three, don't worry, I am a one man woman and it's Pot all the way for me (unfortunately, as I am old enough to be his mother). Never fear, Boris is safe.

raahh, your doc is speedy. Glad you have a bit of relief.

Roger is back! I would want Murray against anyone else (maybe not Ferrer)

Mama1980 · 22/01/2014 14:12

Well done Juan! I really hope your dh is ok.
Magi I don't like federer either today was the first day I actually wanted Murray to win-oh well.
I'm off for baby girl to have a check up this afternoon, waiting for my brother to pick us up. My 13 month old has decided not to co operate at all he wants my ds1 to be with him all the time, joined at the hip those two, glad my eldest has patience! Anyway so it's been a long afternoon so far, and am hoping my brother can distract him long enough at the drs for me to actually hear what's being said. Wish us luck!

anonacfr · 22/01/2014 14:46

ROGER. IS. NOT. SMUG. Angry

JuanPotatoTwo · 22/01/2014 15:22

Thank you for good wishes all. Hope doc goes ok mamma. Am still waiting for dh (started a thread in chat to tell of my courage!).

Muddledmagi - I am more than able to deal with two crushes - bit of competition is good for them both. And I never have to ring Pot, he rings meSmile

I'm excited by a Rafa/Rog match up- especially as Roger is playing better than he had over the last year. He had some bad losses against Rafa last year, very one sided. i hope this match will be one of their classics- it might be the last time in a grand slam. The court favours Roger, since it is faster, than Nadal - but Nadal has adapted to it ok. He's yet to look totally comfortable though.

I'm still going with Nadal- even though it will mean not seeing Stefan courtside.Grin

I'm hoping for a Rafa/Stan final.

(i will probably be wrongGrin).

JuanPotatoTwo · 22/01/2014 16:03

I'd love a Rafa v Stan final too, but only if Stan brings his self belief along and does himself justice. Although, I'd q like Roger to keep on going. Basically, now that Pot is out, I don't really mind (except dont want Berdy to win). Rafa's hand looks nasty. Hope it won't hinder his game too much.

Old Rog doesn't appear to be as smug as he used to be - he was a little bit humble when he was talking the other day about how he is planning before he comes out for a match now - you know before he always used to arrive with his personalised kit and lord it about a bit? With this look about him that sort of said, 'I have turned up, that is enough, minions praise me...' I haven't seen a lot of that lately. He kept loosing, his ranking sank down, he was not so lordy about matters. Plus the entire, whole world started shouting 'retire!' It appears to have humbled him somewhat - who knows, by Wimbles he may arrive back on court with his old self in tow. But he has appeared more human to me this last week.

I am taking dd ipad thingie into college with me over the next 2 days and pretending to use it for case study work - I will really be checking scores on the matches as they happen - I can not even believe I am going to miss the semi of Nadal and Rog. Huh. I will be sat in anatomy and physiology for 3 hours from 9am Friday - its completely outrageous.

BorisBeckersCupboard · 22/01/2014 17:09

agree with you threebats about Rogers attitude lately.
Andy Sad
now im going for Roger to win next match.
and I like both Berdych and stan so don't mind who wins that one as long as the winner there wins the final! good to see a new name on the trophy.

threebats · 22/01/2014 18:18

I am honoured cupboard somebody agreeing with me is so outside of the realm of normality I feel quite touched - would you mind having a word with my offspring and telling them that they have to agree with me as well - about everything?

BorisBeckersCupboard · 22/01/2014 19:00

I always think im the only one who thin ks 'outside the box' so its good to have an ally Grin.
RF used to annoy me with his posturing and fashion sense!
last week he did an exhibition match (well, a couple of games) with Rod Laver! that was fun.

Raahh · 22/01/2014 20:33

So Berdych and Stan tomorrow at 8 ish.

in most tournaments the semis are played at the same time.

Glad to have some men's tennis tomorrow -(apologies to the women, but it just gets dull. So much more likely to have bagel-sets, even with the supposed top players).

anonacfr · 22/01/2014 22:28

Roger never postured!!!!!!!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 22/01/2014 23:03

Leave Roger alone you meanies.

I like Andy, but am glad Roger won and that it sounds like he is playing well. Hoping for a really good semi final between Roger and Rafa. Pity I won't be able to see it.

threebats · 23/01/2014 06:00

If I close my eyes - I can see Roger doing Vogue with Madonna!
Bless his monogrammed socks - he is warming I think, in his dotage, he's getting more likeable for me anyhow. I am teasing anona when I say these things.

Enjoy the match today (sulk) I will have clients in college this morning so not a slim hope in heck of watching and if I am caught with my phone? Confiscated - confiscated - at my age!?

I was thinking it was perhaps my being obtuse, but Stan's match is a semi, correct? How come its on today? That's an entire extra day for whoever wins to chill before the final?
Happy watching guys Envy

MrsSteptoe · 23/01/2014 08:56

Anyone out there watching Stan and Berdych? Who is wearing that horrid football shirt again in what I can only think is a distraction tactic?

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 09:15

Hi Berdy is wearing football shirt. Only watching for few mins as have to take dh to the supremely inappropriately named rapid assessment unit at hospital. Fingers crossed they don't want to keep him in - he'll raise heaven and earth to stay out of it which sometimes involves much arguing on his part.

In other news - next time I want a new boyfriend (which I won't before muddled accuses me of infidelity :) ) I'm going straight to the tip. Got wolf whistled at by one of the children who work there this morning. Which is an improvement on last time when I fell down the stairs.

Right - Stan to win. Good day to everyone.

magimedi · 23/01/2014 09:19

Pesky I know you are a fickle cow!!

Did the lad at the tip need an appointment @ Specsavers? Grin

Fingers crossed for your DH. Don't blame him at all not wanting to go in to hospital.

I also think Stan will win, but tomorrow is the one that excites me most.

JuanPotatoTwo · 23/01/2014 09:21

Huh, you're up early for an old lady. Lad at tip was an Adonis, perfect in every respect. Looked a lot like Pot in fact, same age as well.

OP posts:
anonacfr · 23/01/2014 10:43

Go Stan! Why is Berdych so arse-sweaty?

Mama1980 · 23/01/2014 11:18

Morning all, c'mon Stan!
Berdych deserves to lose simply for wearing that awful awful shirt!

Mama1980 · 23/01/2014 11:21

And in other news baby girl got on great yesterday, the drs are very pleased with her progress, she is thriving which given the circumstances is quite remarkable! I'm very proud.
I hope your dh is feeling better Juan.

Raahh · 23/01/2014 11:34

I have missed most of this- ds is off ill.

Yes- Berdych looks like a baseball umpire- were bad shirt!

C'mon Stan!

MrsSteptoe · 23/01/2014 12:01

God, another tie break. Whichever one of them wins, they'll be too buggered to cope with the final. Unless Rog/Raf slay each other over five sets as well, in which case the pitch is a bit more levelled.

MrsSteptoe · 23/01/2014 12:06

Surely this can be the only time anyone would ever support Stan on sartorial grounds. It takes a special kind of awful shirt to make Stan look the better dressed player.

Raahh · 23/01/2014 12:12

well done Stan! and at least he gets longer to recover.
