I realise i may be alone here but finished season 3 of 24 this weekend and oh, i just adore Jack Bauer! He's not a beefcake or your traditional hard nut but he is just amazing...

And the bit at the end when he just let himself 'feel' after the day from hell.. i just wanted to cuddle him.

No spoilers please as have only seen the first 3 seasons (although immediately ordered season 4 off ebay for the bargain price of £3,40 inc p&p!) but WHAT A MAN!!

I can't tell you unless you've watched the whole series I don't want to spoil anything.

MsRyanGosling · 02/12/2013 17:54

I need to know the Urban Legend too!!

FushandChups · 02/12/2013 18:24

Right - have plans to watch lots of it over the next week or so... as soon as I am done, I will be back(have managed the first 12 hours and it's all calmed down... It won't last though, will it Grin)

Audrey is now going off Jack - what is wrong with her! Yes, hubby is attractive and seems nice but... well, it's Jack! I know who gets my vote (and anything else he might like Blush Sorry, it's been a while!)

OP posts:
anonacfr · 05/12/2013 23:25

Hubby is JAMES FRAIN!!!!!! I've always had a massive crush on him. Not sure why. It made me very happy to see him re-emerge in Sleepy Hollow.

FushandChups · 06/12/2013 12:18

Sorry but I don't know who he is so whilst I can appreciate his beauty (because he is rather lovely looking), I can't help but want to be swept off my feet by Jack. He is close to death atm so will have to see what happens - my prediction for what it's worth is that he pulls through, Audrey realises she loves him still and agrees to reconcile and poor Jack is once again fucked over by the job that he loves Sad I'll help him get over it!

OP posts:
anonacfr · 06/12/2013 16:32

I don't remember the full storyline with Frain (only the outcome) but I thought it was hilarious that Jack Bauer had more chemistry with his girlfriend's husband than he did with his actual girlfriend.

Did I mention I can't stand Audrey? Grin

FushandChups · 06/12/2013 17:23

That is so true Grin I liked the whole saving each others lives stuff and am hoping there is more to come.. (don't much like Audrey either!!)

i LOVE 24 and had forgotten about it until i saw this thread, am still getting over the pain of Breaking Bad finishing. you are so lucky to still be watchign 24 for the first time, i could easily watch it again, you have some GREAT seasons still to come too.... did you know that they are going to do another season although smaller :-)

FushandChups · 06/12/2013 20:50

Ooooh lovely - just getting a quick fix in before I'm a Celeb. Audrey is very wet but is also having a very very bad day - her dad, her lover, her husband all getting into scrapes. .. nasty!

OP posts:
anonacfr · 07/12/2013 20:43

Yes but so did Kate Warner in season 2- she even got tortured FFS! and I thought she was way less wet.
But somehow the 24 fans hated her and her relationship with Jack, whereas they all seemed to think Audrey was amazing.

So did Kiefer. Apparently he asked for her character to have more screen time because he thought he had an amazing chemistry with the actress. WTF?

FushandChups · 07/12/2013 21:06

To be fair though, Kiefer's judgement was quite off at that point in his life!

I saw the first two seasons not long after they aired, then met stbxh who didn't like it.. so as soon as he left, I got my grubby mitts on S3 as I remembered that S2 basically finished on a massive cliffhanger. Don't remember much more about it though.. I think once I have got through the remaining ones, I might just have to start over Grin

I read that kiefer had farooz's mother knocked off because he didn't get on with the actress Hmm

FushandChups · 10/12/2013 23:58

Am up to 3 am and Audrey has just told Jack she hates him - his little face Sad evil evil woman!

OP posts:
FushandChups · 11/12/2013 20:36

I just want to hug him better Sad

Having glanced back at my previous posts, realise I come across as a complete lech Blush I am not creepy, honest!

FushandChups · 11/12/2013 23:51

Ok - just finished S4 and will admit to shedding a tear Sad Poor Jack - although kind of wish he hadn't donned the rather dated 'Top Gun' look at the very end!

and President Logan - go fuck yourself (I know it's just a tv programme but urgh!)

As to Behrooz (sp) - I reckon he now becomes properly radicalised and is the next Habib Mirwan Grin although if you can let me in on the urban legend now, that would be fab!

OP posts:
FushandChups · 11/12/2013 23:54

oh - and S5 already on its way (I realise how sad & lonely this looks but as lone parent to 2 young DC, I've got to get my kicks somewhere as can't get out much!)

OP posts:
anonacfr · 13/12/2013 22:54

The Behrooz thing is that after all the focus on him he's basically killed off/whisked away/ whatever they actually do to him offscreen and after being made to root for/worry/care about this poor kid no-one actually knows what the fuck happens to him.

Nowadays whenever you are a sad do like me read TWOP TV forums and abandoned plots are discussed they tend to call it doing a Behrooz.

limitedperiodonly · 15/12/2013 14:49

I read that kiefer had farooz's mother knocked off because he didn't get on with the actress

Really? I didn't know about that but I know one character was killed off out of spite for an internet spoiler. They used to film it while it was screening - it was a really short lead time so they could easily change things. I'm not sure that the character did it, but a true plotline appeared and they just cancelled it and the character.

Ruthless but a good way of encouraging the others not to reveal storylines.

I'm not going to reveal the person because it was really dramatic and it's a real shock if you haven't seen it. I feel sorry for the person but it did lift a series that was flagging. Excellent episode.

I have visited the 24 set. I've even done a wee in the loos that were integral to the finale of the first series. I'm so proud.

I've also met Kiefer. He was nice. Huge head and tiny body. It's like his body parts had some kind of discussion at 14 to divert all energy into his head and forget about the bits below the neck.

Chloe was great. Tony Almeida was an arse.

ClayDavis · 15/12/2013 15:47

This thread's making me Envy. I'm going to have to watch them all again I think.

FushandChups · 15/12/2013 16:44

limitedperiod - I am so Envy you got to go to the set, wee in the loo AND meet Keifer! How on earth did you manage that? Am interested to hear that Kiefer is so out of proportion as he doesn't appear that way - oh the wonders of tv.

I think it's cool that they were able to change things on short notice in case of leaks - with something like 24, the suspense is what makes it so excellent. I would like the job of monitoring online forums etc in case of any true plots being leaked!

And agree Chloe is excellent.. I always thought Tony's voice was really annoying, part whisper part husky and I just wanted him to talk louder most of the time.

So guess Behrooz doesn't appear in later seasons then.. how ridiculous (unless of course the new season alluded to earlier is some sort of Behrooz revenge plot..!) I always consider plots that go nowhere to be a Hollyoaks device - they have so many that must vanish into thin air Grin

Kiefer is about 5ft 7ins or 5ft 8ins. Very skinny. Large head.

Once you know how small he is you start to realise how many scenes there are with other actors where they're sitting and he's standing, or he's lying on the ground holding a gun to their head.

Dennis Haysbert (President elect and President Palmer) is about 6ft 3ins.The person who plays his brother is also tall. They're always sitting down in scenes with Kiefer.

There's an English villain whose name and series I can't remember now but we joked that the only scene where they're together has him lying on the ground with Kiefer standing over him with a big gun.

Despite that sensitivity he seemed very nice.

I'm a showbiz journalist btw.

limitedperiodonly · 15/12/2013 17:31

Sorry, I meant they're lying on the ground with him holding a gun to their heads.

anonacfr · 15/12/2013 21:47

Ironically in a later season they picked a really tall actor to play Jack's dad. It looked rather silly.

FushandChups · 15/12/2013 23:50

Dennis Haysbert is extremely tall - he towers over most of the cast! must admit I was delighted when he reappeared in the season I've just watched

limitedperiod - you have a cool job Smile
