That was so so good. I could hardly keep up with all the twists and turns. Quite chuffed that Birgitte and Katrine are working together. Slightly over investing, where can I vote for Birgitte?

smugmumofboys · 16/11/2013 23:01

That was two hours of the best telly in ages.

I love Birgitte!

Cremolafoam · 16/11/2013 23:04

You can like her on FB according to Katrine. Grin

Cremolafoam · 16/11/2013 23:05

I

chartreuse · 16/11/2013 23:09

I loved it! Only good programme on TV

Bellebelle · 16/11/2013 23:15

Loved it, best bit was Bent asking to come on board towards the end of Ep 2, I think I actually clapped my hands Blush

Slightly traumatised by Kaspar's new look though...

Cremolafoam · 16/11/2013 23:23

Yes gone right off Kaspar. Looking puffyWink

darksparrow · 16/11/2013 23:26

That was great - back to form after I feel losing a bit if steam in season 2. Love that Katrine a more central player. I wish Birgitte was our PM! She talks so much sense and there is no pretense or bullshit!

darksparrow · 16/11/2013 23:28

I agree, what has happened to Kaspar - he's gone all swidgy.

Bellebelle · 16/11/2013 23:38

The actor that plays Kasper was doing other Theatre and film work at the time so apparently his look changes throughout this series. Not a main character anymore either.

Episode 2 tonight with the hair and moustache Shock

Cremolafoam · 16/11/2013 23:41

Grin@ sqwigey!

I desperately want Hanne to go off the rails again.Shock
I'd put money on Jeremy being a wrong'un Wink

Scarletbanner · 16/11/2013 23:44

Loved it, loved it! So glad it didn't disappoint.

And shallow I know, but I want Birgitte's bag!

funnyossity · 17/11/2013 11:54

I like the fact that Katrine's old flat was always was a tip and so is this one! Also her hair looks suitably awry when rushing about whereas in a UK programme she would always look glam. I love Katrine and Hanne.

legoplayingmumsunite · 17/11/2013 14:49

her hair looks suitably awry when rushing about

I noticed that too. She looked particularly shit the day of the press conference when she had to take Gustav with her and her shirt was hanging out and everything. I did wonder if anyone in real life has ever had to take a child into work though. Surely she could have got Kasper to look after Gustav for the press conference? I like that it does show the conflicts between work and parenthood but without putting across a message that the women shouldn't be working.

guineapiglet · 17/11/2013 15:44

Aaaw, it was wonderful to see Birgitte again, I loved everything about her - fabulous outfits and hair, feistiness, brilliant taste in office apartments - she is just so watchable, and the politics and goings on are really absorbing... They did make the point about her bieng 'chubby' in her previous series, certainly she is very sleek looking now - the whole setting of Copenhagen and all the political intrigue is big step up from most UK dramas, well filmed and interesting scripts.

I am still madly in love with Philip though, despite his 'bad behaviour' - could have jumped (on) him as he sad outside in his mac drinking coffee - found 'Jeremy' a bit too stereotyped somehow and have a horrible feeling he may just not be good for her.

So glad to have her back! Grin

fosterwallace · 18/11/2013 16:07

Delighted it's back and doubly delighted that Katrine is no loner living in an airing cupboard. Grin

fosterwallace · 18/11/2013 16:08

I mean 'longer'. obviously

Icapturethecastle · 18/11/2013 22:23

Not caught up yet but current watching Veep and Sally Phillips is playing the Finnish Primeminster and is totally channelling Birgitte with her big bun! I really want one but it just looks ridiculous on me!

Bellebelle · 23/11/2013 23:01

This Kasper and Katrine stuff is a bit painful to watch, loving the rest of it though.

carabos · 24/11/2013 16:46

Loving it but not enough Bent or Kaspar (or Philip Wink). Love the bonkers Nete with her massive chest and unsuitable outfits Grin. Worried about Torben - how will he fight off the horrible Alex?

Bellebelle · 24/11/2013 19:13

Yes, more Bent needed!

Finding myself cringing for Torben in lots of the scenes. In any other programme I'd anticipate that Alex will make a terrible decision at some point about something they do/don't broadcast which will be his downfall. But in Borgen I'm never sure if they'll follow the expected storyline or do something completely unexpected.

Lurleene · 24/11/2013 23:22

Birgitte has mentioned her hands being numb a couple of times. That does not bode well. Sad

AtiaoftheJulii · 24/11/2013 23:31

I know, I winced at that :( MS? (Bit West Wing!)

I'm very sad about Katrine and Kaspar. And wondering how duplicitous Jon is going to turn out to be. But did laugh at the amazing coincidence of Katrine having a pig farmer brother Grin

guineapiglet · 25/11/2013 13:11

Just read the Guardian blog on these two episodes, a bit underwhelmed by them in some ways - but, as a lifelong veggie, was very impressed that they finally tackled the issue of danish pig farming. Compared to the UK, Denmark (surprisingly) has an awful record on animal welfare and factory farming, so think twice now before you buy your Danish bacon ( or 'rubbish' as Svend Age put it! I did find it odd that Birgitte seemd to have no insight into any of these goings on tho'....

Talking of goings on, I am just not getting Jeremy at all.... especially after Philip had so sweetly offered her up £150,000 DK to pay back her 'loan' from the bank -did she really think there would be no strings attached with all her political savvy? I know he is a b@?@*&d from his behaviour in the other series, but now they have both had a break with other people, I am still hopeful of a reconciliation!!

Lets hope this piggy episode is one marking the nail in the coffin of factory farming! Grin

GlassOfPort · 25/11/2013 14:28

I am also worrying about the numb hands and what is going to happen to poor Torben (I wonder whether he is going to have a full blown affair with Pia)
