Yy, suspicious boat man's (nice ascot) first wife is deffo going to turn out to be Someone Significant.

Caroline's Boobjob Bastard husband is a Scandi Martin Clunes.

Every time we saw drug company lady's house I couldn't help but shout 'But where is all the STUFF?!!' at the screen. Very Grand Designs!

lurkingaround · 20/01/2014 00:26

Hello all. Have just watched it.
I also wonder about the drug dying woman with the sterile house. As someone up thread said, she has nothing to lose. Don't know why she would do it tho. And I bet the tatto is a toad. And she very clearly dislikes her brother. I wonder when we'll get that story.
Boat guy has to be involved but could he be just a pawn.

Anyway, it's bloody great to have something on telly to watch.

And then the sister having it off with her BIL!! OMG. Horrible woman. There's a lot of threads to keep track of.

And the nut-job nanny!
Poor Jakob's mother. What a fright for her, meeting Saga. That will take some getting used to.

It is such good telly.

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 11:07

I love this series so much, particularly I worship Saga.

I love that Martin contributes nothing at all to the investigation except of a bit of duffing up when necessary, having loads of children available for attack by horror loons, giving that smiley colleague loads of lifts and teasing her to the point of derangement. Watching out for Saga being disrespected by Rubbish Young Detective (who is surely going to be impaled upon a pipe in the harbour with his head blown off for his crimes against the case) And generally meandering into the office and looking at Saga to see what she's worked out against the odds. Oh he also steps in when Saga is being too aggressive with the questioning.
Showing Jens the case is silly but interesting.
Surely the dreary EU keynote speech could be some sort of denouement moment.
Does Martin Clunes a like Bastard Titjob Husband know that his sis in law squeeze put wifey in touch with the CallBoy?
Did Martin get any from his wife or just a bit of spooning? My DH says he got more than a cuddle.

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 11:10

Surely beautiful pouty girls dad must be involved with his filming of the boat going into the bridge in the first place, his weird home security system which is more efficient than the hospitals.
but he wouldn't poison his own daughter would he, if he was who she saw at the stadium?
Hmm
Brew

diddl · 20/01/2014 11:20

Have I misheard-or does Martin say "Sayga" & the others "Saga" iyswim?

stinkingbishop · 20/01/2014 11:24

I know...I'd assumed it was pouty girl's own Dad, and that was why the shots were deliberately misfired so she wouldn't die...but why then the poisoning. Hm.

Viktoria's brother talked about how she had 6 months but 'knowing her, that'll be 18'. Is he/she involved in the drugs thing to try to get some sort of new chemo to help her live longer? Tatoo defo a toad, agree.

Plus there's a mole isn't there? Only boss guy and Jakob knew about Saga being at the hotel. Have thought Pernille and Rasmus were a bit dodge from the start...Rasmus' arc is about being reckless; is Pernille trying to get Martin into her flat for non-nookie reasons? It was boss guy who brought her in...

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 11:35

didi - could that be a Danish/Swedish pronunciation thing?

stinkingbishop Loving your work, fab thought that Pernille might be an ecobastard trying to lure Martin home to lob off his JohnThomas of unknown girth n' length or to put it in a guillotine attached to an iPhone timer and Saga has to stop Capitalism single handedly to save him from the chop and give her the chance of some unaffectionate spooning with the possibility of a shag at the end.

diddl · 20/01/2014 11:39

Yes I was thinking that Mrs-but wasn't sure if I'd imagined a different pronunciation.

I think Laura was supposed to be killed-hence the re try in the hospital.

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 11:41

I love her

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 11:43

Yeah, didi that must scupper the dad theory.

But still…
If he's a real loon he would sacrifice her as he may plan to blow himself up at the EU summit.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 20/01/2014 11:46

The dad didn't have to offer Saga and Martin the footage of Laura and Julian inside his house so I don't think he's a baddie.

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 12:01

yeah donkey But dead Julian called them in when he saw Marting answering his dead sister's mobile out of the body bag? So it could be double bluff?
He was filming when the ship hit the bridge and saw the getaway boat. He could be involved. Maybe she isn't really his daughter……
Biscuit

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 20/01/2014 12:03

But would he direct the gf to Laura's room if he had set a syringe or whatever it was in the bed to spike his DD? (Strokes chin thoughtfully).

mrsjavierbardem · 20/01/2014 12:08

It's a puzzle.
But if we work on the idea that it's the least likely that would leave
Martin as least likely?
Boss who adores Saga and didn't move jobs?
Martin's wife?
Pernille?
Martin's skinny assed Boss with the bun?
Saga's boyfriend's mother?
Martin's twins? Simmy and Mimmy - what were they called bless em?
Awful Nanny?

tobiasfunke · 20/01/2014 17:22

I don't trust that Pernille either. I think poor, old, inept Rasmus will save the day at some point.

Tabby1963 · 20/01/2014 18:01

I'm loving this series, I was worried that this one could not possibly be as good as the first one; it is, thankfully.

The relationship between Martin and Saga just gets better and better, I love the banter between them. That scene at the morgue with Saga looking under the covers at the gigolo's penis then trying to discuss small penises with Martin, hilarious.

Wondered about nanny when she stopped one of the children taking a glass of juice "no, that's juice". Why do that? Juice is juice.

Tabby1963 · 20/01/2014 18:02
  • "no, that's xxxx's juice".
diddl · 20/01/2014 18:12

Yes-I think that that first put Saga onto her.

Why does she know about Munchausen'sthought it odd that that was pointed out as unusual.

Was the implication that she/other family member was involed in her sister's death?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 20/01/2014 19:07

Quite an age gap between Saga and her sister. Maybe the parent missed having Sags around and tried foisting care on younger sibling, to the point they fabricated symptoms.

diddl · 21/01/2014 06:53

Her sister commited suicide didn't she-so no other involvement.

Maybe Saga feels responsible as she thinks she should have noticed her sister was unhappy/unwell?

I'm probably reading too much into Saga being "praised" for spotting the MuchausensBP.

stinkingbishop · 21/01/2014 07:11

Yes, am assuming Saga's sister killed herself (or DID she?!) following 14 years of being made poorly...'It's easy to spot, WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR.' I bet Saga read up afterwards (like she's doing with relationships) and kicks herself she didn't see the signs. Perhaps she thinks if she didn't have Asperger's, she would have.

Yep. The juice thing. But in an earlier episode there was that hilarious exchange between her and Saga where she said Martin had said they couldn't live without her, and smirked, and Saga said 'your function, not you as a person'.

Clocked. When Saga asks questions about someone and looks at them quizzically...they is BAD. She's been doing that with Pernille. Mark my words.

Whereas Rasmus...his recklessness will lead to a situation where (despite or because of the ill feeling between them at the moment) Saga will save his life. Or vice versa.

stinkingbishop · 21/01/2014 07:44

PS and remember Martin's asked for the file on Saga's sister's death...

PPS do we think maybe pouty girl's Dad's some kind of uber spook on the case of some of the main players, hence the surveillance, being there at the right time...was the needle meant for him?

PPPs and in the spirit of Bridge I was just a personal revenge story dressed up as a quest for the truth...is the climate change conference going to be a mass assassination of world leaders via the poison? Does Viktoria blame them somehow for having 'caught' cancer?

Right. Need to stop now. THIS IS JUST A TELLY PROGRAMME!!!

hackmum · 21/01/2014 09:21

I'd noticed the Sayga/Saga thing!

Great to join this thread at last - I've been a bit behind with the episodes and only caught 5 and 6 last night.

Loving Mrsjavierbardem's summing up of plot and characters so far.

I was surprised at the nanny's Munchausen's thing - I assumed she was part of an overarching evil plot to kill off Martin's children one by one. Surely there has to be some more significance to this.

I also agree that the eco-terrorism is neither here nor there. It's going to be some awful global drug company thing.
