahh · 23/01/2014 14:55

Mama- I know what you mean. Obviously I want Rafa to win- but so long as it's a close match, i'd be pleased to see Stan take the trophy.

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 16:18

Mama pleased to hear your dd doing well. Hope it continues. Raahh, what's up with your ds? My dh isn't doing too well - docs wanted to admit him but, as predicted, he argued the toss. Only got home about an hour ago but since then his pain has increased and he's very sleepy :(

Anyway, glad Stan won. I kind of like Stan's style too. He had some particularly nice trainers towards the end of last season. Looking forward to tomorrow's match, all being well.

Raahh · 23/01/2014 16:23

Juan- sorry to hear about your DH- men can be stubborn.

ds suffers from abdominal migraines, and they seem to be getting more frequent. I've always had migraines, since the same age- bt we're hoping he will grow out of them.

I like Stan's scruffinessGrin. From the little I did see today, he played some amazing shots. I really want to see him against Nadal- it could be a real fight- if not necessarily the most elegant of matchesGrin

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 16:28

Lots of talk about Nadal's blister and how it might effect his performance tomorrow. I don't recall him having any in the past?

OP posts:
JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 16:30

Thanks Raahh. Seems we have more in common than tennis - I too get migraine, and my ds1 used to get abdominal migraine. Don't recall him getting any past age about 11/12 though so hopefully will be the same for your ds.

OP posts:
threebats · 23/01/2014 17:52

I get migraine - then I get vertigo right after it, I walk about like a zombie with the migraine then a drunk after it with the vertigo.

So - I missed a good match then? I got the woman in dispensary in college to call up the scores for me whenever I needed a loo break this morning - which was so, so, so often Grin In the end she would see me coming and have them up ready for me.
I am off tomorrow - its utterly pointless me going in as I have no work to do there but work to do here so I shall be watching the match! Hurrah!

Is it an 8am start again?

Do you mean Nadal having blisters in the past juan? This one he has got is pretty yuck and nasty but if I were him, I would have my eye on the prize and a good medic to hand.

Raahh · 23/01/2014 17:58

Juan- I'm hoping you are right about ds. Migraines are pretty horrible. Mine have developed in to hormone driven ones- disappeared completely when I was pregnant. Bit of an extreme cure, thoughGrin

The blisters did look a mess- and the tatty plasters on his fingersGrin. I'm hoping that it doesn't affect him too much. He doesn't need a 5 set match, really- although as a spectator a Fed/Nadal final should be special.

Maybe Potato's magic medicine works on hands as well as knees? Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 17:59

I didn't see the match either three but from what I gather it was a bit lacking in atmosphere. Right outcome for me though. Yes I did mean Nadal's blisters - is he prone to them? I've been reading about some special machine they've had flown in to help him heal. Is it wrong to be sceptical of the powers of said machine? :)

OP posts:
threebats · 23/01/2014 18:10

Magic medicine? For blisters? Never heard of such a thing. Shove some tea tree oil on it, wrap it up and man up would be my advice Grin Heaven help him if he had to give birth or breast feed with sore boobs - can you imagine the drama...
So, the match was a case of, good looking score but really dull to watch? The way I was thinking was, God, really? Another tie break - why am I not at home watching this? Typical, really typical. I miss everything good.
Glad it was dull. Hope tomorrow is not.
Can somebody tell me if its an 8am start? Its important that I do not get up at 6 when I could have slept till 7? That hour makes all the difference I tell you - all the difference. It means I can finish my book tonight and not force myself to sleep an hour earlier than I need to!

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 18:43

Does sound a bit far fetched doesn't it? Still, guess he has the money and access to top docs to try anything. Wonder if anyone has actually suggested teatree oil? Go on three - I dare you! Match due to start "not before" 7.30pm Australian time which is 9.30am here. What you reading?

OP posts:
HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/01/2014 18:53

Aus Open site says not before 7.30pm. Which I think is 8.30am. BBC TV coverage starts at 8.15am tomorrow which would be about right for 8.30 start.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/01/2014 18:54

How is your DH now Juan. More pain and sleepy doesn't sound good.

threebats · 23/01/2014 19:11

Thanks for the time.... James Patterson, four blind mice. Its an old one but I have not read this series, am steadily making my way through.

Hope all is well Juan
Shall see you Tennis peeps in the morning then!
Tennis

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 19:17

Oh dear. Hospital just rung - blood tests from earlier showing raised infection markers. They want him back tomorrow. He's still in pain. Don't want to sound callous but why is he not ill when there's no tennis? His illness is such a part of our life I do get a bit blasé about it - it's not that I don't care, I do very much. Oh well, fingers crossed.

OP posts:
Mama1980 · 23/01/2014 19:22

Thanks Juan, how's your dh doing? More pain doesn't sound good.
How's your ds raahh? I hope he's feeling better.
I'm shattered, pity no one else is! Will be back in the morning 8 am programme start Eurosport is saying for a 8.30 ish start, so happy they are playing in the evening!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/01/2014 20:03

I'm hoping bbc will decide to put it online. Can't see anywhere that says they are going to though.

magimedi · 23/01/2014 22:24

HOORAY, HOORAY HOORAY

BBC 2 are showing the match - from 8.15am tomorrow.

Gloom - At 9am I have to be at the dentist for a filling (yes, Pesky, I stil have my own gnashers!) - but have set up record & hope to be home & watching by 10am.

threebats · 24/01/2014 06:57

Morning all,
BBC2 are showing match? No adverts then - that is great.., not that I do not enjoy the every other advert being Bruce Willis but we do miss out on the shirt changing between games when we have adverts!
Sorry about your dh juan let us know how you go today?
Is your ds ill raahh? Apologies, I must have missed the post where you said so - hope he is okay as well.
If I recall, is your ds ill anyhow? I seem to remember something going on back when Wimbles was on? I remembered farley's juan dh but my memory sucks I am afraid - hope all is well with you both today.

When I had my smear last week I suffered a massive bleed after it - it was biblical, get up at night and change bed and have a bath sort of bleed. It went on for days. Exacerbated by stress I suspect over ds and his college nightmare. I feel as weak as a kitten today which is the real reason I am taking the day off college, I do not have the energy to get up and go in for the day - yesterday wiped me out, I was practically asleep in class by 3pm. I had a reflexology treatment and it completely hurt which is what can happen if you are not well. My feet felt like dead weights after it and I could barely keep my eyes open. Today the bleed has subsided somewhat which I am grateful for but I am white as a ghost and as said, feel weak and tired.
Not nearly as bad as your husband juan or your ds raahh but honestly? I am in the not feeling 100% camp with them both. They have my greatest sympathies and wishes for speedy recovery.

Raahh · 24/01/2014 08:28

Morning!

Ds feeling better today- fortunately his migraine attacks don't last too long. Unfortunately mine do- and I feel rubbish today.

I'm watching the BBC at the moment- even though it is Andrew Castle. I may watch Sky if commentates like an idiot, though.
But for once, i am in total agreement with- as he says there is an argument as to who is the greatest player of all time, and currently Federer with more GS titles has the edge, but in terms of head to heads, and records (fitness allowing)- Nadal will probably over take him. Nadal has only ever lost to Federer at Wimbledon, in the final- he has a 22-10 record against him.

I want lots of views of Stefan.

I really want to go to sleep though.

Errani and Vinci have won the ladies' doubles. They are great doubles players, but Errani never seems to translate that to singles, despite being as high as number 5. i like her though.

noddyholder · 24/01/2014 08:33

So excited for this Come on Roger!

Raahh · 24/01/2014 08:40

ooh, i would love some authoritative words from Edberg too. Grin

Mama1980 · 24/01/2014 08:43

Morning all
vamos rafa!

Starballbunny · 24/01/2014 08:46

An interview with SE would be nice.

I wish they'd get on, I have to go out at 9.30

JuanPotatoTwo · 24/01/2014 08:48

Morning all. three sorry you're suffering. Good decision to have a day off, and what more could you ask for than tennis to entertain you. Dh was very sick last night (as in puking) but says he feels much better this morning. So he says he can drive himself into hospital, bless him. I'm set up in front of tv and short of disaster am not moving. So glad match is in bbc2, makes it easier.

muddled, you may still have your own choppers for now but sounds like they're giving up the ghost fast. I have a lovely recipe for carrot purée if you're interested?
