The Apathy Factor is living up to it's name.

I will not post spoilery bits here, as I got in trouble t'other year.

I am praying for Christmas songs. And even arse flashing trees.

We can do this.....

Apostrophe police gonna getcha

Let's stay strong, people. Don't let's turn on one another.

ThistletoeAndWine · 14/12/2013 22:21

Marking place but I'm working tomorrow!

Raahh · 14/12/2013 22:22

I missed the last part of Saturday's show. Luke was voted off? Did they do the 3rd song each or is that for Sunday night?

Iwantacampervan · 15/12/2013 07:54

I managed to catch the last 5 minutes when I saw who was voted off - that's enough for me ! I may read the threads on here to get a feeling of what happened.
I can't get excited by any of the acts and the threads on here are the only thing which make it all bearable and entertaining.

MrsShrek3 · 15/12/2013 11:00

X marks the spot for later Xmas Wink

CalamitouslyWrong · 15/12/2013 15:41

Surely the apostrophe in the title is right. It's a contraction of it is, not a possessive.

I'm looking forward to this like one looks forward to getting a filling.

TotemPole · 15/12/2013 15:45

Apostrophe in the OP shouldn't be there. Its not it's.

Did they do the 3rd song. Have I missed Nicholas singing Angel.:(

Raahh · 15/12/2013 15:49

Calam- it's the apostrophe in the first line of my OP that is wrong, i think...
And dh watched some with me last night, and said his root canal was more funXmas Grin

I watched the end again with dd2 this morning. Think Crood seemed a nice lad, but Wee Jimmy's smug grin, and sinking to the ground as if he really was shockedHmm looked a bit fake. I don't like either of the acts that are left, or the guest acts.

Remind me why I'm watching again?Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 15/12/2013 15:59

and these are the song they will be singing tonight.

No sign of any Christmas songsXmas Sad

Nicholas McDonald
Angel by Sarah McLachlan
Nicholas McDonald’s winner’s song: Skyscraper by Demi Lovato

Sam Bailey
Power Of Love by Jennifer Rush
Sam Bailey’s winner’s song: Superman by Five For Fighting.

I don't think I know Wee Jimmy's winner's song. I know Sam's, and am not keen.

Apparently, the viewing figures for this year's final are lower than those for the first one 2004. When Steve Brookstein won- he of the multi-award selling album and global career ...oh no, wait...

Make of that what you will. Grin
I would also demand my money back, if I'd paid to see Beyonce and was subjected to either Wee Jimmy's Mickey Bubbles tribute act, or Sam's caterwauling. Xmas Grin

Raahh · 15/12/2013 16:06

Ok -I youtubed the Superman thing. It is very dull, American, theme from a movie shit. Featuring the following really great lyrics:

I'm more than a bird,
I'm more than a plane
I'm more than some pretty face beside a train

eh?

Ok, then. We can only hope they make Wee Jimmy dress as Superman, for the lolz.

Xmas Grin

Ooh, so I haven't missed it. Thanks raahh.

I think G4 would have won if Sharon hadn't done that bizarre rant at Brookstein.

Raahh · 15/12/2013 16:07

I've just realised I've mixed them upGrin

I'd be even happier to see ScrewLoose dressed as SupermanGrin

OP posts:
Raahh · 15/12/2013 16:09

I know- G4 were robbed. And i always had a soft spot for Rowetta, if only because of her Happy Mondays connection.

OP posts:
TotemPole · 15/12/2013 16:31

Even Simon Cowell said G4 and Louis were the real winners. They were successful and managed to sell. I bought a few tracks of their first album.

TotemPole · 15/12/2013 16:36

Who was Rowetta?

Over the years, I've liked Rhydian, G4, the blonde girl with folky sounding voice.

Character wise, I liked Chico. He's done quite well for himself out it. I read somewhere that he'd made over £1m as a result. Things like personal appearances, TV guest etc.

CalamitouslyWrong · 15/12/2013 16:37

Ah, in the OP not the title. Well the apostrophe police won't notice if the title is fine Grin

I am dreading having to cower through the shouting that will be the power of love again. What with the wee barra boring us all with angel too, it looks like a total yawn-fest.

Doesn't look like there will be Christmas songs. Were Leona's arse flashing trees the apathy factor's nod towards Christmas for this year, then? Pathetic.

TotemPole · 15/12/2013 16:44

Angel is a lovely song. I hope he does it well.

I'm on team Nicholas.

Power of Love, good power ballad for Sam. Nicole got her through yesterday. I haven't heard her sing before and thought she was great.

Raahh · 15/12/2013 16:54

Rowetta came third to Brookstein. She was mad as a box of frogs and had already had a career as a backing singing for the Happy Mondays, amongst others. She had a good voice.

I loved Rhydian. His 'O Holy Night' was sublime. How Leon won is beyond me.

This is the first time I've posted in the X factor thread so I hope you don't mind me crashing the part but I felt compelled to post. I was semi watching it last night while wrapping presents. Only half watched this season. Um... It's like car crash telly?? That Sam has an amazing voice but I'll be surprised if she turns into a global superstar and the other one is a little boy ?! Is he even 12?

Sorry I am guessing from the tone of some of the posts that it's not just me that thinks it's awful!

Raahh · 15/12/2013 17:12

Finally- this year has been particularly poor. I can see how Sam will have fans- in the same way that people liked Jane macDonald, and going on cruise shipsGrin, but I find her very dated, and shouty.

I don't get Wee Jimmy/Nicholas at all. 'Candy' was terrible last night (and it is a godawful song to start withGrin). And his voice is really not good enough for the Buble comparison.

And Wee Jimmy/Nicholas is Seventeen. Seventeen.

It will be mentioned at least seventeen times in the first 5 minutes, probably. It's the most interesting thing about him, frankly.

And no, we don't take it very seriously on this thread. Grin

Saw Rhydian in Rocky Horror last year..... he was fab!!

ShellyF · 15/12/2013 17:20

Don't think I will watch as I can't summon up enough interest to care who wins.
May catch up on here so keep your entertaining posts coming please:-)

CalamitouslyWrong · 15/12/2013 17:22

It doesn't make any difference whether angel is a lovely song or not. In Nicholas's hands it will be boring. Guaranteed. He already did it in week 3 and I doubt he'll be any less dull tonight. Sam shouted the power of love at us in week 1.

It's the songs no one in the audience wanted to hear you sing again you've sung before bit of the final. The judges will talk bollocks about how far they've come and so forth.

CalamitouslyWrong · 15/12/2013 17:25

I think rundown came unstuck on seeming a bit arrogant. Whereas Leon Jackson seemed nice. And that, not how good you are, is what counts for the folks who are willing to pay money and vote for an xfactor winner.

Much though he will be the next Leon Jackson, I'd prefer him to win over screw loose.
