guineapiglet agree the animal welfare story was handled well (farmer's daughter here), poor DH had me interjecting all the way through the scene with Katrine's brother explaining why Danish pork is so much cheaper than UK pork.

Yes, yes to feeling for poor Torben and the horrible Alex. Would love to see more Philip but suspect we are only seeing them in a more comfortable place to act as a contrast to Katrine and Kasper. Poor Katrine obviously still loves Kasper, I wonder if we are going to find out more about the breakup as the series goes on.

Jeremy just felt like a convenient intro to the pig storyline this week but I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for 'Archie'.

Cor, just caught up with Saturday's double bill, i LOVE this programme. Quality tv. Excellent and quite brave tackling of animal welfare issue, (poor piglet and his tail Sad) and such good characterisation. Please, please, please let Katrine and Kasparrr come to their senses.....

Highlander · 30/11/2013 22:14

Verycold · 30/11/2013 22:18

AtiaoftheJulii · 30/11/2013 22:57

Yay Troels!!

smugmumofboys · 30/11/2013 23:01

Birgitte. Sad

Cremolafoam · 30/11/2013 23:02

Oh birgitte don't go through it alone. Where's Bent when you need him !!

Oh and please let Lars mikkelson [troels] have a thing with Katrine.

AtiaoftheJulii · 30/11/2013 23:46

... and goodbye Troels.

Unless of course he gets together with Katrine Grin

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 01/12/2013 23:51

I thought I was imagining things but truly was Troels what a pleasant surprise. Bit of a spark there with Katrine at the end wasn't there - he really would be a step up from Alex with his blackmailing ways and loopy furniture.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 01/12/2013 23:55

Can you picture Torben's DW writing into MN Relationships?
My DH is so distracted these days, we've started marriage guidance but he's working such long hours at work if I didn't know better I might worry he's having an affair.

carabos · 04/12/2013 19:43

No no not Troels and Katrine. Troels and Birgitte surely?

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 04/12/2013 19:45

@Piffpaffpoff

And Archie out of Monarch of the Glen is in it!

THAT"S who he is. It has taken me 4 eps and I still hadn't realised.
Thanks for putting me out of my misery.

Jinglebellsforthebetter · 04/12/2013 20:26

I love Borgen. I have only found it this (final Hmm) series. I love the way everyone hops on bikes.

Alex is a git but yummy. I'm not surprised Katrine had a ONS with him. Torben is clearly falling apart/having a midlife crisis.

I found the scene with Birgitte in hospital so sad. I hope it's not going to end with her death Hmm

Verycold · 04/12/2013 21:46

Isn't the Birgitte all alone thing a tad unrealistic? Surely someone like her would have somebody who could be by her side? Old neighbour/school friend/aunt?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 04/12/2013 23:32

I thought she wanted to keep her treatment out of the public eye so she's more likely to deal with it solo. Bent looked like she had said something that jarred.

minxthemanx · 07/12/2013 16:46

Only just caught up with last Saturday's, as usual beautifully handled. The harsh, nasty world of politics and press jarring against the emotions of Troels and his ex-girlfriend's suicide, and Birgitte on that hospital trolley............ such fantastic telly it's not true.

Punkatheart · 07/12/2013 19:54

No - as a fellow cancer sufferer - sometimes it works to keep it to yourself.

Verycold · 07/12/2013 22:34

So who welled up when Birgitte walked up the corridor with her children?

CremolaFirCone · 07/12/2013 23:00

Go birgitte go!!
I'm voting for you!

Oh I wept.Smile

canutesauntie · 07/12/2013 23:05

Oh yes and when Jeremy turned up. Enjoyed her hijacking the latest debate too and yay - Katrine & Ravn / Troels! Nete being the mole was telegraphed in very large letters though.

CremolaFirCone · 07/12/2013 23:07

Nete and her giant norks . Shame on her. Grin

carabos · 07/12/2013 23:31

Jeremy meh. Katrine is punching way above her weight with Troels. Time for Kasper to return to Birgitte's side, Katrine doesn't have what it takes when things get down and dirty - too much naïveté.

Poor old Torben. Saw that coming a mile off.

Lurleene · 07/12/2013 23:48

Oh FFS - it is my work Christmas do next Saturday. Would it be very unreasonable of me to sack it off for the Borgen finale?

I'm very glad Birgitte shared everything with her family, and I liked how Jeremy was just there for her and not demanding anything in return. It was a contrast to Phillip who threw his toys out the pram because he often had to play second fiddle when she was elected.

CremolaFirCone · 08/12/2013 10:31

Lurleene that scene with her kids t the table was brilliantly done.
Torben omg. Pia FGS I hope she ends up with torbens job.
Agree Katrine and troels a bit unlikely.
